9- Sacrifices 🌙
Grian woke up.
What happened?
He felt refreshed and a lot better.
Oh no..
He had slept! He was a mooner he wasn't supposed to do that! What was he going to do now?!
"Sleep?!" The voices screamed.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry." Grian mumbled, why was he surrendering to imaginary conversations?
"Grian!" Mumbo walked over to the the bed Grian was laying on. "Are you ok? Feeling better? I got you water." He smiled.
"I-Im ok. What happened?" Grian said as calmly as possible.
"While we were talking you passed out. I totally caught you though. Then I didn't know what to do so I put you on my bed. I didn't know where yours was," Mumbo explained.
"I don't think you caught me." Grian smirked
"I didn't." Mumbo admitted, laughing.
"Well thanks for taking care of me.. I- I think I should go." Grian stood up. "Ok, but do you need anything? You were sleeping forever." Mumbo took a few steps closer to where Grian was walking.
"No, No I'm ok! Thanks!" Grian flew out as soon as he could. Something bad was going to happen. He knew it. He looked at the Suns position, it was probably around 3 pm, it was going to set soon. (Daylight savings)
Grian landed in his alleyway. Waiting for whatever consequences he felt coming.
"Grian!" The voices echoed in his head. Loud, and angry. It gave him a headache.
"Sleep!"
"No!" The voices repeated "no" many times.
While the voices were screaming, Grian detached from reality, his head hurt and he forgot he was in the real world. He thought he was in a screaming jury of angry voices, being voted guilty on an accidental crime. Of course, he was still guilty, but he didn't mean to. Grian shut his eyes hard, grabbing his head begging for the voices to shut up. For the pain to stop. He opened his eyes and he was no where.
He looked around. A blank, black void with nothing in it. Wasn't he in the alleyway? Maybe his eyes we're messed up. He backed up to see if he'd bump into anything, no. The void kept going and going. He turned around to kept saying better look of the area. He saw something.
A completely white figure standing put in the dark infinite space. The figure looked as if Grians shadow but in inverted colors. His hair and wings. A smile on his face. Grian noticed the voices were still screaming but the volume didn't affect him now, they seemed to be far away.
As the blank figure approached the voices got louder. Grian noticed how animated his walking was. Like he was in a 60 frames per second animation.
"Sleep?" It said.
It sounded just like the voices.
"N-no.." Grian responded after a pause. He didn't know what it meant. He thought it meant if sleep was ok. The figure grabbed Grian by the neck pushing him down onto the floor, the floor was watery. It must have been very shallow. There was almost no water, it was a puddle. A puddle all the way through the void.
"You've forgotten!" It screamed, the grin quickly turning to a frown. "No sleep! Rules rules! You broke them! You've forgotten! No sleep! Rules rules! You broke them! You've forgotten!"
It repeated the sentence twice. Grian tried to get the hand off his throat, but the grip was too strong. He started to lose his breath, he was suffocating!
"I'm sorry!" Grian squeaked. Was the figure dripping? It felt like it was a wax candle slowly burning without a flame. "No!" It yelled, "Sorry isn't enough! You wanted to commit? Commit! Make a sacrifice! You apologize!" The voices were so realistic now. There used to be a word left out of a sentence somewhere. A word reminding him it wasn't real.
But now it felt too real. It was talking like a human. He felt like he was actually in trouble (which he was).
Grian realized he was probably running out of time, he was trying to breath as much as he could.
"Sacrifice! Sacrifice! Sacrifice!" The other voices yelled. Other? The one in front of him could have been the "main" voice. The complementary ones sounding like a stadium. A crowd, a fanbase cheering for whatever the figure said.
"O-ok!" Grian gasped for air once he felt the force disappear. He couldn't see though, had his eyes closed. He opened them.
Grian saw himself in front of a mirror with a scalpel in his hand. What's happening?
"Sacrifice!"
"Sacrifice!"
"Sacrifice!"
"Sacrifice!"
They all chanted. Louder and louder. Demanding what had to be done.
"Eye!"
He heard one of them say.
His eye? Wait wait, excuse me? His eye?! This wasnt right. He needed that, didnt he..?
"You have another one."
Grian looked into mirror, he had been staring at the scalpel. He saw the blank figure again. The grin became a smile. A happy face.
It was right. He did have another one.
Was he stupid? No! He wasn't! He couldnt possibly be agreeing with this villan. The voices were still screaming "sacrifice", Grian couldn't focus. He couldnt breathe. It felt like the pressure was being put back onto him. He looked, trying to clear his vision of the tears- the tears! He was crying? That's why his eyes hurt. More of those moon rocks were falling. He didn't focus on them so he didn't realize.
He was in his head again. He looked back to the mirror, no figure having him in a choke hold.
The voices still screaming.
Grians hands were shaking.
Crying, he was a mess. He wanted to be done!
"Calm down!" He told himself. "If you close your eyes, it won't hurt. Let them do it for you."

Grian looked into the mirror at the bandages. It had been almost a week since that happened. Although it didn't hurt, the bandages seemed a little bloody.
Grian got out another roll to replace them. He starting to carfully remove the bandages, slowly. The area around it was gorey, as he remembered but it was healing faster.
He caught a glimpse of something yellow. Grian was confused, and curious, of course.
Once removed he saw a crescent moon shape, replacing where his eye once was.
