PROMISE

<<KIM LEEHAN>>

"No matter how much the seasons change, some promises are like cherry blossoms- they bloom once but stay in your heart forever"

The cherry blossom festival was in full bloom, and Yujin had never seen the park so lively. Families picnicked under the trees, couples walked hand in hand, and children ran around chasing petals that fell like snow. Yujin stood at the edge of it all, clutching a small camera in her hands.

She was there for the perfect shot- or so she told herself. In truth, she was waiting for Leehan.

"Yujin!"

She turned at the familiar voice, her heart skipping a beat as Leehan jogged towards her, slightly out of breath. In his hands, he carried a small bouquet of wildflowers, their uneven stems tied together with a thin ribbon.

"You're late," she teased, crossing her arms.

"Blame the florist," he said with a sheepish grin, holding out the bouquet. "And this is my apology gift."

Yujin raised an eyebrow as she accepted the flowers. "These aren't from a florist."

"Okay, you caught me," he admitted with a laugh. "I picked them on the way here. But it's the thought that counts, right?"

She rolled her eyes, though her smile betrayed her amusement. "You're lucky I like wildflowers."

They started walking together, weaving through the crowds. The breeze carried the scent of blossoms and the faint sounds of a street musician playing a cheerful tune nearby.

"So," Yujin began, adjusting the camera strap around her neck, "you said you had something to show me?"

Leehan's face lit up. "Right! Come on, it's this way."

He led her off the main path, away from the noise and laughter. They walked until they reached a secluded clearing surrounded by cherry trees. The petals blanketed the ground, and a simple wooden bench sat in the middle, bathed in soft sunlight.

"It's beautiful," Yujin said, her voice full of wonder.

Leehan gestured for her to sit on the bench. "I found this place last year. I've been waiting to show it to you."

She sat down, pulling her camera out of her bag. "It's perfect. Let me take a picture."

As she adjusted the lens, Leehan watched her with a soft smile. "You really love photography, don't you?"

"Of course," she replied, snapping a shot of the blossoms. "It's like freezing time. Even when everything changes, the memory stays the same."

Leehan's expression turned thoughtful. "Speaking of change... there's something I've been meaning to say."

Yujin lowered her camera, turning to him. "What is it?"

He hesitated, running a hand through his hair. "We're graduating soon, Yujin. And things are going to change-new schools, new cities. But... I don't want us to change."

Her heart sank a little. "Leehan, are you worried we'll drift apart?"

"A little," he admitted. "But mostly, I'm worried I won't get to see you like this anymore. Laughing, chasing petals, capturing the world in your lens."

Yujin looked at him, her chest tightening. "Leehan..."

He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small velvet pouch. "Before anything changes, I wanted to give you this."

Her eyes widened as he opened the pouch, revealing a simple silver bracelet. Hanging from it was a tiny charm shaped like a cherry blossom.

"Leehan..." she whispered.

"It's not a big deal," he said quickly, his face turning red. "But I thought... maybe this could remind you of today. And of me."

Yujin stared at the bracelet, her eyes shimmering. "It's beautiful."

"Do you like it?" he asked nervously.

"I love it," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

Leehan smiled, relief washing over him. "Let me help you put it on."

He fastened the bracelet around her wrist, his fingers brushing against her skin. Yujin's heart raced, the weight of the moment settling in her chest.

"Leehan," she said softly, looking up at him. "This is more than just a bracelet, isn't it?"

He nodded, his gaze steady. "It's my way of saying I want us to stay in each other's lives. No matter what happens, Yujin, I'll always be here for you."

Tears prickled at her eyes as she reached out to hold his hand. "And I'll always be here for you too."

As the sun began to set, casting the clearing in hues of gold and pink, Yujin raised her camera.

"Smile," she said.

Leehan turned to her, his smile brighter than the blossoms around them.

Click.

A perfect moment, captured forever- just like their promise to each other.

a new year gift for y'all <3
