This March would have been your 27th birthday, and this year marks ten years since you chose to leave this world. There isn't a year that goes by, that I don't feel your absence and wish the circumstances that led to your choice were different. I hope that wherever you are things are better and that you've found happiness. I'll always carry your memory with me and be grateful that my childhood was less lonely with you in it.

Welcome to More Time! 

This novella is based on the ONC 2021 prompt 33: When a loved one dies, the person is lost. Until they find a jar of 'fortune notes' which leads them to read each one (every day). How does the journey start and end?

This novella is set in the same universe as my series More to Life and will contain major spoilers about the backstories of two characters if you haven't read to the end of book two. That being said, it can also be read as a stand-alone novella and the series can still be enjoyed even if you read this first.

If you have read More to Life, this story is set roughly three years before Maria's story. Mitch is finishing up his final year of university in Illinois and Shawn was doing the same in Thailand with a study abroad program. This story will be told from Shawn's perspective, but also be very intertwined with Mitch's story. You'll see some other minor characters reappear as well.

Please note this story explores the topics of grief, loss of a loved one, self-harm (briefly and not explicitly) and addiction. It will end on a positive note with the opening chapters being the most difficult to get through emotionally.

Thank you for giving my novella a chance and coming on this journey with me.  While it is a fictional work, you can probably tell I'll be drawing inspiration from my own experiences with these themes to make the story as authentic as I can. I hope to do them justice.
