6. Heavenly elixir

A/N: Sometimes I just find the perfect photos for this story

***
"Wait," Still curled in the blankets, Yeosang interrupted the story. "I can't believe soulmates wouldn't understand their feelings for each other."

And Yunho saw an opportunity. "Don't you sometimes not understand Seonghwa?"

The younger thought. Thought back to when Mr. Park had been diagnosed, just a few months previously. All of Seonghwa's attention was on Yeosang, until suddenly, it wasn't.

"Yeah. . ." Yeosang began. "When Seonghwa's appa got diagnosed, he was so worried, understandably. But I wasn't doing well then, like, in my head. Even though Hyung told me about Abeoji's health, I don't know, I guess I didn't get it or something. Ugh."

He flushed and groaned in embarrassment at the memory. "We got in a fight over it. Or really I fought him over it. I lashed out thinking that, since he wasn't around as much, he was growing tired of me. . .I was so angry with myself for not being enough that, illogically, I took it out on him. I don't know why I thought he was upset with me, though. Obviously he should've been spending time with his family." Yeosang sighed.

"After yelling I got so embarrassed and avoided him. . . like I'm doing now," he mumbled the last part. "But back then it was only two days until I went and apologized. . .He wasn't even angry about it, especially after seeing how guilty I felt. . ."

Yunho took in this new information. "Seonghwa's a kind person."

"Yeah," Yeosang looked at his lap, "he is."

After a moment Yunho broke the silence. "How're you doing Yeosang-ah, still awake enough?"

"Very much so, though a little suspicious about Yunjung." He side eyed the older man.

"Don't be suspicious."

Yeosang nodded. "Bathroom, be right back." He bravely jumped out of the covers and ran past the door.

Returning from the toilet, he passed through the kitchen, and finding an open bottle of rosé in the fridge, he smiled taking down two flutes. As he poured, the liquid was pink, pink like Seonghwa's hair. . . Is it still colored? He thought.

Carefully crawling into bed, he handed one glass to Yunho and, of course, kept the other close. Sipping from the flute, he set it on the nightstand before turning back to his uncle. Thankfully Yeosang had swallowed because the priceless mix of pride and aghast-ment on Yunho's face sent him wheezing.

"Awwww~ww come ooon Un~cle~ it's only one gla~ss," he whined.

"Did you drink already?! Only I do aygeo in this family."

"Hey," Yeosang scolded, "Appa is pretty good. You know that puffy cheek heart thing he does? If he wasn't my appa I'd say he was cute~"

"Yeah," Yunho scoffed, "because I taught him that."

"Oop. Really? . . . Anyway back to the story, Uncle."

"Okay fine but, Yeosang, no need to mention this to your parents. . ."

Yeosang smirked, "You know I'm already 19. . .This is perfectly legal." Nevertheless, the younger held out his pinky. Rolling his eyes, Yunho grabbed on and connected their pinkies and thumbs, nodding.

"Jongho awoke to an empty bed that morning. He felt an empty ache inside, too, knowing he'd hurt Yunjung.

He silently slid out of bed, wandering toward the kitchen. He saw Appa attempting to comfort Yunjung and if that was happening, the emotional damage must've been bad.

Reluctantly, Jongho decided against his coffee and crept back to bed. But not long after, Yunjung entered carrying the heavenly elixir in hand.

'Ahhh, Hyung, thank you.' He smiled his signature gummy smile.

Sitting down on the side of the bed, Yunjung handed the, in his opinion, gross concoction to the younger. But he couldn't help but smile seeing how Jongho's face always softens upon drinking coffee in the mornings.

Crawling up against the headboard, Yunjung sat staring at his hands. But seeing his discomfort, Jongho sighed and nuzzled into his chest.

Yunjung gasped at the action and flushed as Jongho climbed over, setting himself on the bed between the older's thighs.

They sat like this, both boys, until Jongho had finished the americano. He set the empty cup down and wraped the older's arms around him. 'Let's talk.'

'About. . .?' Yunjung questioned, though he likely already knew.

'Come on.' Jongho rolled his eyes. 'I love you too, Hyung, it's just weird. Our parents have been forcing us, well, my parents I feel have been forcing us together since we were old enough to know what Souls were.'

And Yunjung did know. 'Jongho, it was hard for your moms, not being souls. They just want you to be happy. . .'

Jongho played with the arms that encompassed him, running a hand up and down. Stopping at Yunjung's hands, he intertwined their fingers.

'We're moving. Eomma got a new job, like an hour away.'

Without realizing, Yunjung's tears started to fall. He held on tighter as Jongho tried to turn in his arms. 'Hey, hey Hyung! It's okay, we'll only be 40 minutes away from you. I'll go to a different school but see you all the time.'

Yunjung finally let Jongho turn and the little became the big spoon, holding his brother tightly.

"H-hyung~g, I'm going to cry too if you don't stop," he sniffled. But Yunjung couldn't hold back, so cry together they did.

After the two calmed, Jongho climbed out of bed and headed over to the cassette player. Popping in a tape, classic jazz started floating through the room and Jongho swayed to the music.

But looking on, Yunho cringed. 'Elevator music? You're right, maybe we aren't Souls after all.'

But Jongho just laughed shaking his head. 'Not my fault I have taste and you don't.

'Want to dance?' Jongho asked, swaying in front of the boy in the bed.

'We're fifteen, shouldn't we do regular teenage boy things?' The last part was said in air quotes.

Jongho gasped dramatically, hand over his heart, 'Wait. You're telling dancing together isn't regular boy things?' Jongho was quite the actor, so the look on his face, you might mistake him for being serious.

But Yunjung just smirked and laid back on the pillows. 'No, I don't think it is.'

Still swaying to the trumpets, Jongho walked over and took Yunjung's hand in his and began to kiss up the older's arm. Once he felt this, Yunjung groaned and jerked his hand away.

'Come on, Hyung,' said the sweet voice, 'I want to dance~'

'Jongho, you can't avoid talking about us and then do that. It's not fair.'

Jongho, with inhuman strength he was already developing, pulled the taller from his pillows to stand in front of him.

'Hyung, you know I love you.'

Yunjung placed his hands lightly on Jongho's hips, as he, too, began to dance. 'Yeah, but not like I love you. . .'

'Just wait, Hyung.' Jongho whispered over the music. 'I'll fall in love with you. Just wait. I'll always love you.'

A/N: 1-7-22 Ugh. I almost had a heart attack when I remembered Jongho's fate. . . I really don't want to do what needs to be done, especially after delving into 2Ho's relationship more. But this story is supposed to be a lesson so *sigh.* Do you know the teaching yet?
