"Useless! Filthy! Brat!"
Each word stabbed me like a rusty dagger every time my mother said them. Eventually, she left to do whatever drunks do.
This was my chance.
I'd been planning to run away for a while now, but I only mustered the courage to do so today. My father, Loki, left when I was little, and ever since then, my mother had been a drunk and abused me until my anger levelled out my hurt, which is so high that I can't even describe it. Of course, my mom doesn't know who my real father is. I know because he told me in a dream. I grabbed my ready backpack and quietly jumped out my window. It was the first floor, so I didn't hurt myself. And so, with just a few bottles of water, some food, and the clothes on my back, I set off to Odin knows where.
Time skip brought to you by pink and green sweaters
A couple days later, I had one water bottle left and one sandwich when I came across a weird arch-thingy that said:
WELCOME TO CAMP HALF-BLOOD
Huh?
But I decided to walk through anyway. I mean, it's not every day you see a nice-looking summer camp that could potentially be a temporary home.
When I walked inside, my mouth dropped open. It was huge. And unordinary. There was a climbing wall spewing lava from the top, a training arena, and an array of weird-looking buildings.
I stood there with my mouth agape until an emo-looking dude walked up to me and I regained my composture.
"Who are you?" He raised an eyebrow.
"I'm Leah Arimino. I ran away from home and found this place. Sorry to bother you," I started walking back out toward the gates, prepared to die a starving death.
"Wait!" Emo Guy called after me.
I turned around. "Yeah?"
"You can stay, you might be a de-- nevermind. Come with me," he waved his hand in a "follow me" gesture.
Guess I'm staying here. Yay! (And no, that wasn't sarcasm.)
"I'm Nico di Angelo," Nico introduced himself. "See, the Greek gods are real. So are the Roman, Egyptian, and Norse. Anyway, I think you might be one. By the looks of it, a daughter of Hermes."
"Actually, I'm a daughter of Loki. It's okay if you dump me 'cause of that, I can go find somewhere else--"
I was cut off by Nico. "No. I'm surprised you already know your godly parent, and just because your father is Loki doesn't mean you're evil. I'm a son of Hades. People always think that sons and daughters of the god of the Underworld are supposed to be evil, but that's not true. So stay with us, we'll help you find a home," he smiled reassuringly, and I had a feeling it wasn't something he did a lot.
I returned the gesture. "Okay."
Part two? Let me know if you guys would actually read it if I made it. Feel free to comment any OCs for more stories! Again, thank you warp_artegia for letting me do this!
