Training (And A Lava Bath)
So Hobi's volunteered for training me with the sword. I mean practice weapons (more like glorified sticks) since we don't want to kill each other. Oh yeah, by the way, my servants (I know right) got me some contacts so I could see. Hobi is really good at it, he has intense footwork that I'm trying really hard to replicate. He also tells me that I need to improvise. I don't think that's possible for me. I mean, I can improvise, but not well. The boys are helping me on that one with a bunch of weird situations that they made up.
We also worked on the prophecy. What it means by "the fjord" for starters. I know that fjord is a Scandinavian name for a dock, so are we fighting in some sort of northern European dock? Also why is it magical? Some of them are easy enough to interpret, not gonna name what they are. I also learned more about this world's mythology and religions and stuff like that.

"Follow through with your body," Hobi told me, teaching me how to thrust with a sword correctly, "That way, you put the power of your shoulders and your foot into it." Did I mention that swordplay is way more complicated than two people whacking at each other? Nevertheless, I followed Hobi's instructions and hit the padded dummy with what I thought was reasonable force. "Now put some emotion into it!" Hobi yelled at me. My shoulders are throbbing and my wrist dying at that point.
After we were done with thrusting, we ate lunch. For the first time, I noticed how delicious Hell's food was.
"One would assume that Hell had bad food." I brought it up over lunch. Hobi was scarfing down ramen, Yoongi was stuffing lettuce in his mouth, and Taehyung slurping over some soup.
"One can assume," Namjoon replied eating less vigorously than the others, "We like to live in luxury. One might call that a sin, living too luxuriously, but we are in Hell. This is where the sinners are." I nodded. It definitely made sense.
After a break after lunch, since it wasn't good for your digestion to exercise right after eating, Hobi started teaching me defensive moves like parrying (which still is pretty aggressive since you were deflecting a blow then attacking), dodging, and rolling. He told me that a wise man knew when it was time to retreat, I asked him that "didn't a wise man also say to pick your fights?" implying that I really didn't have a choice in this. To that, Hobi said yes. Then launched into a long lecture about when to attack, when to step aside, where to fight, when to fight, how to tease the enemy, and look for faults.
In my opinion, the most useful thing he taught me was to relax my grip on the sword. That was a little confusing because if one maintains a strong grip on one's sword, the sword won't be taken easily from their hand. Then he taught me how and when to tighten my grip on the sword so that my wrist won't tire easily. The downside was that my wrist was already very tired. Even with the wrist strength and stamina of a mountain climber.
When practice was finally over, I could wash. I was impatient to get to it. I also told a random servant to turn the temperature up. He did. The boys said they had a surprise for me.
"So this is where we bathe," Jimin told me. It was a lava pool. I stared inquiringly at him.
"You're immune to fire." He said. I didn't stop staring at him. "I didn't know it, too. When it happened to me, I was so confused. I also learned the hard way that even though I could withstand it, my clothes can't.
"Well, maybe it's because of the fact that you're immortal?" I asked him sarcastically.
"No, I was mortal. Here dip in a finger to test it." Jimin told me.
"Unlike some people, I don't want to sacrifice a finger," I said coldly. Taehyung, without me knowing, got lava (or magma. Okay, technically magma) on my hand. Surprisingly, I'm not dead. The magma just acted like water, sitting there in little droplets and slowly dripping onto the floor. It was also hot.
"Now, unlike your body, your clothes aren't lava resistant. You might want to take those off." Namjoon told me. I made no move to remove bodily accessories. Jin pulled Namjoon away, outside. The others followed his lead.
You know, a lava bath is really relaxing. It's like a hot tub. I also noticed how it literally burned away the sweat and dirt on my body. When I was done, some souls came over and basically rubbed me lava-free. I was wondering how one would dry a lava wet person. A towel definitely won't do.
