LARK hadn't expected her head to be swooning with the fact that an incredibly handsome man had stumbled into the daycare yesterday. From his beautiful eyes and features that left her lips curling into smiles, Lark could have easily been diagnosed with instant crush-itis. It also didn't help the fact he had a beautiful daughter named Lucy with almost the same heart-melting looks except more feminine and softer for her age. He was a total package.
"Howdy!" The familiar voice of Finch Barstow erupted through the silence of her apartment, the boy had a large grin on his face as he approached her. This morning Finch seemed particularly more giddy, his short, raven locks a floppy knot on his head as his steps had a hint of a bounce on them.
"Lark, have you pooped lately?" Finch asked, his face contorting into what looked like worry. Lark's eyebrows shot up, her mouth slightly hanging agape as she comprehended what he had said.
"Wha-what?" Lark mouthed in disbelief, "I feed you coffee and you repay me with saying that I look constipated?"
"I mean, it's the mornings—" He began, his shoulders shrugging nonchalantly. Oh if it wasn't four in the morning, Lark would have screamed bloody hell at him.
"No, I am not constipated," When Finch sighed in relief, his body flopping against the counter, Lark rolled her eyes at his immaturity. "I met a dude," She ended up saying rather silently.
"A boy!" Finch gasped, his figure retracting back to his full height. Lark watched as Finch exaggeratedly put his hands on his head, his mouth forming an 'o' as he mimicked the image of his mind blowing.
He's such a geek, Lark rolled her eyes again as she took another sip out of her coffee. "I barely even know you," Lark began. "Why do you care?"
"Ouch," Finch grimaced, his hands lowering to grasp at his heart. "You say that to me when you don't even know him too."
"Get out!" Lark screeched, almost jerking her arm out at him to douse him in liquid lava. "Be nice peasant or else I'll lock you out!"
As she chased Finch around the kitchen, the anger that once boiled within her died the moment his contagious laugh filled her ears. Soon enough, Lark found herself laughing along with him, their laughs combining into a symphony for all the neighbors to hear.
