Sarah

Sorry for not updating!!! Schools getting more and more stressful. But I'm going to try to post at least every other week! Let's hope I can actually do that! Enjoy the story!!!

I was running through the rain, holding Cassandra to my chest. I felt the pounding of her heart that mixed in with the pounding of feet behind me. I turned, seeing the massive monster that had chased me from my apartment. I was running for my life just because Apollo found interest in me.

*Flashback*

A warm breeze blew in the air, making the leaves rustle and fall to the ground. It was early August, and the trees were already shedding their leaves. I sat on a park bench, admiring the landscape before me. I had just gotten out of college and I was finally a free spirit. I saw a rather cute guy walk up to me.

"Hi, my name's Apollo. What's yours?"

I replied, "Hi. My names Sarah."

"Hi Sarah. I saw you from across the park and I was wondering if you would like to go out to dinner."

"Um, sure. When should we meet?" I replied blushing.

"About 6? Is that fine? But I can also pick you up if you'd like."

"Six sound fine. Um yeah, my cars in the shop, could you pick me up?" I said nervously.

"Of course, just give me your number and you could text it to me."

And I did just that.

*flashback over*

As I was running, I regretted everything on that day. I ran through dark ally's and managed to shake off the monster. Quickly, I ran to a daycare, signed Cassandra in and ran off again. I called out to Apollo for help, and nothing happened. But, I heard a screech of air being sliced by a golden arrow and a thunk as it hit the monster, causing it to disintegrate into golden dust. I fell on my knees and wept, knowing I would have to give up Cassandra because I was a demigod of Demeter. Me keeping her would put us both in more danger. I returned to the daycare. I checked her out, paid, and left. I left her at an adopting center and walked out, silent tears running down my face, mixing in with the rain pouring down on me. I knew Cassandra would survive, make it to Camp Half-Blood, and live a long and happy life.
