Maria's POV

Hi my name is Maria and I go to Gateway Highschool in California. In school I get bullied a lot and am classed as a nerd, I suppose I am but that's because I study a lot and I don't mean to be but lots of people tease me saying that I'm a 'teachers pet'. I don't have any friends, I used to be best friends with Amelia, we were inseparable, but she became too 'popular' for me. All of a sudden she just became queen of the school and has a crowd of 'friends' now, or should I say minions, yeah I probably should. That's what they are!

Flashback.....
One day I was walking down the corridor when I heard a group of people gossiping about a new boy, as I was walking past they noticed me and started shouting out names at me, "Nerd! Ugly! Loner!" (A/N personally I think the way they treat her is horrible, but I needed a character so just know I'm not trying to offend everyone!) I've learned to ignore the words so they don't bother me, but one girl walked up and pushed me against a locker. Then kneed me in the stomach, emptied my schoolbag on the ground, threw me on the floor and walked away laughing. By then I nearly unconscious on the ground, but I faintly heard a boys voice shout, "Hey! Get away from her!" Then everything went black. I woke up and saw a boy on the chair next to my bed, I realised I was in the nurses office. And the boy was the one from earlier, I've never seen him before, he must be the new guy then. "Hi." He says. "Hi, sorry about that." I say shyly. "Why, them girls were being horrible, I reported them and they're in deep trouble! I'm Travis by the way, Travis Stoll." He sits forward and shakes my hand. "Maria Collins." I reply.

Since then me Travis have been inseparable, we have all the same classes, we sit together at lunch and we study together after school. Okay, I'll admit, I have a huge crush on him! I like everything about him, his personality, his messy curly brown hair and his bright blue that light up every time he's excited. I really like him but I don't know if I'm confident enough to admit it. But he's always telling me to have more faith in myself, so I think I should! I will after school!

I'm walking out the doors when I see a Delphi's Strawberry Service, about 10 kids walk out of it. Everyone is crowding around it when I notice Travis bounding through the crowd and running towards it. That's weird! He runs towards them and hugs everyone, but he looks disappointed, "Where's Katie-Kat?" He asks. Everyone looks guilty and says, "She couldn't make it today." "Oh Okay, well I cant wait to see her, lets head to camp!" When he opens the car door a girl jumps up from behind on the seats and shouts, "SURPRISSEEE!" Travis has the biggest grin on his face, the one that I've fallen in love with. She hops out of the van and he lifts her up and spins her around. Then he sits her down and kisses her! I-I can't believe it! I try not to cry because everyone's watching them in awe, so I don't want any attention, but I won't be able to hold it for much longer. They're in deep conversation when Travis motions one minute and shouts to me, "Maria, come meet my friends!" I shuffle over and I get introduced to everyone, they're really nice but I still feel very uncomfortable, seeing Travis so happy and it's not because of me. But Travis has been an amazing friend to me and I just care that he's happy. After a while, Travis and everyone get in the van and d
rive away, I didn't see Travis ever again, or until one day, in the future.............

Hi! Hope you enjoyed this chapter! I know the last sentence is kind of a cliffhanger, but I've got an idea for a Part 2 that will be out this week. I do one chapter everyday but not just on this Fanfic, so I will mix it up, I'm hoping to do a Frazel chapter next on my Mortals Meet Demigods.
