Chapter Two

all i'm really doing is rewording/paraphrasing all the horribly written shit i had done in the first version of the book. i think it'll make it easier to read :))

i didn't even manage to get 5 steps into the hall before heads were darting in my direction, both girls AND boys were swarming me and invading my personal space. my brother had gone a different way so i had no one to help me escape this new hell.

i tried to ignore the whispering and stares as much as i could in hope that i'd be left alone for at least a minute to collect myself and get my shit together. but alas, i wouldn't be rewarded with such luck.

i frowned in annoyance, fiddling around with the new lock the principal had given me in my hand. in the crowd of people filling this small hallway, my eye was caught on a tail that whisked around toward the floor. it was attached to a.. very short person, a demon by the looks of what i could gather in the second a looked at him.

he seemed about the same level as my waist, clutching his books close as if it would kill him if he let even one go. he had large, yet tired-looking red eyes, and he stared at me like i was some kind of alien or something.

i quickly redirected my attention to getting to my locker - the intensity of a one second stared own causing a bubble of heat in my core. from what? embarrassment?

the crowd of people had parted like Moses parting the red sea, to let me through. that would've been nice enough if they had carried on with their day instead of deciding to breathe down my back when i'm just minding my own business.

i could hear the whispering like they were all talking right in my ear. it really started to piss me off. i stopped at my locker, turning and looking at everyone who had crowded behind me. they seemed to at least slightly get the hint, taking a couple steps back.
good enough... i guess.

i juggled the books for my first classes in my arm as i threw the locker door shut. i'd have to be deaf not to hear the people trailing behind me, but, thank GOD they weren't in my first class, as they all awkwardly went their own direction.
i sucked in a breath like id just been held underwater. it was refreshing to be left alone. i took my place in an empty seat at the back of the classroom.

i could feel everyone staring me down, and if they stared any harder they'd burn a hole straight through my cup. why is being a new student SUCH a big deal at this god damn school???

i laid my head in my arms on the table. i just want to go the hell home already...

Bendy's P.O.V

"oh my god, isn't he just gorgeous?"
"absolutely! he's a total cutie!~", girls swooned together to my left as i navigated my way to class. to be fair, they could be talking about anyone, but i had a feeling that today that wasn't the case.

i rolled my eyes, my body following suit as i turned into my first class of the day. my eyes landed straight on the blonde mass in a porcelain cup, face down on the desk.
yeah sure i was surprised he was in my class, blah blah, high school fanfiction tropes, but acting like this on his first day? surprises just keep on coming.

luckily enough for me, my desk was in the back corner on the opposite side of the room to his. the slap of my books hitting the table seemed to have caught his attention. maybe woke him up from a nap?
he glanced over his arm at me, his vibrant red gaze feeling like it was piercing through my soul.

his expression went into what seemed more like a scowl, and i quickly drew my attention back to the books in front of me as i clumsily took my seat, feeling his eyes still lingering.
what the hell?

what the hell is this dude's problem?? he stared at me for what was totally a whole, maybe 7 seconds. it felt awkward as hell, but i'm not one to back away from a contest. he had looked away first, because obviously i don't lose. but, his face looked a little red, and it made me crack a smirk behind my arm. "tsk..."

narration P.O.V

as class began, bendy was ready with a pen in hand to take notes, and the new kid simply stared ahead at the blackboard while the teacher wrote context from the days lesson for students to copy down. he would have been writing had the teacher not sounded like he was talking and writing some sort of gibberish that he had no prior knowledge of.
what even was this class anyway? math? science? man i don't know.

bendy noticed his lack of note taking well into the lesson, shaking his head. he hadn't even opened a book or put a pen in his hand. he just doesn't seem to care.
his funeral when the test comes along. he himself was basically finished writing already.

bendy was well aware it wouldn't take this guy long to make some sort of rep for himself as a cool kid, just by the way he has been acting in the forty-five minutes he'd even known he existed. wasn't hard.

he took the chance again and threw a quick glance in his general direction. out of curiosity, of course.
his head was rested in his arms, seemingly fast asleep. the corner of bendy's mouth was tugged into a small smile. since his notes were done, he pulled out a loose piece of paper from one of his books, scribbling notes down onto it until the bell sounded for the end of the first session.

once he'd finished he carefully slipped the notes into the sleeping boy's books before leaving the room. the teacher soon approached cuphead's desk, tapping his cup with his long ruler making him jolt to a sudden awakening.
"cuphead, you can't be sleeping in the back of my class on your first day, or ANY day actually," the teacher scolded.

cuphead rubbed sleep from his eye. "right, sorry... i didn't have enough sleep last night.." he mumbled. the teacher let out a sigh. "alright, i'll let you off this time, but do it again and you'll be in trouble, y'hear?"

cuphead nodded in compliance, grabbing his things as a note fell to the floor. opening it, he noticed pages of the class's notes that he knew he didn't write. he was confused, but stuffed the papers back into his book anyway before stepping out of the class to join the students flooding the hall to their next sessions.
