1 - Liu kang
Mortal Kombat 1

Being a god was complicated enough, but being the Keeper Of Time? That was an even more complicated job, but Liu Kang knew that this was the right way, the path to peace.
Although peace wasn't the only thing that existed in his timeline. People like Havik, Shang Tsung or Quan Chi existed solely to provoke chaos and destruction, destinies that they weren't meant to experience once more.
Speaking of destinies, yours in the past timeline was one of the most unfortunate. You were a victim to Raiden's wrath. Your soul was resurrected and used by Quan Chi's dark magic, and did things you would have hated yourself for eternity if you were concious.
Your death had an impact on Liu Kang, as you were good friends, so he dedicated a piece of his powers to assure that you would get to live your life without pain or suffering.
He waited patiently for your time to come for existence, and when it came, everytime he looked at you, he saw a piece of Kitana in your soul. Maybe because he had feelings for you before he saw you die in his arms in the past. He knew that his relationship with Kitana was impossible, since they were both keepers of time in their timelines, and she wanted him to be happy, so why not? Why wouldn't he allow himself a little happiness?
So, then, he pursued you. He offered to train you, bringing you meaningless gifts every month. He knew how to flirt or be romantic, he was human once, after all.
You were beautiful. Your soul was inspired by Liu Kang's memories of you, and a few thoughts of Kitana. In his eyes, you were perfect. A combination of everything he liked.
However, when titan Shang Tsung interfered with Liu Kang's timeline, you were brought to the brink of death multiple times, and this angered the god. With time passing, he learned the art of patience, but seeing you in such a state drove him mad.
______
When Shang Tsung was defeated, everything went back to normal... or what was close to that. Ever since he revealed the fact that he was your creator, you saw him differently. Now, you were the one bringin him gifts out of respect and worship, even though he insisted on the fact that he wanted none of that.
______
You walked towards the top of the stairs of the monastery, where the god watched the monks train. You brought him some tea, in case he was thirsty.
"Excuse me, My Lord?", you asked as he turned his head towards you, "Please, sit" he responded, as you did not complain and sat on the cushion next to him, putting the tea in front of Liu Kang, on the table.
"Why do you do all this?" he asked. You looked confused towards him "Do what?" . "Bring me all this... Even though i told you that I do not want worship, just respect"
You looked at one of the monks failing a move by a few inches, only to be scolded by his friend. "Before all this madness, you brought me all those small gifts, and i feel in debt, even more so that you revealed yourself as a Keeper Of Time". At your remark he sighed "I wish this would have never happened. That way you would still think of me as just a god.". That made you raise your brow "Why?"
He looked you in the eyes "In the previous timeline, i was a mere mortal. A shaolin monk. You existed there too. We had... a sort of connection, that was more than just friendly. It was special. It made me feel special long before i became earthrealm's champion or met Kitana, you were the one who kept my mind at peace". You were absolutely flabbergasted at that "I-" you took a deep breath in, "Did I mishear you..?". He only shook his head. "I brought you all those gifts because i want to relive those moments with you. One way or another. I want to feel the same feelings i had when i was a mortal. Even if you cannot remember them, i could teach you everything you did for us back then."
His words had you speechless. You were in a relationship with THE Lord Liu Kang in a past life?
"So...do you agree?" He asked you. You couldn't lie, you found him attractive, mentally and phisycally. "I..." you always found such moments cringe, for no specific reason, so all you did was nod.
He smiled at that. "Thank you, y/n. Thank you for giving me this opportunity once more."
You smiled at one another. One small special moment led to another, then another, and so on. Now, people didn't see you just as a warrior who fought beside earthrealm's strongest fighters, but also as a delicate woman who was under Lord Liu Kang's protection and love.
Him being a god brought difficulties to your relationship, though. All the work he had to do kept him from seeing you most of the time, during the day, but he tried to spend as much time as possible by your side at nightfall, just so that he would get to see you fall in a peaceful slumber in his arms, and wake you up early in the morning to help you get your day started by his side.
One night, you sat outside your house, in the small garden you kept clean and beautiful, waiting for Liu Kang to appear.
Looking at the moon, you felt a presence behind you. "Beautiful, isnt it? The moon hides hundreds of secrets not even the Elder Gods can reveal". You recognized that voice. You turned around to see none other than your love, Liu Kang. He took a seat next to you, on the grass. "I sense curiosity, y/n, what troubles your mind?"
You smiled at how easily he could figure the slightest thing that went wrong. "I'm just wondering.. how was I? Y'know.. back then". Silence fell between the two of you for a few seconds "You...were something special. Raiden had warned me that you could 'possibly disrupt my training for the tournament', but I didn't listen. You were kind to everybody, even though, to some people, you wished you would have had the guts to shout and beat them in a fight. You saw the good in some people, that not even I could see"
You smiled "Really? I could never imagine myself like that, I'm sure i'll never achieve that-", you were intrerrupted by a loud chuckle. "This is a flaw I never managed to perfect. You've always thought of yourself as lower than others, both then and now."
You looked him in the eyes, as he reciprocated the gesture. You were the one who broke the silence "How did I get so lucky in the past?"
He chuckled, much quieter than last time, though, "I should be the one to ask that to myself" Liu Kang said, as he placed one hand on your cheek "You are truly a treasure anyone would be lucky to even search for"
