chapter three
The race only had 40 laps left. I was getting nervous and couldn't shake off the feeling I was having. Why was I feeling this way though? "Mom." I called to her. She turned to me. "Dad will be okay. Right?" I asked her. "Of course he will be. Why do you ask that?" Mom asked. "Nothin'." I said and she turned her attention back to the tracks. My dad was then coming through to a pit stop. He was rushing poor Guido to hurry up and fix his tires. "Dad good-" Before I could finish he took off onto the track before Jackson did. I get it. He wants to win. He was taking the lead but seconds later Jackson took off and caught up with my dad. I saw Jackson say something to Dad and he sped up in front of him. "McQueen is fading! Fading fast!" I heard Darrell exclaim. "No dad! Keep going!" I screamed that I scared Angel. It was if Dad heard me and he pressed forward hard. But a little too hard. That was when I saw something pop behind him. His tire. Dad screeched to the right and hit the wall . Hard. Which caused him to fly across the grass part halfway. I heard me, Mom, and Angel gasp. My world went in slow motion as my dad was flipping over on the track. He hit the track again, hood first. Again and again and again and again. He hit his side and slid down the track on his side. He finally flipped a couple more times until he finally stood still normal. We all drove over there but Angel beat us there first. The police and ambulance cars blocked us. But that didn't stop Angel. "No!! He's my best friend!!" Angel screeched at the people. All I could do was cry. I didn't have the strength to yell at the police and ambulance like Angel did. But Angel was a mix of anger and sadness. I was just full of sadness at this point. I then saw my dad. His eyes were closed and I could barely hear him breathing which made me even more upset. I just kept calling to him. Even when they were dragging him away. Angel was trailing behind them even when they were telling her to stay back. I wanted to help Angel out but my mom told me to stay back. But Angel still wouldn't give up. They put my dad in the ambulance and we all drove to the hospital as fast as we could. All I can confirm for now is that this was all Jackson Storm's fault. He nearly killed my dad.
