I have loved you all my life

Even though  we've  never  met

I've missed you through the strife

Battles of  blood, tears, and sweat

I've yearned for your cloudless smile

For your sunrise and your sunset

I've scribbled your veins on my skin

I have sketched your nameless face

Amid my sorrows and each regret

I've prayed not to lose my sanity

I've  promised  never to forget

I've  taken a vow of  dignity

Certain hearts do not  quit

For love's author of hope

A shield from each hit

And I'll love you for

the rest of my life

Even  though

I   haven't

met you
