❝ Are you kidding me? You have to apply! If I didn't already have a job, I'd be done with the interview already! ❞
SUMMARY:
❝ There was a whole magnificent soul burning behind her shy. ❞
Tony Stark was a playboy. There was no other way to say it. He would find the prettiest girls, try them out and then move on. It was how he worked. Many people frowned upon this practice. "Love is precious, don't waste it," they would tell him. Being the egotistic billionaire that he was, Tony never listened.
Dianthe Amora never wanted to be in the spotlight. In fact, she went out of her way to avoid it. Boys would come chasing after her with flowers and smile, only to be turned down. She wanted no part in love - unless she knew you would be faithful and the one she wanted to be with. She was a housekeeper, someone who kept things organized, someone who watched from the backgrounds. She was never center stage.
When Tony Stark decides he needs someone to help at the Avengers Tower, hundreds of girls flock to apply. To meet the famous Tony Stark (and the other Avengers, of course)? That's the chance of a lifetime!
At the insistence of her best friend, Dianthe applies, fully expecting to be turned down. Imagine her surprise when she receives an email saying she has been chosen.
But life at the tower poses even more problems than she expected. Such as a specific playboy chasing after her - one she had made very clear to she was not interested in. But like the story of Amphitrite and Poseidon, he never got the hint. Out of all the fish in the sea, he picked the only one who didn't love him back.
❝ So, what about dinner? You and me, a nice restaurant. ❞
⎯ Tony
❝ I'm sorry what? ❞
⎯ Dianthe
❝ I told you Karina, I don't want to apply. I already have a good job! I have people who need me. ❞⎯ Dianthe
❝ Di, you have to. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity! Besides, what are the chances you actually get the job? At least apply for God's sake.❞
⎯ Karina
Epigraph Quote

Additional Information:
- Dianthe is very shy, she never likes attention. She can get a bit tongue-tied when she's in the spotlight. She's just not interested in having attention.
- Karina on the otherhand, is loud and boisterous.
- The two of them are pretty much opposites, but they get along so well. They've been friends for years, and are super close. Naturally, there's a good amount of bickering. But Dianthe isn't really one to continue an argument, so they all die out pretty quickly. Both of them are only-children, and so they've found a sister in each other.
- Please don't change their names!
- Karina is a journalist, but she encourages Dianthe to apply for the job because she is obsessed with the Avengers.
- This is based on the story of Amphitrite and Posiedon, which is a Greek myth about about how there are 50 Nereids (sea nymphs), and they all like Posiedon, but he falls for the one Nereid who isn't interested in him, Amphitrite. Tony is Posiedon, Dianthe is Amphitrite and the other 49 Nereids are all other girls who come after Tony.
- Dianthe doesn't approve of Tony's playboy-ness. She doesn't really approve of him in general. She's just there for the experience and because of Katrina.
- It starts off with Dianthe getting home from a job or from going out. When she gets home, she finds Karina there (maybe the two of them share an apartment? you can decide). Karina shows her the ad that she found, saying that the Avengers need pretty much a housekeeper: someone to help clean and maintain the tower.
- It's not a glamorous job. But because it's the Avengers (and Tony Stark), lots of people come flocking.
- Dianthe doesn't want to apply. She already has a job, she's got faithful clients. If she did this, she would leave them behind. But Karina is insistent. There's hundreds of people applying. What are the chances she actually gets it?
- So Dianthe relents. She can never really resist Karina's arguments. Don't get me wrong, she's got a hell of a backbone, but with her sister-figure, she's a bit more lenient.
- And so Dianthe applies. Then she goes back to her business and is perfectly content. She forgets about the ad, and life goes back to normal.
- A few weeks later, she gets an email that says she's been chosen. Dianthe is speechless. She absolutely never in a million years thought that she'd be the one picked. And for some reason, despite all her arguing beforehand, she accepts the job. She packs her bags and moves to the tower to be the housekeeper.
- There are others there. The Tower is huge, so they hire somewhere between 5-20 people. A lot of them are only there for the Avengers, not for the job. A few get fired because they lied about their qualifications. But Dianthe proves herself to be reliable and kind. You can have her make friends with some of the others, but she's not particularly talkative, so it's a bit awkward at first.
- Tony immediately likes her. He starts flirting, but Dianthe just doesn't respond to it. There are quite a few hilarious (and quite annoying, to Tony) instances where he tries to flirt and she takes his works literally.
- After a little while, he asks her out. Just plain old asking her out, no games or flirting. Dianthe point blank refuses, telling him she is not interested. She doesn't really care if she's fired for it, she never really wanted to be there in the first place. But Tony doesn't listen. He keeps asking her out, he keeps trying.
- This isn't supposed to be a super long story, but you're welcome to add other plot twists. Otherwise, I'd say keep it at around 20-30 chapters!
- In the original myth, when Poseidon keeps pressing, Amphitrite runs away, and Poseidon has to recruit a friend to help him win her heart. If you want to follow this story line for Dianthe and Tony, you're welcome to! It'd be interesting to see Dianthe just quit when he gets too annoying (which greatly surprises him) and go back to her old job. When he presses as says something about how the other's are all interested in him, it's just her who doesn't seem to like him, she'd fire back, saying that she never actually wanted this job. Then she walks away, he's speechless, and the next day she's gone. If this happens, then the other Avengers are pissed. They all really liked Dianthe.
