Wings
My wings are in what Jin called the "baby" phase. I could fully fly with it but the wings weren't as effective as they would be. The wings symbolized the coming of my death. It's funny that the wings tell me that I'm gonna die and the only reason I'm doing my death thing is because of the wings, so the wings causes its own existence. I would explain it better but I'm not good with paradoxes.
I was standing in the mountain resort that I first awoke in a long time ago. Or so it seems, it was just a couple of days ago. I had my climbing gear in hand to hook up to someone's belt just in case. We were so high up, even with my great head for heights, it was still mind-dizzying.
"Who do you want to be attached to?" Taehyung asked me sweetly. I shrugged. "I was thinking Yoongi, ya know, your husband?" I flipped him off briefly.
"I'm going to take that as a yes," Yoongi said from behind. I almost jumped higher than Everest (which is not that much taller than this mountain). I flipped him off briefly.
"You two look amazing! Let me take a picture!" Jin cried enthusiastically, he had a pink polaroid out. I flipped him off briefly when he took the picture. Yoongi was doing the same. "I'll take that, you two look so cute doing something in sync!" Jin cooed over us like a mother hen.
In truth, despite the continued flipping off people, I was scared as hell. It's also been a long time since I checked it, but it was one of a bat's. I stretched my wings out and tried to look at it. It was large, with what seems to be about a 1 to one and a half meters long. They were leathery and thick, rough to my touch. I could feel my hands on it.
"I've honestly never seen bat wings on any immortal in my lifetime," Namjoon told me. Interesting.
"Kay. Our job today is to teach Her Majesty, The Queen how to fly. If she falls, catch her, but no pressure!" Namjoon quickly briefed everyone. I just sat there waiting for him to finish. I burned some grass in boredom. It was wet from rain (that's what happen when you literally live under rocks) and I made sure that the grass I was sitting on was not wet. Soon, Namjoon finished what seems to be a very long lecture. Almost as bad as college. Almost. Nothing is worse than college lectures.
"Let's go," Yoongi told me. It gets really nostalgic as Yoongi fumbled with the clip of my gear. I hooked it onto his belt in annoyance of his clumsy person. The rope was really long in comparison to last time so that I have the freedom to fly wherever I want.
"Anytime you're ready," Yoongi told me. Unlike last time, he wasn't gonna push me off. I calmed my breathing and elbowed Yoongi so that he knew that I was gonna jump off.
Then, I jumped.
