Totally Lame (Totally Spies)
It was just a normal day at Beverly Hills. Among the students walking down the halls of Beverly Hills High School were three very particular girls.
Sam, Clover, and Alex. Sam, the red head who was prone to wearing green, Clover, the blonde who was prone to red, and Alex, with the short hair and yellow shirt, were students with a double life. They were spies.
You know this. If you're reading this chances are you know the whole story, so I'm skipping it.
Clover: That Pop Quiz in Mr. Landon's class, like, totally killed me. I was so not prepared.
Sam: It wasn't that bad. But, yeah. It was a bit hard.
Alex, however, said nothing. The two girls looked to their friend and waited for her to say something, but she just walked along, an extra pep in her step.
Clover: Uh, Alex?
Alex realized her friend was trying to get her attention and looked to them both.
Alex: Huh?
Clover: We were talking about that totally bogus pop quiz in Mr. Landon's class. Why are you spacing out?
Sam: Yeah, and why are you smiling so much? Not that I'm complaining, but you seem really happy for someone who just sat through a hour long test.
Alex looked away and scratched her cheek with a nervous look.
Alex: Well, I kinda just breezed through it.
Clover: What?!
Alex: I got tutored.
Sam: You did? By who?
Alex stood there in silence. Clover narrowed her eyes and Sam waited for an answer.
Alex: Uh, Y/N.
Clover: The dork?
Sam elbowed her friend and crossed her arms in anger.
Sam: That "dork" also makes all our gadgets and gives us assistance on the field. You should be nicer to him.
Alex: Yeah. And he's cute for a dork, you know.
Sam and Clover looked at her. Alex shrugged.
Alex: If you actually talked to him outside of missions, you'll know that he's actually pretty nice. And funny.
Clover: Oh, gag.
Clover made a face and Sam elbowed her again. You were most definitely not Clover's type, but you never held it against her. Like Sam said, you also worked for WOOHP, but not as an agent.
You worked for tech analyst and gadget design. You were also the one the girls would call if they needed help with a device or any machine they may come across.
And speak of the devil....
Y/N: Hey-yo.
The girls looked up to see you walking in their direction with a hand up as a greeting. Your hair was a mess and choppy. Your clothes were disheveled and you wore a pair of glasses that Clover believed were too round. Even your backpack was so old that there was a hole on one of the pockets and was held closed by a safety pin.
Your shoes were dirty and you had a pin on your backpack strap which was from your favorite sci-fi show. You also wore a few rubber bracelets with animated characters from some anime you watched.
So, yeah.
Dorky.
You were on your way to class, but you just so happened to have been passing by so you decided to at least say hi. You definitely weren't expecting Alex to suddenly hug you with a squeal.
Alex: Thank you soooo much for tutoring me! You were totes right about that Pop Quiz!
You didn't really know what to do. A girl hugging you is....not normal. You especially didn't like all the looks you were getting. So, instead of hugging her back, you pulled her off you and smiled awkwardly.
Y/N: Uh, no problem.
You stood there for a bit, then walked past them and headed to class with your shoulder slumped and eyes darting around. The three watched until you were gone before looking to Alex.
Clover: Like I said. Dork.
Sam: What was that about?
Alex: I dunno. Maybe he just doesn't like hugs?
The answer was unknown.
------------------
Sam: Duck!
The girls dove behind cover as the enemy kept firing. They were now on the field and they had their mission. Jerry needed them to investigate and stop a mysterious string of robberies. Turns out, it was the doing of Pop Star Lola, a....a pop star.
She wanted all the jewelry after she ended up wearing the same necklace as another singer. Talk about shallow.
But, they were pinned down. And none of their gadgets were really useful in this situation. They blamed Clover.
Alex: Nice one, Clover!
Clover: How was I suppose to know it had an alarm attached to it?!
Sam: Why did you touch it in the first place?!
They hid behind a few crates that were slowly getting stripped away with every blast. However, they would not suffer their end here. It seemed like their guardian angel was looking down upon them yet again.
Agent X: Mind if I jump in?
The enemy soldiers looked up to see a man standing in the beams overhead. He wore an all black suit with a black helmet.
Clover: X!
The soldiers turned their attention to the new arrival and opened fire. Agent X remained unfazed and leaped down. He landed and threw a few small pallets which erupted into a cloud of smoke. The girls peeked over their cover, but they couldn't see anything. They did hear the sounds of fighting, however.
After a few moments, one soldier came flying out of the smoke and crashed into a crate, unconscious. The smoke cleared and out came the only one standing, Agent X.
The girls walked out into the open as the mysterious agent approached them.
Agent X: Looks like I made it just in time. Jerry said you girls were in trouble so I'd figured I'd swing by.
Clover, who now had heart eyes, simply stared at the agent. Thanks to his suit, she got to see the muscled frame of her fellow agent. Not just that, but his voice was like that of an action hero. It also helped that he was always there to save the three of them if things got too bad.
Sam: You couldn't have came at a better time.
Agent X: I'm glad you girls are safe.
Clover suddenly appeared beside him, her hand clasped together and a massive smile on her face.
Clover: How can we ever repay you? Maybe dinner?
Agent X crossed his arms with a sigh.
Agent X: Clover, we've been over this. I'll always help you girls. We're all WOOHP agents, after all.
He pulled out his communication device and looked at his messages. Looks like there was a new one.
Agent X: I gotta go. Good luck with your mission.
The girls watched as he shot out a grapple and swung back up to the beams. He then leaped out a window and was gone immediately.
Alex: I'm not the only one that things he's a bit weird, right?
Clover's love struck daze was suddenly shattered. She turned to Alex with a face of annoyance.
Clover: Oh, and Y/N isn't?
Alex: What does Y/N have to do with this?
The two started to argue, making Sam sigh. This was her life now, wasn't it?
-------------------
You sat in the library and read over a book that was layered with dust when you found it. You would read a few lines until you came across something worth noting, then wrote it down in your journal. It was full of notes from various subjects ranging from computer science to biometrics. History, math, philosophy, trivia, even points of literature filled your journals.
You wanted to know as much as you could, because you never knew what you needed to know. It was one of the things that always killed you.
You wished you knew more. But, you only knew what you knew. Was it enough to save the people you cared about? So many were relying on your inventions and gadgets. If they failed, if you failed, it could cost them their lives.
So you needed to know. It was just a fact.
Sam: Boo.
You jumped, being scared by the red head who had come here to do research for an essay she needed to write. You held your chest as she sat across from you.
Sam: Sorry. I was just trying to spook you, not make you jump out of your skin.
Y/N: It's okay.
Sam looked at the pile of books you had collected from the last few hours and began to wonder just how long you had been here. It was the weekend, so you could've been here since opening for all she knew.
She'd rather be at the mall with Clover and Alex, but the paper was due Monday and she had been falling behind. Still, she began to wonder if you had anything better to do. You had friends, right?
Sam: Have you been here all day?
You just nodded, already back to your research.
Y/N: Jerry isn't allowing me to go in for the weekend. Said that I needed to take some time off since I never do.
Sam: And you're using your day off to sit in a library reading books that are bigger than our school textbooks?
You shrugged.
Y/N: It's not like I have anything better to do.
Sam eyed you suspiciously. You really had nothing better to do? Not go see a movie or something? She looked at her own book and thought about it. She finally sighed.
Sam: Come on.
You looked up to see her standing up.
Y/N: What?
Sam: I said come on. We're gonna go do something fun.
You already didn't the idea.
---------------
Y/N: How is this fun?
Sam tried on a dress while you sat there watching. Any guy would kill for this, but you were more or less confused as to why she was doing this. You weren't really friends. Just collages from work and classmates from school. And you definitely weren't dating.
Sam: Well, I find mixing and matching clothes and finding cute outfits to be fun.
Y/N: So when you said "we're gonna go do something fun", you meant you were gonna do something fun.
Sam looked at you and sighed. She then sat next to you.
Sam: Well, we would be doing something you like if you would just tell me what you do for fun.
You held up your hand and began to count on your fingers.
Y/N: I like making things, fixing things, reading, watching Starblast Frontiers, and not being dragged on shopping sprees.
Sam: Starblast Frontiers?
You looked at her. Did she miss that whole spill?
Sam: Wait, you watch Starblast Frontiers?
You leaned back and nodded.
Y/N: It's my favorite show. "In the distant cosmos, adventurers search....."
Sam: "For the true final frontier!"
You looked at her surpised. How did she know the quote?
Y/N: Wait, you watch Starblast Frontiers?
Sam: I haven't missed an episode since I was 13!
This was absolutely news to you. You had never met another person in the wild like this who had seen the show. The only ones you have met have been at conventions.
But out of all the people you would have never thought to watch it, Sam and her friends were never considered.
Y/N: Huh. I don't know how to feel about this. But cool!
You and Sam both grabbed each other's hands and squealed. You were both just happy to meet a fellow fan.
But, maybe you should keep this discovery a secret.
-------------------
Sam: Keep your head down!
The three ran through the factory making mind controlled dolls. Their mission decided to go sideways when Marshall Ioh decided to show up and send his men after them.
They were out of gadgets and quickly running out of options.
Alex: We can make it to the exit!
The exit suddenly blew up. The three stopped and looked at the pile of rubble with wide eyes.
Clover: Any other bright ideas?
Alex placed her fists on her hips and turned to the blonde.
Alex: I didn't hear a single idea from you, Clover.
Sam: Girls! Focus!
Marshall: Looks like this is the end of the line for you.
The three turned around to find Marshall and his men closing in on them. They had their weapons aimed and ready to fire. This may truly be the end of them.
Agent X: You're getting ahead of yourself, Marshall.
Suddenly, a black streak dropped down behind Marshall. In mere seconds, the man was thrown with such force that he ended up flying over the girls and right into several crates that broke upon impact.
Agent X quickly moved through the group of armed guards while the girls jumped in. It didn't take long before the men were all unconscious on the floor and the authorities were on their way.
Sam: Thanks for the assist, X.
Alex: Yeah. You really saved our hide this time.
Agent X: You do know you can always just call.
Clover suddenly appeared next to her fellow agent with her phone at the ready.
Clover: Oh? Then, in that case, maybe I could get your number?
Agent X just shook his head.
Agent X: Sam already has it. Plus, your communication devices have a direct line to mine and Jerry's.
Alex and Clover both looked to Sam who just shrugged.
Sam: He gave it to me during one of our run ins.
Clover crossed her arms in annoyance before they heard beeping. Agent X pulled his communication device out and looked at it to see a call coming in.
Agent X: Got to go. See you girls around.
He waved at them before he answered the call. Once he was out of earshot, he stopped and looked at the person on screen.
Jerry: How did it go? Are they safe?
Agent X nodded. He then activated his helmet to show his face.
Y/N: Yeah, they're safe. I showed up just in time.
Jerry: Good. I'm glad you're all safe. Are you returning to base?
You nodded.
Y/N: By the way, my glasses broke, so I need a new pair.
Jerry just sighed as he put the request in.
Jerry: You're vision is beyond perfect.
Y/N: It's for cover.
Jerry: I'm aware. You should have a new pair by the end of the day. I'll see you when you get here.
You nodded and signed off. You then reactivated your helmet and headed out.
-------------------
You sat at your usual place for lunch. A quiet spot under a large tree in the courtyard. You always ate alone. You would usually watch something in your phone or get some studying done, but today you just watched the sky.
You closed your eyes and took a moment to just enjoy the moment. A lot has happened since you came here, but every second was a step closer to your goal. A goal that only you knew about.
Sam: Mind if we join you?
You opened your eyes to find the girls standing there with their own lunches. You sat up as they all took a seat around in a circle. What were they doing here?
Alex: The cafeteria was packed today, so we figured we'd eat outside.
Sam: Then we saw you. You don't mind some company, do you?
You looked to Clover who seemed a bit uneasy about being here, but she didn't say anything. You looked at the girls and smiled.
Y/N: Of course not. The more the merrier, right?
The girls began to eat and soon conversation followed. To your surpise, they actually made sure to include you. They were surpised to find that you had a fairly good grasp on fashion brands and designers. Of course, that was just because you knew what you knew.
Maybe it was enough.
But, in the end, you knew the truth. All of this would come to end one day.
The day you got your vengeance.
------------
There you have it. Totally Spies Pilot.
If you guys like this them by all means, let me know. Maybe this can get it's own little story.
