A Criminal Heart (Jinx)

Zaun was a place you always hated visiting. It was filled to the brim with the worst kinds of people around. That said a lot, too.

You grew up in Bilgewater.

But you had buiness in the underbelly of the world. You had someone you needed to meet. Someone you had been wanting to meet for some time now.

Having been raised around pirates and such, you learned all the tricks of the streets. You knew how to avoid being robbed, swindled, and ambushed. You knew how to fight and how to survive. You even began to fall into the same mindset of the bastards you were raised by.

You still hated it here. Though it wouldn't be fair to just blame the people. There was kindness here. You just had to look for it. People down on their luck also lived here. A place when they had no where else to go.

???: You're creeping around~

You stopped walking when you heard a familiar voice. You smiled as you looked over your shoulder to see the one you were looking for.

The shorter girl had a massive grin on her face. Her blue hair seemed brighter than the last time you saw her. And her eyes, her pink eyes, seemed to glow as they stared straight into your own.

Her braid that almost reached the ground swayed as she rocked side to side on her feet. She began to bite her lip when she saw you smile.

Y/N: I was wonderin' where you were lurkin'.

You fully turned around which made the girl start to bounce on the tip of her feet. You opened your arms you greet her.

Y/N: How's my girl doing? Fantastic, I hope.

Jinx wasted no time in jumping into your arms. You caught her and held her in place as she threw her own arms around your neck. She forced your head downwards so that she could slam her lips against yours.

You enjoyed the taste of her lips for a moment before you pulled away and placed her back on the ground.

Y/N: I'll take that as a "yes". Good to see you again, Blue.

Jinx: Where have you been? I was waiting all day. You know I hate waiting.

You chuckled as you placed a hand on her head.

Y/N: I got busy dealing with Piltover's finest. You know how it is.

Jinx then frowned at the mention of her sworn enemies. You knew why she hated them, but she also knew that you had a complicated relationship with both Vi and Caitlyn.

Unlike Jinx, you actually worked with the authorities. On a good day. Though you did have your own personal goals to strive for.

One of those goals was to keep Jinx out of their hands.

Jinx: Why were you with them?

You put your hands up in defense.

Y/N: They needed help with a case. I promise I didn't do anything with either of them.

Jinx crossed her arms unconvinced. You leaned down and placed a hand under her chin.

Y/N: You know you're the only woman for me.

Jinx: You say that, but then you go and hang around those hussies.

You only smirked as you turned her head towards you.

Y/N: Yet I always come back for you. I couldn't care less about them, you know that. Besides, neither of them could ever hope to take my heart away from you.

Jinx narrowed her eyes at you for a moment. She then pulled away and started to walk past you. You stood up straight again and watched while she swung her arms. Her loose hanging belt bounced with every step she took.

Jinx: Hurry up. I have a surpise for you.

You slipped your hands into your pockets and began to follow your love down the street.

It was funny how everyone always saw her as the crazy one. She was the one who blew things up, shot up Enforcers, and causing mayhem wherever she went.

In truth, you were probably the worst.

You played both sides of the law effortlessly while maintaining a surprisingly stable relationship with the Jinx of Zaun. The loose cannon herself.

When people saw the two of you together the first thing they would notice was the size difference.

Jinx was short and scrawny. She was fast and clever. Like a fox.

You were tall and broad. You were strong and smart. Like a wolf.

The second thing they would spot was the vast difference in appearance. Jinx was colorful. Blue, pink, purple, even green somedays. Her tattoos were on full display and she didn't care about how much skin she showed. She was an open book.

You loved it.

You, on the other hand, often wore darker clothing. You had the same coat on everywhere you went. Your hair was well kept and you made an effort to always keep your cards close to your chest. Your weapons remained hidden along with the tattoos that you had gotten after Jinx conceived you to take the chance. You were a mystery.

She loved it.

Puzzles to each other. Enigmas that will never be solved.

But that was part of the thrill.

Of course that wasn't the only reason the two of you chased each other around like animals. You really did love her and she was absolutely head over heels for you.

You were both mad for each other. That was why she was so damn possessive with you against Vi and Caitlyn. You were also known for breaking a few bones of whoever dared to touch her.

It was a violent dance that the two of you partnered in.

You would turn the oceans red with the blood of her enemies. She would use every last bullet she could on everyone who has ever crossed you.

It wasn't long before you found yourself in the hidden part of Zaun. A forgotten factory that Jinx had come to call home. Even you, on some days.

Maybe some day the two of you will actually have a real home together.

What really caught your attention was the candles that were lit. They formed a path towards the stairs which Jinx were walking up. You followed and soon found a table filled with food.

All your favorites.

Y/N: Oh? And what's this?

Jinx stopped walking and took a few steps back towards you. She grabbed your hand and pulled you along to the head of the table. She then pushed you into the chair which you allowed.

She then took her seat on your lap where she got comfortable.

You allowed yourself to relax and snaked an arm around her wasit to keep her close. You loved feeling her there with you. Her body against yours. It made you feel like you were actually alive.

Jinx ran her finger along your chin while you stared. Her eyes were following her finger before it moved to your neck.

She then began to play with your tie.

Jinx: It's a very special day for you. Don't you remember?

You hummed.

Y/N: Remind me.

Jinx suddenly pulled your tie free and held it up. She examined it as she flopped it around. She had the curiosity of a child sometimes. Her eyes seemed to trace every single thread while she tilted her head side to side as if she was becoming hypnotized by it.

Jinx: It's your birthday, silly. Did you really forget?

Y/N: No, I know when my birthday is. And it's not for another three months.

Jinx tossed your tie aside before she turned back to you with a smile.

Jinx: I know~ But I wanted to celebrate something today.

You lifted a hand to her cheek and pulled her closer towards you.

Y/N: Darlin', we can celebrate whatever we want whenever we want. Who's going to stop us?

Jinx: Yeah, I know. But I wanted something special. I don't get to see you anymore. I've been getting all lonely down here while you're running around in Piltover.

You laid her head against yours. You both closed your eyes, just happy to be together.

Y/N: I'm here now. And I don't plan on leavin' anytime soon. You got me all to yourself now.

Jinx suddenly sat up with a massive smile. You knew that look. She totally planned all of this.

Jinx: In that case, it's time for overraskelse nummer to!

You looked at her oddly.

Y/N: Was that Frejordian?

Jinx: Yep! I learned it from one of the vendors. Now come on!

She pulled herself free from you before she grabbed both of your hands. She pulled you to your feet and dragged you along.

Y/N: But, Love. What about the food?

Jinx: We can eat later! Come on!

You didn't want to deny her orders. You simply played one with her game.

You finally reached the backroom which acted as the bedroom. She didn't sleep as much as you did, the same amount any normal person should get, but she did still lay with you most nights.

However, you noticed the candles around the area. Fire hazards for sure, but you trusted Jinx more than anyone else in Runeterra.

Jinx kicked open the old metal door to reveal the bedroom. Looking in, you could see all the colorful art that she had done on the walls before the two of you even met.

You still remember that day. The smell of the rain and the mud. The way she looked in the light of the explosions around her. The was she laughed. The way she smiled. You fell for her instantly.

She suddenly turned you around and pushed you onto the bed. Before you had any time to react, she pounced ontop of you. She grabbed your coat with both of her hands and pulled herself down to give you a kiss.

It quickly grew heated once her tounge forced it's way through both your lips and teeth. You returned the gesture and soon you were both battling for control. You tried to sit up, but she pushed you back down.

Jinx: You aren't going anywhere~

Y/N: I need to get this coat off. I also have guns on me and I rather they don't discharge.

Jinx: Haha. And what's another scar for you to kiss?

You gave her a look. She knew that look. The one that told her that you didn't want to hurt her.

You never did.

You never even once held a hand to her in anger. You were always so gentle.

You treated her like a flower. But one that had thorns.

Explosive thorns.

If there was one thing that really separated you and Jinx, it was the fact that she never went out of her way to kill anyone during her sprees. If they were caught in the crossfire, she would feel a bit bad then move on.

You, on the other hand, killed without mercy. You were a vile, evil kind of man. A literal wolf in sheep's clothing. You didn't care who you had to slay in order to keep Jinx safe. Maybe one day it'll have to be Vi or Caitlyn.

Shame.

Oh well.

Jinx: Fine.

She got off of you and allowed you to stand up once again. You pulled your coat off as she watched. She still recalled seeing you for the first time. It wasn't during the explosion. It was after that.

She had dragged herself home after nearly being caught by Piltover's finest. Top Hat and Pinkie. She was annoyed that they had stopped her from blowing up the new clock tower.

When she walked into her room, she found you standing there. You were holding something. She was ready to attack but you stopped her by tossing the device to her.

When she activated it, the clock tower blew sky high. You had snuck into the evidence room and collected what she had left behind. You then did the job yourself.

She didn't need to know that the tower was currently being toured by some of the elite families. That was just for you. You carried that "burden", not her.

You said nothing the entire time. When all was said and done, you left. You then reappeared a few days later with a cake to celebrate her success.

She saw something in your eyes. Even though you seemed calm and collected, you were almost as insane as she was. She saw the madness that gripped your mind every second of every day. You had told her about the evil voices swirling around in your head.

She loved every bit of it.

You undid your gun strap and gently set it down on the old and broken dresser. It was mostly filled with bullets and bombs. They won't blow, though. Jinx was safer than that.

Jinx: Did you kill anyone today?

You chuckled dryly at her question.

Y/N: No. Not today, darlin'.

Jinx smiled at your name for her. She loved the way it just seemed to drip from your lips.

However, you noticed something on her arm. A dark mark. A bruise.

Y/N: What happened?

Jinx lifted her arm up and examined it as well. Without looking at you she answered nonchalantly.

Jinx: Some Enforcer tried to get me. I got away, though.

You gently grabbed her wrist and pulled her arm towards you to look at her wound. It was dark. Whoever had hurt her, whoever touched her, was rough.

Y/N: Which one?

Jinx: I dunno. Montia or Montour or...

Y/N: Montoya?

Jinx snapped her fingers.

Jinx: That's the bitch! Do you know him?

You slowly nodded. He was only a few years into being an Enforcer. Just a kid. Has a beautiful wife and two daughters. You had seen him around the station before.

He touched her? He hurt her?

Y/N: Sorry about that, Darlin'. I make sure to deal with it.

Jinx's smirk grew even wider. She heard the very thin edge on your voice. The one that told her that you were planning something.

She began to wonder if it would be messy. Or would it be cold and calculated? Maybe you'll take out the entire family? Would you do it in front of the kids.

Just thinking about it excited her.

Jinx: Really~ What are you gonna do?

You directed your attention from her arm to her eyes. They glowed a beautiful pink. It had become your favorite color simply because it was her.

You slowly began to guide her back down onto the bed. You then held her arm above her head as you hovered over her.

Y/N: He hurt the only person that I love in this world. I'm going to make him paid in full. Maybe with a bit of interest as well.

Jinx: Oh?

Y/N: Maybe Montoya will meet his end on patrol. They never had much to begin with. I'm sure that wife of his will have to resort to other means of providing for their daughters.

You moved her other arm above her head as you leaned down and began to place kiss after kiss along her neck. Jinx giggled as if you had told a cute joke.

Jinx: You're an evil man, Y/N. I love it!

Y/N: I know you do. But for now, you're what I'm focusing on. So why don't you just lay back and let me take care of you?

Jinx: But this is your celebration.

You smirked as you leaned towards her lips.

Y/N: Then let me celebrate.

Without any more distractions, you finally kissed your lover. You'll deal with that bastard and his family later. For now, you were focused on the girl below you.

Tomorrow, blood will be spilled. You'll be a killer.

Tonight, you are a lover.
