Prologue
Horace's knees buckled, then held, and for a moment Morgarath and he stood locked, chest to chest. Horace could see the puzzled fury on the madman's face. Then the fury turned to surprise and Morgarath felt a deep, burning agony pour through his body as Horace slipped the dagger free and, with every ounce of his strength behind it, drove it through Morgarath's chain mail and up into his heart.
Slowly, the Lord of Rain and Night sagged and crumpled to the ground.

Lilith gasped as sat up in fright at the nightmare. She held a hand to her chest, trying to calm her heart. A sinking feeling came over her as she remembered the truth behind the nightmare. It wasn't a nightmare. It was all true. Her father was dead. Killed by a sixteen year old boy, less then three months ago. Her thoughts towards the men responsible were seething with anger. Lilith slipped out of bed and into her worn boots. She was still in her nightgown, but she didn't care. Most of her father's old staff escaped or was captured by Duncan's men after the war. Foldar told her to hide until the men had finished raiding the castle. Her father built up this worthless prison a little over seventeen years ago. Lilith was so unfortunate to be born into captivity. Her mother was a house maid, who died during child birth. Lilith was a mistake, but Morgarath found a sliver of kindness in his heart to care for the orphaned child. She didn't know anything of her real father, so Morgarath was all Lilith had.
Lilith ran down the corridors filled with shadows until she reached the door leading into her father's old study. He spent most of his time in here, so once he died, Lilith hid most of his future battle plans so Duncan's men couldn't find them. She knew it was his life's work.
"What are you doing up so late, Lilith?" She heard Foldar ask. He was her father's senior lieutenant. He joined them when Lilith was only seven years old. Foldar had murdered both his parents due to an argument over a horse. He came to the Mountain of Rain and Night, and her father was welcoming towards him. Foldar was the only one to escape from Duncan after the war ended.
"I can't stop think about him." She said quietly. Foldar sighed and leaned back in the chair.
"We'll find him, Lilith. And when we do, we'll see that he suffers for what he's done." He said. Lilith let out a sob and fell into his arms. The man comforted her gently by stroking her hair softly and whispering in her ear in hushed tones.
"We'll find him, Lilith." He whispered once more. "We'll find the boy responsible for his death, and we'll kill him."

I think this will turn out to be weirdly good... writing from the opposite side is always fun. Please comment and vote to see if I should continue this story!
