Earnest Rimando -- T.J.
As soon as I got home, I ran up to my room and got my notebook out. I flipped to an open page and started writing:
Hello Diary,
Today was a very strange day. So I was walking home from school, and naturally, I sat at the dock before continuing on my way. As I looked out on the water, I noticed a ship that wasn't normally there. I thought nothing of it, and soon it was gone from my mind. A few minutes later, I was back on the sidewalk, avoiding the bustling crowds and street vendors. But there was one man that caught my eye. He wore a U.S. army uniform, and he had a bayonet slung over his shoulder. It seemed as if he was walking between people, shaking their hands and saying something, though I couldn't make out what. So I kept going. Thirty seconds later, my nice walk was cut short by someone bumping into me. I started to apologize, but then I realized who it was. It was the guy with the bayonet! Then, (surprise surprise) he started shaking my hand! "Thank you so, so much," he said, still vigorously shaking my arm. "Uh, thank you for what, exactly?" His mouth fell open. "For supporting America, of course!" Someone behind him facepalmed and walked forward, grabbing his other arm. "Sorry about that, he's had a lot of coffee today," she apologized. "It's alright, I wasn't rushing anywhere," I smiled. "Oh, okay then. I'm Mallory, by the way." "Earnest."
That was the last I saw of any weird coffee addicts and people with fiery red hair named Mallory.
