Backstory: Heather's mother never really wanted a child but she had ended up getting pregnant on accident. She ended up keeping Heather as her father agreed to help out. Her mother's view of the world was a bit different. She thought it was too dangerous and that she had to 'protect' her daughter from it. She did this by pretty much keeping Heather away from the outside world.

She was never allowed to have friends and kept inside for the most part. By the time she was four, her father walked out on both her and her mother to go to another woman. This seemed to start to physical abuse. Heather's mother would always tell her that the world was too dangerous and that people would hurt her. If Heather asked too many questions, argued, or broke a rule, it resulted in a beating. They weren't too harsh at first but as she got older they got worse.

Her mother would lock her in her room without food or water or lock her in the basement. She was constantly yelled at or belittled. It quickly became normal to her but it didn't stop her from being afraid. Her mother always told her it was to protect her and that she was teaching her to be strong.

Heather had tried to sneak out once and her mother caught her. As punishment she had gotten a beating, which resulted in a broken leg. This was when she learned to lie about where her injuries came from as she had been brought to the hospital. This resulted in her becoming a good liar as she had to do it a lot. She had also learned how to tend to her wounds.
