Val’s POV
I overslept. Dam it. I pull on the Camp Halfblood t-shirt that my siblings gave me and start my trek down to the dining pavilion for breakfast. I head over to Cabin 7’s table and sit next to Kayla, Austin, Will, and a few other Apollo campers. Last night I’d gotten to know them pretty well, and they’d all been super friendly. I order some food, as do the rest of my siblings, and we dig in. A few minutes later Maddy and Amelia start walking over. "Hi!"  I say as they approach.

“Hi," Maddy says with a slightly uncomfortable look on her face. 
“What's wrong?" Maddy and Amelia look me in the eye. "Maddy told me that she woke up this morning and had a feeling that something bad was going to happen,” Amelia murmurs quietly so my siblings don’t overhear. “I don’t know for sure though. It’s just this strange feeling. I bet nothing will even-" Maddy starts saying before one of my younger siblings, Joe Lloyd, throws up all over the floor, just barely missing my feet. Lucia, an Apollo kid with navy blue hair and dark-brown eyes, looks up and immediately starts screaming at Maddy and Amelia, “WHAT DID YOU DO TO MY LITTLE BROTHER?" Maddy and Amelia look at each other in confusion. 
"What do you mean?" 

"You poisoned him!" Lucia yells. "I hate you!"

"The feeling is mutual," Amelia whispers under her breath. 
"What?" Lucia asks with a confused expression.
"Nothing," Amelia takes a deep breath, and Lucia's face goes into an angry frown again.
"How dare you poison my little brother you nasty piece of- of-"
Amelia is starting to get annoyed, I can see it in her eyes. After all, we have been friends for a long time. 

"I did what now? Why the heck would I poison your brother, he hasn't done anything to me! Go talk to Chiron before you start blaming people, you have no right to say that I-"

"No right?!" Lucia was getting on my nerves too now. "You're a child of Hades, why wouldn't you poison him? It'll help expand your father’s kingdom."

"Well," I interrupt, "if you have read The Lighting Thief, you would know that when Percy went to the underworld, Hades said that he didn't want his kingdom to be any bigger. Too much paperwork."

Lucia looks at me like I'm crazy, which I probably am, but she doesn’t need to know that. Then she turns to sneer at Maddy.
“Well if YOU didn’t do it daughter of Hades, it must have been Percy’s new little sister. Already tired of living in your brother’s shadow?” She taunts.

“Excuse me? Why the hell would I do something like that?! And for your information, Percy and I get along very well. I’m proud to be his sister!” She snaps, giving Lucia a look of disgust.  I don't really know what to do, so I just watch as Amelia huffs angrily and speeds back towards the Hades table. I turn around to find Maddy still standing there, arms crossed, in a stare-down with Lucia. Eventually, Lucia blinks and looks away. Maddy gives a victorious little “hmph”, shoots Lucia one last seething glare, and then turns on her heel and stalks back towards her cabin. Then I face Lucia.

“HFRJWQIGD, WHAT THE HECK?!?!?!" I splutter angrily.
"What?" She asks. 

"YOU DON'T JUST FRICKIN BLAME PEOPLE FOR YOUR BROTHER THROWING UP JUST BECAUSE THEY HAPPENED TO ARRIVE THE SECOND HE STARTS TO FEEL QUEASY!" "WELL, IF ANYTHING YOU SHOULD BE APOLOGIZING TO ME FOR YOUR FRIENDS. THEY POISONED MY BROTHER!" 

“THEY. DID. NOT. POISON. HIM." I screech. Then a ray of light flashes right next to where Lucia was standing . She looked like she was gonna explode. Then she grabbed her brother and left. I growl angrily and race towards the Apollo cabin. I’m in and out as fast as I can. I don’t want to get caught here alone with Lucia. Grabbing my book and my flashlight, I head out to the strawberry fields to read.
