Chapter 27: Never Worn White
(Me being a bad writer for thirty minutes. I'm serious when I say I might rewrite the recent chapters just so I can write the Disney wedding I want for them. Guess what I did-
Me also realizing Katy was talking about being pregnant or sm-
Oh and Herooji I stole an idea from you, sorry!)
October 13th
Was chocolate really good? It seemed so bitter. So bitter. So you put strawberries in it? Or dipped strawberries in chocolate? Kinda weird. Nejire preferred Caramel but it was Ryuko's wedding.
Wait, Ryuko didn't even like chocolate.
What kind of pregnancy cravings was this?
Wait, was Ryuko pregnant? (0-0)
Nope, not even gonna dive into that. Too much. Today was her special day and Nejire was gonna hold back on all of the weird questions just because she was nice like that. Who was she kidding, she was just gonna ask in three weeks.
The maid of honor and a friend helped Ryuko get into her dress after doing her makeup. She had tied her large bang back. Her face completely visible to Nejire for the first time in a about a year. She had really gorgeous eyes. Ryuko was just gorgeous to be honest. No homo. Of course, she wouldn't admit that she was gorgeous. Either because she was too humble or she was self conscious and believed she wasn't.
When Ryuko looked at herself in the mirror, she just paused and felt like the world was spinning. Her friend, Emi, put on the veil so she was ready to take a few pictures. She felt like a princess.
"Don't cry Ryuko! You can cry later. Yeah, cry later." Emi said, trying to think of good words.
Ryuko started looking up and fanning her eyes.
"Why's she crying?" Rumi asked.
"I look so pretty!" She whined.
"Yes you do. It's no reason to cry." Rumi said, rubbing circles into her back. Ryuko stopped trying not to cry after a few minutes because she didn't feel like crying anymore. Only a bit of her makeup was ruined and it was easy enough to just fix before taking a few photos.
Nejire told Eri to come over. She didn't have her hair done and the ceremony was supposed to start in twenty minutes. She told Eri to sit in a chair and started to brush it out.
"Pigtails, space buns, or one bun?" She asked Ryuko.
"Space Buns." She said and continued taking a few pictures. It was about four in the afternoon. Ryuko quickly went over her vows for the fifth and final time that day. She had memorized them but she knew she would forget the second she started walking.
Nejire finally finished Eri's hair while they were still taking photos. The bridal party took one large photo together before they finally began walking to the chapel area.
--------
The wedding had to be changed a bit. The mother of the bride didn't walk the aisle because she had been cut off a long time ago. (Imma have to get to that someday but not today.)
The groom walked down the aisle first. No one had been substituted for her mother. Then the best man, Rumi's boyfriend, walked after the groom. Then the groomsmen and the groom's younger sister walked down the aisle. The girl was the same age as Momo and instead of wearing the light pink the bridesmaids wore, she wore a navy blue teacup dress that was decorated in jewels and lace. She definitely looked amazing, though it seemed like she didn't want to be there.
(Haha I'm sneaky.)
The groomsmen and groom's sister stood next to Shinya. Then the bridesmaids walked down the aisle, single file, standing next to where Ryuko would stand. As Nejire passed by, she could see Tamaki sitting in a chair. He actually came? Her already good mood just shot through the roof.
When Rumi finished walking down the aisle, Eri and Kouta slowly did. Eri didn't understand where she was supposed to throw the flowers so she threw them at Kouta and on the ground at the same time. Everyone found it adorable but Kouta was annoyed by the flowers in his hair.
Finally, everyone stood up when the music kicked in. Or at least that iconic song that was played when the bride walked down the aisle.
Ryuko walked into the chapel and stopped next to Taishiro. No dad to walk her down, they substituted him for her brother. She saw the face on her fiancé and just smiled. Should she still call him her fiancé? Well, In twenty or thirty minutes, not anymore.
The priest went on and on. Eri looked tired of standing and had run out of flowers. Now she was just picking flowers from Kouta's hair until he was called up to present the rings. Now she had more flowers so hell yes.
During the vows, Nejire looked to Tamaki and just smiled. When she turned back around, she heard a camera click. Oh, did she just ruin a picture? Shit-
The priest said that weird long conversation that would usually end with an "I do."
Shinya said the first "I do" with confidence.
The priest repeated himself, replacing "wife" with husband.
Ryuko laughed and said "I do!" with glee just glowing on her face.
"You may now kiss the bride."
Shinya and Ryuko were quick to obey. They held each other's face and kissed for about five seconds.
(Guys I'm in love-)
They walked down the aisle and Ryuko laughed. She was so happy and it was adorable to see that happy look on her face.
The carriage that drove her to the chapel ( I hate the word groom, I hate word chapel-) was still there to drive them out. The footmen looked like the people from Cinderella. The horses (?) even had those little headpieces the Cinderella mice/horse thingies had.
(Why am I actually impressed even tho I probably did a horrible job.)
(Haha I'm making a long chapter so y'all have to wait longer.)
The area the reception was held looked like the ballroom in Beauty and the Beast. Maybe it would've been better if she wore a princess gown. Well, it was far too late now!
The reception was pretty fun. Nejire spent the day hanging out with Tamaki at the few moments when Ryuko and Shinya weren't talking or doing something important.
There wasn't a lot of people at the wedding. Only friends, family, the two parties, the ballet class, and like twenty other people. Hey, at least that meant the cake didn't have to be too big... No it meant they're lonely or didn't want too many people.
So now it was about five thirty. It was a weekend so none of the kids that were forced to come were missing out on school.
"Tamaki, can we talk?" Nejire asked. Tamaki raised and eyebrow and looked into her large eyes. He didn't want to read her mind but he wanted to know... selfish, he knew, but still!
"Nejire! Cmon, she's throwing the the flower thingies!" Mina shouted. Mina was Eijirou's date. Nejire was dragged to the group of women. Everyone seemed to get ready to have a cat fight over a damn bouquet. (Can I friggen throw hands with the word bouquet, groom, and chapel?)
Ryuko turned around so her pick wasn't biased. Nejire looked at Momo who seemed uninterested in grabbing it, Mina who seemed kinda excited, she was actually ready to tackle someone, and then there was the groom's sister, Reiko. Reiko looked like she was five seconds from passing out.
Ryuko raised her hand as if she were gonna throw it and then didn't. Everyone paused as Ryuko slowly walked up to Rumi, handing it to her. Rumi was the most confused person in the room. She was getting goosebumps, especially because she took off the jacket.
(She should've worn a jumpsuit, gimme a damn minute-)
Ryuko pointed behind her and Rumi turned around. Her boyfriend, the best man, was on one knee, holding a ring...
"You're next." She said and backed away. Rumi cried and said yes, ending that segment of the reception.
Well damn, now Nejire's confession felt dumb.
-------
(Haha I have to be dramatic cuz this has been planned for two months now. FRICK TAMAKI'S AS TALL AS ME.)
While the girls were catching bouquets, Shinya knew what was about to happen. He knew Keigo was about to propose. They approved of it even though he never asked to do so. They just knew he wanted to propose and wanted to give him a good place so that it would be special. So, watching is was kind of cool for Shinya. He slowly walked up behind Tamaki as he watched.
As Keigo kneeled down, Shinya whispered in Tamaki's ear. It was funny because he was taller than him, but what he said was extremely bone chilling. Tamaki's non beating heart was beating like a drum. Impossible, ain't it?
"Look at all these people." He said with a smile. He gestured toward all the happy people. His smile, it was fake. "They're the only reason you're alive."
Such a happy place. It was DisneyLand and Shinya said such chilling words.
Everyone was too amazed by the proposal to realize what was going on with Tamaki.
(I had to. I had to ok?)
Then everyone went back to happily smiling. Nejire walked back over, looking slightly gloomy. She wasn't as perky as she was only five minutes ago. She looked nearly as sad as Reiko.
"W-whats wrong?" Tamaki asked.
"N-nothing."
Tamaki looked into her eyes, he didn't read her mind but knew something was wrong. Looked like she felt upstaged? How he got that from a simple gloomy look? He had no idea, but whatever.
"No Nejire what's wro-"
"Why the hell is Beyoncé playing?" Nejire asked. No one even started singing. She just knew that song's melody. When she turned to look at the Bride, the 'father' daughter dance was starting. Well, it was with Taishiro.
"Remember those walls I built, well baby their tumbling down~"
Nejire and Tamaki looked at them and just glued their eyes to Ryuko and Taishiro. When it finally ended, Ryuko hugged her brother tightly before dancing with Shinya.
"These are good song choices." It was Katy Perry. She could see them murmur "I Love you"'s to each other.
-------
The reception was close to being over. Only an thirty minutes left. Nejire noticed how multiple couple had began dancing with friends/partners. Reiko and the flower girl's brother (I had to), the newly engaged couple, the obvious newly weds, Eijirou and Mina, and Momo and her boyfriend.
"Wanna dance?" Nejire asked. Tamaki's eyes dilated as he nodded. Nejire kept telling herself "it's now or never."
When they got to the dance floor, a slow song started playing. The sky was no longer a pretty coral and pink, it was a dark navy blue, basically black color. Tamaki felt far more happy with it being dark.
Nejire put her head comfortably on his chest. She felt a bit awkward with their positioning though. She took a deep breath before saying something that might ruin their friendship.
"Tamaki, can I tell you something?"
Tamaki nodded.
"Well... I guess it's weird because we've only hung out a few times but..."
His mind was racing. Oh god, this wasn't what he thought it was, was it? No no no no no. What if Shinya hurt her? Those officers a few months ago attacked her just for getting in the way, would he attack her for being with him.
"I like you."
"O-oh."
"Oh? Let me guess, you don't feel the same way?"
He felt the exact same.
"I-I I do, but I... it doesn't make sense but... we can't be together right now." He said.
"Oh." He must've had a girlfriend. He was so loyal. Such... a good boyfriend...
Nejire could feel her eyes water. This was the one time she thought she had a chance of not being rejected. He said he felt the same but he couldn't be with her?
"We can still be great... great... friends. Can't we?" She strained to say. She felt so silly and stupid for even thinking she had a chance.
"Of course." He said. He was just as sad as her. She wouldn't believe him if he said "I'm sorry, I can't date you, I'm a vampire, your friend's husband might kill you because of me, and I like you. Sorry." Stupid huh?
"I'm sorry."
(AHHH 2000 WORDS. I KNOW I WROTE WEDDING EVENTS OUT OF ORDER BUT I DONT CARE. Also lol, I realized it would be a bit cliche if he said yes to her, that's why he said no. And Herooji gave me the idea of having Hawks propose during their wedding. Of course, with Ryuko and Shinya's permission tho.
So, next chapter is gonna be a bit better, don't worry!
And poor Nejire ;-;.)
