Aiko's strange abilities begin manifesting in school. Her powers of shadow manipulation save her from a malevolent spirit, but her classmates start noticing the strange things happening around her.

Aiko (feeling the shadows move at her command): "It's happening again. The darkness... it's all around me. But it listens to me, follows my will. What am I becoming?"

Hiroshi (a classmate, confronting her after witnessing her abilities): "I saw what you did. The shadows... they answered to you."

Aiko (denying): "You don't know what you're talking about."

Hiroshi: "Don't lie to me, Aiko. You're not the only one with secrets."
