Standing here, graduation day, Memories of my first day here flooded into my mind. Calypso, Katie, and I were all in the office, waiting for the people to give us our schedules and a tour guide. I stood in the corner and watched them talk with each other when they seemed to notice I was there.

"Hi, I'm Autumn Rose!" I randomly said when I felt their gaze.

"Hi! I'm Katie." The one on the left said.

"I'm Calypso."

Calypso didn't seem very comfortable being there. She stood awkwardly, staring at the room around her, eyes widening at a few things. But, I chose to ignore that.

We became fast friends in the office, talking about random stuff. Well, I guess that wasn't a surprise since it's like a stereotypical, meet on the first day and became friends kinda thing... is that a thing?

But, unfortunately, we didn't get the stereotypical "same schedule" but we still had a few classes together. I had first period by myself :( so I had to make more friends. Once I entered the classroom I felt everyone's eyes on me. The teacher's face brightened.

"You must be the new student, Autumn! I'm Miss Adams (I DONT EVEN KNOW STOP JUDGING) Can you introduce yourself; say a few facts about yourself like your favorite food, something like that?" She asked.

"Um hi? My name is Autumn Rose, I came from (Insert rival school here) but don't kill me, I'm on your side now. I like pizza and getting good grades, because who doesn't?"

I sat down and looked around me. Sitting next to me was an obvious relationship between the people sitting on both sides of me. They kept sending each other knowing looks and kept laughing silently. I just kinda sat there like a third wheel, even though I didn't even know them. The girl was pretty much a stereotypical California blond; golden tan skin, curly blond hair, and a slim, muscular body. But every other trait showed a different side. She had hard, calculating silver eyes that obviously didn't show the personality of a giggly dumb blond. The way she held her body was confident, giving off the vibe she was a strong, independent individual. Still, whenever she laughed or rolled her eyes, there was a bright gleam in her eyes. The guy to my right obviously was ADHD for something because he kept fidgeting in his seat or tapping on the desk. His sea green eyes shown when he looked over to the girl.

I didn't want to be caught staring so I looked away and focused on the class. Stop judging my habits. I like trying to figure out people without really knowing them.

Then the kid who sat in front of me turned around and laughed.

"You stuck there now? I was in your position but decided to move. It's kinda annoying having those two lovebirds giggling and everything in class. I'm already distracted in class. Leo by the way." He said.

"Autumn."

So, throughout class we talked when the teacher wasn't looking and passed notes. Once the bell rang, I went straight to 2nd period, Leo next to me. Katie and Calypso had the same class as me. Calypso doesn't actually have 2nd period the same but after talking to the office they changed her schedule. But on our way, we got stopped by a hand on my shoulder. I turned and saw the girl who was on my left during first period smiling brightly at me, the guy, who I presumed was her boyfriend, next to her.

"Yo wassap ma homies." Leo said, his hand up for a high five. The girl ignore him and he put his hand down.

"Hey, sorry about the being sandwiched between Percy and I during class. I'm Annabeth by the way." She held her hand out.

I took her hand. "Autumn."

"You have Mr. Yates (don't question me) next? We do too! You wanna walk together?"

"How'd you know?"

"Because you're walking with this dolt," she gestured towards Leo, "and I know he's not dumb enough to walk to the wrong class."

We all laughed while Leo tried to put on a mad look, but failing miserably.

We all walked together, talking about random stuff. Percy and Annabeth had the same schedule because they "pulled some strings in the office," but besides 1st and 2nd period on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, we didn't have any more classes together. Tuesday and Thursday, we had 3 classes the same. On the other hand, Leo and I had a few more classes together on both groups of days.

My recently made friends weren't there yet, so I sat next to them. I watched as the room became flooded with students, talking, laughing, and smiling. Then I saw the familiar figures I was looking for. They're face's lit up when they saw me. Then their eyes fixed on the people next to me and they screamed. Percy, Annabeth, and Leo looked up and their faces brightened.

I now look back and compare the scene with one of those cheesy slow motion running moments. They ran towards each other, crashing into another as they hugged. And once again, I was life out, staring at the scene in front of me. This time, Leo was part of the squad, hugging Calypso and pecking her face.

So I kinda just stood there awkwardly, watching their tiny reunion.

"So I'm guessing you all know each other?" I asked.

They laughed and nodded.

"We know each other from camp. We didn't know they were coming today..." Leo told me, raising an eyebrow when he said the last part.

"Well, we wanted to troll you, so we told you the time the other kid was coming." Katie replied.

"The 'other kid?'" Percy asked, a glint in his eye.

We all laughed. The bell rang and we took our seats.

•••a few days later•••
(It's Thursday btw

I heard my last alarm screaming at me and I mentally cursed. My last alarm went off at 6:30 and I needed to leave by 6:50. I rushed to the bathroom, using mouthwash instead of brushing my teeth and ran to my room, throwing on clothes that I luckily had set out the night before. I ran back to the bathroom, spitting out my mouthwash and rinsed my mouth. My footsteps loud as I ran down the stairs, I sprinted into the kitchen, throwing some batter made in the previous night and let it cook as I got my stuff ready and put on my shoes.

I ate it, running to school. I heard the warning bell ring as I walked up the steps to my school. I stepped into class, everyone still talking because the second bell hadn't rung yet. I sat in my seat, pulling out my phone and texted the group chat.

Hey guys sorry I was late today couldn't go to the café with you guys

Yeah that works.
I'll ask the others

period. They stupidly

all of them.

The bell rang, and everyone rushed to their seat and put away other stuff. The teacher walked in with a boy. Sorry, correction, a super good looking boy.

I usually didn't care about looks, but he caught my eye. Bright, mischievous blue eyes with a mop of brown hair, everyone slightly looking up to see his tall figure.

He introduced himself as Travis Stoll, winking when someone pointed out his name sounded like Travis stole.

My thoughts raced. What's his personality? Would he be nice? Or is he a jerk like the majority of the school's population of boys.

But my thoughts were interrupted as Travis took the seat in front of me. The teacher continued the lesson.

Travis toyed around with his pencil and other things as the teacher talked, clearly not interested in the lesson.

After the period ended, being my usual confident self, (kinda) tapped Travis on the shoulder as he was leaving.

I introduced myself, mentally dying when he smiled. He told me about himself as we walked out of the classroom. He had classes with the others next period and I had no one. We parted ways and I walked to second period.

::lunch::

My friends and I only had classes together after lunch so once 5th period ended, I went straight to lunch. I found them sitting in their usual table and sat down on the edge next to Annabeth. We laughed and talked for a while until I heard a familiar voice behind me.

"Hey what's up guys?"

I turned around to see the one and only Travis Stoll. I eyes widened.

"Dude what took you so long? You already messed up?" Percy asked, taking a bite of his sandwich.

"Ha ha yah. The famous Stoll has struck again. I kinda flung a pencil at the teacher..."

"TRAVIS!" Katie exclaimed, "WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?!"

"It was an honest mistake." Travis held his arms out in a defensive way. "I was making a rubber band bow and arrow out of pencils and well, it went bizzerk."

Everyone rolled their eyes, except Leo.

"Respect for the whole bow and arrow thing man."

That was when Travis noticed me.

"Oh Summer, was it?" Travis asked me with a smirk.

"Ha ha, it's Autumn." I corrected, catching onto the joke.

He squeezed in between Katie and Annabeth and proceeded to take out his lunch.

Lunch continued with us talking about random stuff and Katie slapping Travis for certain things. Finally we got to the topic of how they all knew each other.

"Wait, Autumn, you don't know how we all know each other right?" Annabeth asked.

"Nope."

"We know each other from a summer camp and they decided to move to this school since we were here and they were generally in the area. Travis was a little late because he had to finish some business with his brother back in New York." She explained.

"Oh. What's this summer camp?"

"Umm it's a special camp for people who have ADHD and stuff like that. We feel more comfortable being around each other."

I sighed, my hopes of seeing Travis over the summer died.

We continued talking about random stuff until the period ended. Katie and I have the same class next period so I waited next to her as she tidied her stuff. But since I was next to her, I happened to glance over right as Travis turned and kissed her cheek, saying goodbye.

Trying to flush out the feeling of heartbreak, I raised my eyebrow at Katie and she blushed.

"You guys a thing?" I asked.

She blushed again and nodded. And there goes that little string of hope.

Generally, that put me in a bad mood for the rest of the day. But you know, you gotta hide it.

I met up with everyone after school and we all walked to the nearest café. Of course I was jealous of the way Travis and Katie looked at each other, and I felt like a seventh wheel, but Leo seemed to understand and proceeded to make conversation with me.

After a while, the jealously subsided and I just felt truest happy for everyone. I could tell that they've been through a lot. Tears rim my eyes as I look towards the people who have made my life amazing these past years, and I heard my named being called. As I walk, I hear my group cheering me on, loud and clear away from the crowd.
