Chapter 18

━━━━━━━━━

"This year we will be seeing more Tablets, rather than IPads. We will also see the stock of apple drop." The presenter continued. Chase rolled his eyes. He had heard all this before. He really didn't know why he had to be here. His father could have come alone and still not missed anything. Chase began to tune out the presenter, seeing no new information given. He got out his phone and checked his texts. He smiled slightly as he saw one from Bree.

Hey :) just wanted to see if you guys got there alright.

Yeah. We got here about 20 minutes before the first presentation started. We're in one now but he's so boring :P

Chase looked away from his phone to see the presenter had moved onto windows 8 as opposed to windows 7. His phone vibrated just as Chase had begun to yawn. Why on earth did they have to be here at 8 am on a Saturday?

Haha :) is he talking about things you already know or something boring in general? :P

Already know. I'm a genius you know

Of course you are :P

What have you been up to?

I've just been sitting here watching tv.

Your life sounds so dull without me in it :P I thought it'd be the other way around

Nah, the real action happens when we're together :D

Your right :)

"Chase!" Donald whispered harshly over to his son. Chase quickly slid his phone into his pocket and looked up to face his father.

"What?" Chase whispered back. Donald's eyebrows rose.

"You know exactly what you're doing. Stop it. We are supposed to be listening." Donald finished as he turned back to the presenter. Chase laughed quietly before turning to his dad.

"You're bored to?" Chase asked nonchalantly. Donald smiled and turned to his son with a straight face.

"No. I'm dying slowly but surely. How is he able to talk about the same thing every year? He just changes a few details." Donald whispered sarcastically back to Chase. Chase wanted to laugh so badly.

"Hey! You two in the back! If you're not going to be quiet, leave." The presenter yelled across the room to Donald and Chase. Everyone turned to face the dynamic duo of CEO's. Their eyes widened as they realized the presenter had just called out not one, but two Davenports. Chase and Donald smiled to each other.

"Alright. I personally can't be silenced. What about you Donald?" Chase asked with a smirk. Donald laughed.

"Me neither, Chase. I myself am quite the talker. Lets go." Donald said affirmatively. Chase burst out laughing at his father's lack of a better phrase. Donald shrugged as Chase looked up with a questioning glance.

"Have a Davenport Day ladies and gentlemen." Chase yelled as they walked out of the auditorium. Donald waited for the doors to close before turning to Chase.

"Thank god! I thought we would never get out of there! Is that a windows tablet in your hand? Oh wait, you must be great because you now have a kindle fire. Oh my!" Donald re-enacted the presenter in a dramatic fashion as Chase and Donald found their way to the parking lot. They each got into Donald's car and sat for a minute.

"Thanks for getting us out of there." Chase said. Donald laughed.

"Hey, I was about to walk out myself." Donald replied. He started the car and drove them across the street to the motel. They were supposed to be apart of a mobil conference where they move from location to location, but instead, they were back at the motel. As they walked inside, the staff looked over to them with worried eyes.

"You aren't supposed to be back for a couple of hours." The bell hop said. Chase and Donald turned to each other with a smirk. They came to this conference every year. The staff knew well enough how long these things took.

"We got kicked out." Chase said simply as they made their way to the elevator. The receptionist laughed.

"The Davenports got kicked out if a conference? That's going to make the headlines." She said with a smile as they got into the elevator.

"When aren't we on the cover."

"Come on Bree. Just come over." Briley groaned into the phone. Bree sighed, knowing her younger sister would win.

"Fine! But just for a little bit. Wait... We're getting dresses today, aren't we?" Bree asked warily. She was scheduled to be the maid of honor for her sister's wedding. Bree had almost forgotten she had asked Chase to go with her.

"No... I mean maybe... Yes! Fine we are. But its just going to be the two of us. I'm going to try on wedding dresses and your going to try on bridesmaid dresses. That way I don't get five different opinions. I trust your judgement, anyway." Briley reassured her. Bree and her mother didn't get along very well. She was happy Briley just wanted it to be them. They had always gotten along.

"Okay, as long as moms not there. I'm in." Bree said as she got up and began to get dressed. Briley laughed.

"Mom's been out of town for a month, and is coming back a day before the wedding. Why do you think I wanted to wait until a week before the wedding to do this?"

******************************************************************

"Briley, you look gorgeous." Bree gushed as he wiser twirled around on the platform. Briley had on the perfect dress. But of course she was still wondering if it was right or not.

"Really? Is it the one?" Briley asked. Bree laughed and nodded at her cheesiness.

"Yes. It's perfect. Wait! Do you say yes to the dress?" Bree asked with a huge smile on her face. The second Briley got engaged, the two of them had started watching Say Yes To The Dress every Friday. They would get on Skype and watch it together since they each never felt like leaving home.

"I'm saying yes to this dress." Briley said sarcastically. A worker walked by while she faced the other way. Too bad for her though, she walked right by a mirror and you could see her laughing at the girls. Briley laughed as she grabbed Bree's arm.

"Alright! Now all we have to do, is find you a bridesmaid dress." Briley said with a smile. Bree nodded glumly and sat down while Briley made her way back to the dressing room to put her normal clothes back on. Bree sighed dramatically as she waited. Why did they have to do this at 10 am on a Saturday? Oh yes, her mother was out of town. Briley quickly motioned for Bree to follow her to the other end of the store where she led Bree to the section colored in yellow, pink, and green. Bree sighed as she realized Briley had chosen the brightest colors in the store. Bree only really ever dressed up for work.

"Okay. You can pick any of these, but only in these three colors. These are the wedding colors." Briley said with a glimmer in her eyes as she thought of her wedding. Bree laughed as she began to pick through the dresses.

"I don't know which one to try." Bree announced as she moved from rack to rack. None of them seemed right. Briley groaned and followed Bree around the corner of the store.

"Here, you pick three that you kind of like, and I'll pick three that I like for you. At least well had a starting point." Briley said simply as she began to grab dresses. Bree quickly placed three dresses over her arm and walked back to the dressing rooms with Briley. They hung the dresses on the hooks and Briley walked out into the waiting area as Bree shut the door and began to try on the dresses. Bree slipped on the green dress first. It had a neck line that literally rose all the way to her neck. Figures, Briley's choice.

"Briley, I'm telling you right now, I'm not wearing this." Bree called as she walked out onto the platform. Briley smiled as she saw her sister examining her reflection in the mirror.

"Okay, next!" Briley said enthusiastically before Bree made her way back into the dressing room. Next, Bree tried on a simple yellow dress. It was strapless and hugged her torso until it flared out at her waist. Bree had to admit, she kind of liked it. It just didn't feel right though.

"I like it." Bree said as she walked out. Briley could tell it wasn't the right one.

"I get it. It's cute but not you. I know! I'll have the other bridesmaids wear it! You can just wear one like it. Oh! Try on the pink one I got for you." Briley exclaimed. Bree nodded and walked back in. Bree picked up the last of Briley's choices and threw it on. Bree turned to look at herself. She smiled as she spun around in the dressing room. She loved it. Bree's eyes went wide as she got an idea. She got out her phone before leaving the dressing room.

"I love it!" Bree said happily a she bounded onto the platform and spun quickly for her sister. Briley nodded and squealed. She stopped the second she recognized Bree's phone.

"Why do you have that?" Briley asked warily. Bree smile grew brighter.

"Will you take a picture so I can send it to someone?" Bree asked hopefully. Briley's eyes widened at the realization of what Bree meant.

"Oh my gosh! Yes! Who is it? Someone special?" Briley asked as she took the phone from Bree and pointed the camera towards her sister. Lucky for Bree, Briley minored in photography in college, so this was picture was sure to be great.

"There! Now spill." Briley said sternly. Bree rolled her eyes and texted it to Chase.

Like?

Bree smiled as she hit send and walked back into her dressing room to change. Briley pounded on the door.

"Bree!" She whined as Bree changed and walked out holding the pink and yellow dresses.

"Why don't you text the other girls and ask them for their dress sizes?" Bree suggested. Briley frowned at Bree's subject change.

"I already know all of their's! Now tell me who it is that just had to see that." Briley groaned as she stomped her foot on the ground. Bree shook her head at her sisters actions. Bree's phone buzzed in her hand.

Love. Can't wait to see it in person :P

Bree smiled as she read Chase's text. Suddenly, she felt a presence over her shoulder.

"Oh my god... You're seeing Chase Davenport!" Briley squealed. Bree shushed her sister and placed her hand on her shoulder to stop the bouncing.

"Will you keep it down! The paparazzi have already caught us once! I don't need them questioning Chase on whether we're back together or not." Bree whispered. Briley smiled again.

"You two broke up?" She said. Briley loved off again on again romances. Bree sighed.

"Twice. We're technically broken up now." Bree mumbled as she walked over to the counter. Briley squealed again.

"I promise I won't tell anyone." Briley said as seriously as she could. Bree rolled her eyes.

"I'm sure you won't Briley. Now lets buy these, get out, and get lunch. I'm starved."
