Aryan's P.O.V.

"W-What ?"

I frozed.

We turn around only to see Ari standing on the door with teary eyes. But she didn't let her tears fall. Arnav is standing beside her with clenched jaw and fist. He is looking furious.

Fuck, she heard it.

From the corner of my eyes, I can see Arjun and Aarav's widened eyes.

I don't want her to find out about this. Atleast not this soon.

A drop dead silence.

She came infront of Damon. Her back was facing us.

"Did you hate me that much that you s-sold me, Dad ?" She whispered. But Everyone can heard it.

She is broken.

I closed my eyes tightly. I can't see her trust broken again. I opened my eyes.

Damon standing there looking guilty but trying to defend himself.

"I-I am s-sorry Ari. I was f-foolish. P-ple-ease forgive me. D-Don't worry, I-I will not let anything happen to y-you." Damon stuttered infront of her.

At this point, I scoffed.

Ari didn't said anything. Her back is facing me But, I could tell, her eyes were showing pain and betrayal.

He continued "A-Ari, Princess. Please trust me, I will not let anything happen to you. A-At that time, we were foolish but now we really regret it. We really love you a l-lot".

Damon hugged her.

But what shocked me most is she didn't hug back. My heart sank. If you know Ari well, you can tell She loves Hugs. She never leave any chance of hugging someone. For her, Hugs Can heal everything.

Today seeing her like this, breaks my heart. My Sister is broken. She couldn't have expected this from her own father, of course no child expect this from their parents. I can feel my tears on its edge, seeing my sister like this.

Damon's phone rings. He pulled out from the hug and receive his calls. But my attention is on my sister. She is still standing on her place staring at the space. She is not crying, but not speaking anything too.

I never saw her like this.

Even after 12 years of torture, she is still my little ball of sunshine and hope. She never loses her hope, her light. But today, it's not there. And it pain my heart.

She turned around and go upstairs towards her room without uttering a single word.

I want to hug her, I want to comfort her. I want to caress her hair and want to tell her that 'Everything will be going to fine, I will not let anything happen to her'.

But, I can't. I don't know why but I don't have a courage to even face her. It's like I am ashamed of myself. I am unable to muster up my courage.

Damon came back.

I so badly want to torture you right now, Damon Moretti.

I left from there thinking if I will stay there any longer seeing his face, I might end up killing him.

I slammed my door open and sit on the edge of my bed. I kept my hands on my head and sit there for some time.

What if I will failed to save her again ?

What if I can't get my old Ari back ?

What if I can't see my sunshine ?

What if she-

I cut off by someone's hug.

I didn't realised I am crying untill someone rub my back and said comforting words. I didn't pulled back but hugged back that someone.

"It's ok. D-Don't worry, we will save her. I-I will not let anything happen to her." I recognised this voice as a Arjun's voice. His one hand is rubbing my back, while other hand brushed my hair.

I don't know what is happening to me but I am unable to control my tears. I don't want to cry , I don't want to seem weak but I can't help it.

Eventually, I calmed down. Aarav and Arnav are here too. We all are silent. Doesn't know what to tell. We all are busy in our thoughts.

"Ari is neither speaking anything nor crying" Aarav said breaking silence.

"It's not good for her. I can tell she is numb. She is shocked, Ryan. And-" Arnav cuts off by Arjun.

"And you are the only one who could make her talk, Ryan. You have to do it." Arjun completed his sentence.

They both nodded.

I don't even have a courage to face her. How will I talk her ?

Nonetheless, I nodded and go to her room.

Her room door was closed but not locked. I opened her door, only to see she is sitting on the window, looking at the sky.

She is silent.

It breaks my heart.

I controlled my tears and sighed silently.

Author's P.O.V.

Numb.

Numb was the only thing Ariel is feeling.

Her world crushed when she heard her father sold her because he hated her.

Her father hated her because she is a girl. He hated her from the time she born.

But she is confused 'What's her fault in all this ? She didn't choose to be a girl'.

She loves her parents, But her parents didn't.

She trusted them but her parents break it.

Her trust broke again.

Now, she realised why her twin never trusted anyone easily.

She don't know how to react to the news.

Here, Aryan go near his sister.

He looked at her face.

Light from her face is faded. Her brightness disappeared. Hope, which is always there in her eyes is nowhere to be seen. His little ball of sunshine is not shining right now. And he will definitely bring his Sunshine back.

Thinking this, he kept his hand on her shoulder.

Ari looked at Aryan blankly.

Aryan sighed.

“Ari" Aryan whispered.

“I am ok Ryan" She sighed avoiding his eyes.

Aryan keep his fingers on her chin and lift her face to look in her eyes.

Ari looked in Aryan's eyes and see many emotions in his eyes.

That's it.

She can't control herself and burst into tears.

Aryan didn't wasted a single second in pulling her in his warm and protective embrace.

She cried.

“I-I d-don't w-want to g-go, b-bub-bby, t-th-hey will t-take m-me" She sobbed in her brother's arm.

Aryan tightened his arms around her and keep rubbing her back and brushing her hair.

“No one can do anything. I will not let anyone" He comforts her.

She cried and cried and sleep in Aryan's arms exhausted.

He feel her calm breathing and looked down only to see her Sleeping sister.

He picked her up gently and lay her on her bed, covered her with a blanket, kissed her forehead and left the room.

Time Skip ( Dinner time )

Mary knocked on Ari's door with a food plate in her hand.

After hearing a raspy ‘come in', she entered in her room.

There Ari sitting on her bed doing nothing.

“Baby, please eat something" Mary told her softly.

Ari wants to eat but she is not at all hungry.

Her mind is swirling with earlier events.

“Thank you Aunty, but I am not hungry. I will eat later" She told her softly.

“But Ari, you didn't eat anything-" Mary cuts off by Ari's requesting eyes.

“Aunty please. I am really not hungry" Ari requested.

Mary sighed sadly and left from there.

She came downstairs to go to kitchen but stopped at Lina's voice.

“Where is Ari, Mary ?" Lina asked.

Mary gritted her teeth but replied calmly.

“She said she don't want to eat" Mary told and left from there.

Aarav stood up from there and left to Ari's room. Arjun and Aryan followed him. Damon and Lina sighed.

These brothers enters in her room only to see tears are streaming down her cheeks, while she is sitting silently on her bed.

They three looked at each other and go towards her and sat surrounding her.

She looked at them with her teary eyes.

“You will never be alone, Ari" Aryan said keeping his hand on Ari's head.

“We are always with you, baby" Arjun said wiping Ari's tears with his thumbs.

“We are always together, FOREVER" Aarav said strongly and determined.

They pulled in group hug by keeping Ari, their strength, their treasure, in between them protecting her from the cruelty of the World and silently promised each other that they will protect her , no matter what !

Little do they know,

Promises are meant to be broken !
