A massive confrontation occurs between Aiko and the dark spirits, along with Hiroshi, who is torn between helping Aiko and fulfilling his duty to prevent the curse from being broken. Aiko taps into the full extent of her powers but comes dangerously close to losing herself to the zombie curse.

Aiko during the final battle:

Aiko (facing the leader of the dark spirits): "I'm not afraid of you anymore. I've accepted what I am. But I won't let you control me!"

Spirit Leader: "You've already lost, girl. The more you fight, the closer you come to becoming one of us!"

Aiko (clenching her fists as shadows swirl around her): "Maybe. But I'll use every bit of this power to protect the people I love. That's what makes me different from you!"
