I felt tears clouding my vision but I was stronger than that.  I started walking back towards the pack house but the closer I got,  the more pain I felt.  It was like he rejected me.  Or maybe he just didn't recognize me?

Taking a deep breath,  I decided to do something totally opposite.  I ran deeper into the forest, away from these special warewolves,  away from this special place.

As I got deeper,  my senses started to blur and something started feeling off.

"Can I have a run? " My wolf asked.  I wanted to give in but the same sent from before caught my attention.  I took slow steps in it's direction and reached near a lake. Scanning the area,  my eyes finally landed on him.

There he was,  sitting alone,  his feet submerged into the water. As if sensing me,  he lifted his face up and our eyes met once again.  A beautiful smile embraced his face and his hand moved up signalling a Hii.

I started taking slow steps towards him, still fearful that he might run away any minute. "I'm sorry. " He said.  His voice was low but I heard him loud and clear.  Maybe this was my chance to get closer to my mate.

I sat beside him,  putting my feet in the cold water. He was quite again and even though I wanted to talk to him,  my lips didn't allow me to speak.  I looked around and saw that it was a small lake,  maybe a pond surrounded by the forest.  Far from the eyes of this world.  "You're beautiful. " He said.  He was still not looking at me and for a moment I felt like I had started imagining things.

"Why did you run? " I asked.  He sighed. "My gamma... Well,  he kind of got some weird news that might put my entire pack in danger.  So, I had to go check it out myself. " He said.  So he wasn't running away from me,  he had some work.

I smiled at the thought and I saw him smile back.

"So..." He said.

"So... " I said.

"What's your name? " He asked.

"Eliza Watson,  I came here as one of the three students from Hamilton. For,  I guess studying for now. " I said, I guess a bit too much because I pretty much saw an amused smile on his face but he quickly covered it up.

There was a brief silence before he spoke again.  "I am Alpha Dylan of The Northwoods."

So he was also an Alpha. But then  a weird thought occurred to me,  even though it was impossible but,

"Does this pack has two Alphas? " I asked.

I could easily tell from his expression that I was wrong and that Alpha Flin might be a guest.

"Who's the other Alpha? " He asked.

"Alpha Flin,  I was introduced to him after my arrival. " I said.

He was once again silent for a moment, as if pondering on what I just said. If there was some other wolf calling him an Alpha then he was definitely a threat. 

"Well,  let's go meet your Alpha Flin. " He said and stood up. I was shocked at his sudden excitement and was about to get up as well but then he then stopped and gave me his hand.  It was a small gesture but it was enough to satisfy me.

I guess I'll finally be happy somewhere.

"Was it this office?" Alpha Dylan, or basically my mate asked me as we stood outside the large doors of Alpha Flin's office. I gave him a nod and he walked in straight without knocking.

"Hii brother." Alpha Flin said as he looked at the two of us entering. His eyes landed on me and I swear I saw them turn red for an instant. We won't be friends for sure.

"I heard you are calling yourself the Alpha?" Alpha Dylan asked. What did he mean? Was Flin not an Alpha?

"I never did. Who told you that?" Flin straight away denied and I looked at him with disgust! I hate liars!

"Eliza?"

"But he-"

"Did I ever tell you that I'm the Alpha?" Flin asked me and after replaying our conversation in my mind for a thousand times I realized it was partially my mistake. I did not ask him beforehand.

"No he didn't. It was my mistake." I sighed and looked down at my feet.

I wonder what my mate was thinking about me. Tears dwelled in my eyes and I felt my cheek moisten. I was never the type to show my weakness in front of anyone but somehow, it felt almost impossible to control myself in front of my mate.  I felt his finger touch my chin, making me look up at him and he gave me a beautiful smile.

"It's okay darling, it was a misunderstanding." He said in the sweetest voice possible and I couldn't hold my tears anymore. I hugged him tightly and started crying harder. He simply creased my hair and slowly I regained my posture and he helped me stand back.

I peeked at Flin to find him looking at me with disgust. What the hell is wrong with this guy.

"Eliza, this is Flin Grey, my younger brother." Dylan said pointing at Flin who waved at me.

"Flin, this is Eliza,... my mate." Flin's eyes widened as he stood right in front of me with the speed of lightning. I felt the air thicken around us but when I looked at the two, it felt like it was only me who thought so.

"So you mean she isn't one of your toys but your actual mate!" He shouted and it was my turn to look at him with wide eyes.

What the hell did he mean by toys?

"No she isn't and how many times do I have to repeat myself,  I don't use she-wolves as my toys! " Alpha Dylan yelled, his voice holding a power even hard for me to withstand.

Flin was shocked by this sudden outburst but instead of showing his respect towards his Alpha,  he chose to smirk and leave, but not before whispering in my ears,  "I'll be waiting. "

What exactly was he waiting for,  I had no clue but something told me it was no good.
