Next morning...

Surprisingly, this morning's beeping alarm didn't bothered me as usual.

Something felt different yesterday too. I was definitely more... energetic.

Wow. Guess it must be the new coffee.

Why hadn't I tried it before?

Rising from bed with a smile planted on my face, I made my way to the kitchen to prepare my coffee before doing anything else. Shower and teeth brushing could wait.

I was dying to have a hot cup of coffee this morning.

With an eagerness I hadn't felt in ages, I poured the grounds into the coffee maker, but my hand slipped, adding more than I meant to. I almost corrected it, but a strange feeling held me back. Why not make it stronger? I shrugged. A bigger cup wouldn't hurt.

As it brewed, the aroma thickened, filling the kitchen so completely that I felt wrapped in it. Richer, deeper—almost too strong, but addictive. I leaned in, taking a deep breath, savoring it. For a moment, I was almost in a trance, just breathing it in.

When the coffee was ready, I poured a mug and brought it to my lips, the smell clinging to my skin. I took a long sip, feeling the heat almost burn my throat, but I didn't care. The bitterness was sharper today, leaving an aftertaste that felt... odd. Almost metallic. But the rush that hit me was even better than yesterday.

I probably drank a second one before going to work, but jolly molly, what a great day this was going to be!

Electric! If I had to describe this day it had to be like that.

Work hours rushed by, and I didn't even notice them as I worked on my tasks. I'm usually drained, but today, just like yesterday... wow.

The hum of conversations, distant phone calls and noise in general that usually bothered me, was absurd today.

This had to be the first time in my life that I've felt so alive, and it all thanks to the new coffee. Such an elixir.

I should definitely buy another bag on my way home. Just in case.
