norman ↬young love

Tick, tock. Watch the clock.

It's five to midnight, please don't stop.

Tick, tock. Hear it chime.

Oh, can't you see?

You're out of time.

Her breath was hot, his touch was cool.
Opposites attract, they say.
His grip is firm, her voice weak.
Don't let yourself lose control.

The earl's eldest daughter sat in young man's lap, her head buried in the crook of his neck.

The poor man was the youngest son of the lesser known viscount. He stroked the girl's back in a reassuring manner and whispered her sweet poems he wrote. The Earl's daughter giggled, raising her head up to look at the love of her life.

What a touching story behind their innocent love. It all started when they were just kids. Age seven, to be exact. Too young to know the hard truth of today's world.

Growing up together was too much fun. They'd always play in the large gardens of (Y/N) 's family and enjoy afternoon tea at Norman's mansion. It was a like a perfect life. The young couple only fell harder as the each day passed.

But alas, the world had different plans for the young pair. One dreadful night, (Y/N) was coming back home from Norman's mansion. She opened the door to their tea room and saw her parents, two random people she never saw before and a guy with charming smile.

Let's just say that she cried the whole night after she found out what was happening. Her parents arranged a marriage for her. But... She always expected to be engaged to Norman. (Y/N) 's parents explained that the guy she was supposed to marry was drop dead rich and could help them with their finances.

The poor woman couldn't bring herself to tell Norman that she was supposed to marry a guy twice her age in less than a month. After a small argument with Norman she let the news slip out and the poor man fell to his knees in shock.

After those groundbreaking news, the pair spent every moment they could together. They'd sneak out, share kisses in the garden when no one was watching, snuggle, tickle each other and all the things a young couple does.

Sitting by the river, this was the last night they could spend together before (Y/N) 's wedding. The girl looked at her finger, the gold ring shimmering under the moonlight.

" I don't want to do this. I don't want to marry him. I want to marry you." the girl mumbled, clenching Norman's shoulders.

The boy gave her an apologetic smile and cupped her face between his slender hands. He just looked at her for a while , savoring the moment. Closing his eyes, he pulled the girl in a kiss, feeling her warm lips against his cold ones. This as well could be the last kiss they'd share.

As they pulled away, Norman sighed softly and took (Y/N) 's hand in his. He slowly removed the ring that hugged her finger and threw it in the grass.

(Y/N) raised her eyebrows and looked at the right that was now laying in the grass. Norman struggled to find something in his pocket. Once he pulled the small box out, he closed his eyes for a brief moment and sighed.

" The stars in the sky,
Match the sparkle in your eye.
Love starts with a dance,
Then blooms into romance.
If two become one,
It’s a lot more fun.
My request is simply:
Will you please marry me?" the boy opened the box and smiled softly as the girl started crying.

(Y/N) screamed yes a thousand times, throwing her arms around the now beyond happy boy. He embraced her in a tight hug and cried as well. He felt his coat get soaked in warm tears from the young girl he loved.

" B-But what about the wedding tomorrow? O-Or my parents?" the girl managed to say in between her sobs.

Norman rubbed his temples and pulled her away from him, now looking straight into her eyes.

" Let's runaway together."
