Callista was born to Katherine and Nikolas Sybil on January 18th. The two had been very loving parents two her and her older sister Chrysanthe. When Callista hit the age of six, that was where everything began to go downhill. Her parents began to argue with each other often. Eventually, the fights went from being verbal to physical. As Callista got older, the anger turned onto her and her sister. She was about seven at the time when both parents began to verbally and emotionally abuse her. One of the scariest moments was when she was eight, her mother was angry at her father and turned that onto Callista. It was verbal at first but then her mother had slapped her and pushed her down. Her mother had kicked her before she had gotten up and would hit her whenever she tried to get up. 

The abuse went on as she grew up, getting worse as she grew older. Her parents began drinking when she was twelve. This made the abuse a lot worse. They would beat her and her sister for the smallest of things. This was when she learned how to read people in her attempt to try avoiding getting hurt as much. 

Callista started to fall into a bad mindset as she turned thirteen. She was bullied at school and her home life was terrible. She started to shut herself out from everyone, isolating herself most of the time. She had gotten pretty good at taking care of her and her sister's wounds from the practice since the two had no one else to tend to the injuries. Her mindset grew progressively worse which lead to her self-harming in hopes of getting rid of the emotional pain she was feeling.

Her sister moved out when she was fifteen and was unable to take Callista with her, leaving a pendant with her as a reminder of her. This pendant became something she treasured and would rarely ever take it off. After her sister left, the abuse grew even worse now that her parents had just one person to use as their personal punching bag. She slipped further down into a bad state of mind, starting to contemplate taking her own life. She made several failed attempts and ended up getting pretty bad beatings once she recovered enough.

As she turned eighteen, she had hit her breaking point. She had heard the rumors about Mt. Ebott and decided she would run away there. She didn't care what would happen to her at that point. According to the rumors, she wouldn't return and that was enough for her. She had packed a small bag in the middle of the night, putting some water, her pocket knife, journal, extra clothes, and some other items into the bag. Then she decided to sneak out.

Once she was up on Mt. Ebott, she had wondered around a bit before finding a hole. It seemed bottomless from where she was. To her it seemed like it would be a long fall. That was perfect for her plan, or so she thought. 

She jumped, hoping it would end quickly with little pain. However, that wasn't what ended up happening. She lost consciousness before waking up in a pile of golden flowers that she later learned were Buttercups. They seemed to have cushioned her fall and kept her uninjured for the most part other than some reopened cuts and a dull pain in her head that quickly resides thanks to Toriel's help.

As Callista made her way through the Underground, she made herself many good friends that she was so thankful for. They helped her remember how it felt to be happy again. The kindness that they showed her was something she hadn't been shown in a long time and it felt really nice. Now, she tries to be the best friend she can and although she still has days where her mental state brings her down, she's happier now.
