Since I agreed my training immediately started. Raphael left. He really didn't want to, but I convinced him. He should not be in the institute longer than necessary. I knew the Shadowhunters did not want him to be here. Most of them also did not want me to be here too. After all I was more a vampire than a nephilim or something else. They were afraid.

Jace told me to follow him and I did what he told me. He brought me to the training room.

Jace: "So that's our training room.  Here we have the..." I interrupted him.

Freja: "Alec already showed me some while ago."

Jace: "Oh okay. I'm sorry. Well, then..."

I felt kind of guilty. Jace was always so nice to me but I keep giving him back mean comments. He does not deserve it.

Jace: "Where do you want to start?"

Freja: "It's up to you."

Jace: "I usually fight with a dagger. Let's try that out first."

He put a dagger into my hand and lay his hand on top of mine. He stood close behind me. If Raphael saw this he would probably rip his throat out. Jace guided my hand. The dagger started to glow. I could see the energy coming from it.

Jace: "See? It knows you are one of us. You are a shadowhunter."

Freja: "I don't think I am."

Jace: "You need to start believing in it." He smiled and separated from me.

I held the dagger in my own hand. It was still glowing and full of energy. I didn't know what to do with it anymore so I gave it back to Jace. He took and and went away, just to come back with wooden sticks. I liked the dagger more. He threw one of the sticks toward me.

Jace: "Fight me." He smiled.

It took me two seconds to inflame the stick. He let in fall onto the floor and looked towards me, definitely surprised.

Jace: "Wow. Not bad. You learned that fast. What else can you do?"

Freja: "Fire, water, wind, earth, plants, portals... Whatever you want me to do. Magnus is a pretty good teacher."

I heard someone behind us and turned around. It was Alec.

Alec: "Magnus is the best teacher." He grinned.

I liked to see the connection between Magnus and Alec. It was a lot stronger than the bond between Raphael and me.

Alec: "I wanted to apologize, Freja."

Freja: "For what?" I was confused. I couldn't think about something he did to me.

Alec: "I was so angry at you after you left. Maybe that was one of the reasons you decided to stay with the vampires."

Freja: "No worries. It's alright. I understand you. I didn't want to stay with any of you in the first place but the faeries almost killed me and Raphael saved me. One came to another. It's nice there. You should visit us from time to time. Magnus is our permanent guest." I smiled. Alec smiled too.

Alec: "Thank you. I appreciate it. But if I would enter the hotel I would get killed. They don't want nephilims there." He laughed.

Freja: "They won't dare to touch you."

Alec: "You have some influence on them, don't you?"

Freja: "I guess tho. I mean, I'm the girlfriend of the leader. They just show some respect."

Jace: "You are together?"

I just nodded. He looked at me in a certain way that I could not really explain. Someone else appeared behind us. It was a tall girl with red hair. Clary, from what Raphael and Simon told me.

Clary: "Jace, here you are. Come on, we need to go on a mission. A demon attack near the werewolf pack. Hurry up."

Alec: "Shall I join in too?"

Clary: "The order was Clary, Jace and Izzy. Go to Magnus. You haven't been with him since some days."

Jace wanted to go away, stopped, grabbed my upper arm and whispered something into my ear "Remember, you can't trust everyone. Choose your friends wisely." Great advice... Already knew that. Then he disappeared through the door. I was alone with Alec. 

Freja: "Trouble in paradise?"

Alec: "What do you mean?"

Freja: "Haven't been at Magnus apartment for a while?"

Alec: "A lot of orders came in. It's almost like the clave does not want me to have free time."

Freja: "But now you have some. You should go."

Alec grinned. We left the institute together.

Freja: "You need a portal? The world is a dangerous place." I laughed.

Alec: "Sure why not. I'm impressed by your magic. Show me your portals."

I made portal and seconds later we were in Magnus living room. He was in the bedroom and just shouted something,

Magnus: "Could you please just use the door, my precious little warlock. I begin to regret teaching you portals. You have two legs. Walk with them."

Freja: "But I brought someone with me." I laughed.

Magnus appeared at the door.

Magnus: "Alexander? It's so nice to see you. I've missed you so much."

He came towards Alec and hugged him tight. They were cute together. I decided to go and let them alone.

Back in Hotel Dumort Raphael was already waiting for me.

Raphael: "You smell like Shadowhunters. No me gusta."

Freja: "Well, sorry, I guess. I'll go and shower."

Raphael: "I need a shower too. I'll come with you."

If I learned anything it's: When Raphael says something, he means it. 

When we were in bed, Raphael already asleep, I thought about what was about to happen now. It couldn't stay like that. I just could not stay in the hotel forever. I'll grow old and Raphael needs to see me die. He needs to see almost everyone die. I've thought about it since a long time. I didn't know if I was immortal or not. Warlocks and vampires are, nephilim, faeries and werewolves aren't. There could be a possible change I wasn't able to die. There was only one way to find out. I needed to try it out.
