Wastelanders
Okay, folks. This is gonna serve as a pilot for a possible idea.
MARVEL WASTELANDERS!
So....yeah. If you like it then let me know and maybe it'll be a story.
------------
The Desert was as dry as ever. The sound of nothingness rang in the ears of the stranger that stalked it's lands.
Ash: Any signs of them?
You stopped and looked back to the girl who was following you. You had tried to tell her to stay away, but she refused to listen. She had ended up following you all the way from Hammer Falls, so why would she turn back now anyway?
Y/N: No. No sign of them yet.
Ash: Well, where could they be? It's only been a day.
You turned back and continued your walk. The old bomer jacket that you wore was almost making you sweat, but you found that you enjoyed the extra heat. Besides, the jacket hid your guns.
Y/N: They have horses and bikes, Ash.
Ash: And you have your...thing.
You looked back at her as you walked.
Y/N: My "thing"?
Ash nodded.
Ash: Yeah. You know. That thing where you can...do whatever it is you do.
You narrowed your eyes at her. It was a one time fluke. You didn't even know how you did it in the first place. And you didn't even know how it would help you in this situation.
Ash: We need to find them.
Y/N: You're lucky I'm even letting you tag along. Your mom would kill me if she knew you were out here.
Ash: Let me worry about my mom. We got Ghost Riders to hunt.
You rolled your eyes. It was hard to think that you were the same age as this girl. Maybe you are older. You seriously wished you knew.
You reached the edge of a cliff and looked out at the area below. You kneeled down when you spotted a group. Those had to be the bandits.
Ash: So, what's the plan?
You looked to your left to see that she was already pulling out her bow. You stopped her by placing your hand over hers. You them shook your head.
Ash: What? Come on. I can help.
Y/N: Or you can get in the way. Let me handle this.
Ash sighed. She knew it was pointless to try and argue with you over it. You looked back to the gathered bandits. You could see that a few were applying their skull makeup while others worked on their motorcycles.
You got up and made your way over to the side while Ash kept watch.
Moments later, you began to approach the bandits. They began to notice you as you began to raise your hands.
Y/N: Howdy. How are y'all doing?
The Riders rose to their feet, some grabbing chains and crowbars, while you came to a stop. Their leader stood up and began to walk your way.
Leader: And who the hell are you?
You offered a friendly smile.
Y/N: That's a great question there. Wish I had the right answer, but I suppose people just call me Y/N.
They didn't seem amused.
Leader: Wrong answer.
Y/N: No shit. I just told you I didn't have the right one.
You sighed. You needed to keep your composure.
Y/N: Look, you folks took something that was very important to someone. I'm here to get it back. If you can comply, I won't have to take you down.
They all stared at you, then they laughed. You dropped your hands as they all just pointed and laugh. To be fair, it was a bold claim.
It would be 29 or so to 1.
Leader: Boy, you must be one dumb son of a bitch.
His smile immediately dropped.
Leader: Kill him.
Y/N: Of course.
They moved to take you down, but the first one to step forward suddenly dropped where he stood following a bang!
The gang looked at you to see you were now holding a revolver in one hand, with your other ready to grab a second. And when another opened his mouth to speak, he was shot with a second.
Leader: What the fuck?!
Thug: How is he doing that?!
You shrugged.
Y/N: I guess this is just....my thing.
Leader: Kill him!
The rest of the gang moved in to take you down, but you were already on the move. You rushed forward, sliding under a flying chain. You kicked the leg out from under one thug before leaping up and firing another shot that landed in the chest of another.
You flipped your gun around and slammed the handle into the nose of another man. When he fall backwards, you fired off two more shots that landed two headshots. The Leader moved to attack you from behind, but he was instead met with an arrow to the hand.
He let out a scream as he dropped the pipe he had planned to hit you with. From the ledge, Ash smirked.
Ash: He totally needed me for backup.
She pulled back her bow again before firing off another arrow.
You turned and delivered a roundhouse kick to the face of one of the thugs, giving Ash the opening to hit them with another arrow. Finally, you shot the last thug.
Leader: Y-You fucking psycho!
You turned around and found the leader still laying in the ground, holding his injured hand as he bleed. You began to walk towards him while you discarded the empty shells from your revolver.
You began to reload.
Y/N: I gave you a choice, sir. You chose the hard road. I don't know what my morals were before I woke up in the middle of nowhere, but I already had to deal with your type. The Ghost Riders tried to hurt a friend of mine. A good man.
You came to a stop and spun the chamber before aiming it at the man.
Y/N: Now, let's try this again. You took something that wasn't yours.
You narrowed your eyes at him.
Y/N: Where did you put the helmet?
Leader: Fuck you, man! D-Did that fucking kid send you?
Y/N: No. His uncle. But at least you know what I'm looking for. Where is it?
Ash: Better start talking before he pulls that trigger.
Ash approached two of you with her bow at the ready. You both stood over the man as he looked at you both with terror in his eyes.
--------------
You and Ash approved Josie's Bar with the helmet at your side. The area was silent, but you knew you weren't alone. You both entered where you found a man behind the counter and a boy on the floor, playing with some scrap metal.
The man looked up from the glass he was cleaning when he heard you enter.
Turk: You're back!
Ash: You sound surpised.
Ash took a seat at the bar while you looked over to the boy. Turk and Ash both watched as you walked over to him and kneeled down.
Y/N: Dwight.
The boy looked up at you as you pulled the helmet out. You held it towards him as he stared. Slowly, he took it and placed it back on his head.
You stood up and took a step back as the boy activated it. From the cracks and holes came dozens of ants.
Dwight: My friends.
He then looked up at you.
Dwight: Thank you, mister.
You smiled as you tipped your hat at him. Dwight went back to his tinkering while you reached the bar with Ash.
Ash: Two beers.
Turk: You're both children.
Y/N: Children you sent to do your dirty work. Two beers.
Turk grumbled, but he couldn't really say no. He did owe you payment, after all. He reached under the counter and pulled out two warm beers. He placed them onto the counter and you both grabbed one.
You pulled out a pistol and used it to open the bottle before opening Ash's. You both then tapped them to each other. You then took a drink.
Ash: So, what do we do now?
You thought about it for a moment. You have seem so much since you woke up and Red found you. So much pain and suffering. It stirred something inside of you.
You could do more than some simple jobs.
You took another drink before setting your beer down. You then pulled out your mapping device.
Y/N: I think.....I think it's time I did something stupid.
--------------
And that's the pilot for Wastelanders.
Set in the Old Man Logan universe, this story would follow the MC and his allies as they try and free America from the clutches of evil....though it may already be too late.
So....yeah. If this seems like something you guys want to see turned into a full story, let me know.
Lexi out!
