The team had just finished their mission in Gotham, all they had to do was apprehend Penguin, no real trouble. Everyone but Robin had gone back to the mountain to wash up, Robin stayed behind to make sure Penguin didn't escape again.
After the police had Penguin safely in custody, Robin started his nightly rounds around Gotham. After a few hours of stopping petty crimes, he was about to head home when he heard a gun shot and quickly ran over to the building. Entering though the window he looked inside and saw a man on the ground with a bullet in his head.
"Honestly, can't get through one job without the bat brat finding me, can I?" A voice from behind asked. Deathstroke revealed himself.
"Wouldn't be much of a hero if I allow that now would I?" Robin shot back staring Deathstroke down. "Why don't you take off that mask Deathy, I'd like to see you face when I finish kicking your butt!"
Deathstroke ignored the nickname and the comment, instead walked closer to the bird boy. Robin saw this and started to back away. Deathstroke was clearly not feeling the aster and Robin wasn't that interest in taking on the mercenary that could easily handle Batman, he wasn't that crazy! Then he looked down at the dead man and cringed.
"Who hired you this time? What did this one do? What family did you steal him from?" Deathstroke looked over to the corpse with an uninteresed look under his masked.
"No one ordered this one, he was harassing a young child, and none, he killed his family." Robin looked over at the masked mystery.
"What?" He stared down in disbelief.
"He wasn't mentally well and he's only gotten worse since he got out of the hospital. I don't care about the harassing, but killing the family that loved him and tried to help him? That I won't except." Deathstroke started to leave after his tangent.
Robin widened his eyes, his past. "You-you still miss her. Don't you?" Robin hide his masked eyes with his raven hair. Deathstroke looked back towards him.
"Not a day goes by when you don't think about them." Robin walked towards him.
"I know how it feels. To have someone you care about ripped from you when you could have stopped it. I know your story, Slade, and I know how it feels but why? Why keep doing the thing that drove them away? Why keep doing the thing that killed him?" Robin asked surprising calm.
"I won't pretend it's for justice. I won't pretend I'm doing this because it's right."
"Then why? Why destroy more families?" Robin started to move closer to him.
"Why let the man that killed your parents live to do it to someone else? You question my morals, but why not question your own! You say your here to protect! Well why not kill the problems to make sure they never start again. There are some people that just don't want to do good. And once you know how it feels to hold a life in your hand, the thrill of pulling the trigger and seeing the red, you get addicted and very little can help you then."
"It's wrong. I don't understand why you do it." Robin took Slade's hand into his, "but...I'd like to."
Slade widened his eye in surprise, then relaxed and clasp his large hand around Robin's small one.
*5 months later*
They were meeting once again. They had agreed to meet once a week and talk, of course in a different location each time. It was almost like a game and the winner was who ever could convince the other to swich sides, and with players this competive, it could get thrilling. Plus this also doubled as a stress reliever, a person they could just complain to about life, like want Robin was currently doing.
"... and then they had the brilliant idea of seeking into her room. WHO SNEAKS INTO THE DAUGHTER OF SATAN'S ROOM?!"
"They honestly though that was a good idea? And Beastboy sounds even more of a moron than villains see him to be." Deathstroke commented while reading over Robin's essay as he wrote it. He wasn't in his Deathstroke uniform, just in his normal everyday suit.
"Yea, but he's still like a brother. A dumb brother, but a brother none the less!" Robin was working on said essay, while hacking into the tracker Batman had on his uniform. He'd get suspension if the bird stayed in one place.
" 'reknocked' isn't a word." Slade commented looking over his shoulder.
"Hmmm? Oh! Shoot!" Robin quickly retyped.
"Mmmm ok!" Slade took out a gun and fired it. Robin was unamused.
"Stop! You'll attract someone!" Robin didn't want his time with his Slade to be taken away.
"Oh relax little birdy, anyone looking around an abandoned puppet factory should probably check themselves into an asylum."
"You mean like us?"
"Haha very funny."
"Maybe I'm not being funny."
"Oh really?" They started to lean into one another.
"Yea."
They started get closer. Their noses were touching and they started to close their eyes (well an eye for Slade). Then before they knew it they were kissing. Slade pulled Robin closer till he was in him lap and started to deepen the kiss. Robin snaked his arms around Slade's neck and started moan as Slade continued to deepen their kiss he had no idea was to do, this being his first kiss, so he just allowed Slade to map out his mouth. All to soon they had to part for air. Robin as panting trying to catch him breath. Slade in the other hand was to focus on running though his head what exactly happened, he never thought he'd be able to let go of his old family, but maybe it's time he try.
Suddenly Batman's voice could be heard through Robin's communicater "Robin! Joker's in downtown Gotham, I need your help!"
Robin just pick up and replied "on my way."
He got up and just before he left, Robin went over to Slade and pecked his lips. "Maybe next week we should meet at the old roller rink. But I gotta go, he needs me."
'Yea maybe it's time to let go.'
*Present*
"...and that's basically what happened." Robin finished. Everyone looked at them with mixed emotions.
