Chapter 3: Archives
You snuck into a sealed-off building and entered an archive, where you moved carefully so as to not trip over any wires, and you went to a terminal and plugged in a drive.
The terminal copied many encrypted files onto the drive and you pulled it out.
"Watcha doin'?"
You turned around and saw Mukuro.
"Nothing," you responded. "What brings you to this place?"
Mukuro: "An old classmate wanted me to see if I can get anything from a place that has a hidden archive. Again, what are you doing?"
You sighed.
"I came here to see if there's anything that can tell me what this place is. I couldn't hack the damn thing, so I needed to use a digital battering ram to get access. And now, I'm going to leave this place."
An alarm went off and you heard footsteps moving in the halls.
Mukuro: "Good idea."
You and Mukuro exited the room and ran down the path you took to get there. Several robots appear and started aiming their weapons at you two, but Mukuro pulled out an assault rifle and shot the robots. She then pulled out a grenade and tossed it, which blew up more of them.
"I wouldn't expect anything less from the Ultimate Soldier," you said.
Mukuro: "This is going to hurt."
You and Mukuro see a window beginning to close and jumped through it, landing on a container filled with pillows and leave the area. You and Mukuro then went to the Mega Building you live at and entered your apartment.
Mukuro is surprised at the monitors and hardware around your place.
Mukuro: "I never took you for a hacker."
"This isn't something one should just tell everyone about. You'd get arrested or have too many things expected of ya."
Mukuro: "Yeah, you're right. So what's on the files you took?"
You put the drive into his computer and it began decrypting the files.
"Not sure yet. It's going to take some time. I can copy them for your classmate to decrypt, but keep my profession a secret, please?"
Mukuro: "Fine by me."
You copied the files onto the drive Mukuro had and she took it.
"Hey, Mukuro? I know a good shawarma restaurant a few blocks from here. Want to go eat there sometime?"
Mukuro: "Already asking me out?"
"I'm asking if you want to hang out. You know, try some food, maybe play one of those test your strength games."
Mukuro: "Interesting. I'll think about it. Want to exchange numbers? It's better than searching around the city hoping to run into each other."
"Sure."
You and Mukuro exchanged your numbers and she began to leave. As you entered your bedroom, your phone went off and you read the text Mukuro sent you:
"See you soon".
You smiled as you resumed you usual activities on your computer.
