Chapter 14: Say Yes

(This chapter is slightly rushed, so there's gonna be a time skip, no Ryushot, just platonic Ryuko and Nejire action. And I wrote this before I started writing so, you know this is rushed af.

I swear, this chapter took me an entire day.)

Mirio helped put everyone's bags in the car. Yuyu was strong and able to help out a bit, but Mirio got three bags in. Yuyu saw it as a game and got mad when she lost.

"I didn't expect Yuyu to have such a cute bag. You act so tough then your have a Hello Kitty bag." Mirio teased. Yuyu stuck her tongue out.

"Nejire sit back here, I'm braiding your hair." Kaoruko said. Nejire nodded, following her friend's orders. The drive seemed shorter somehow. It always feels like road trips to the place your going feels longer, then on the way back, it felt shorter.

Mirio was being a complete dad and jamming to the music. When Yuyu tried to change it, he changed it back and said "driver picks the music".

"YOU WANNA SAY SO." Nejire screamed along with the song. "Didn't even notice, nanananana, I bet you couldn't focus, you wanna say so." She sang the completely wrong lyrics. No one called her out because Nejire was precious and it was a harmless error.

Nejire felt like she was forgetting something. Like something really important. Dammit. Now she was thinking about it and she wouldn't stop thinking about it until she figured out what she forgot.

She had her hairdryer, her clothes, her swimsuit, and a few other things...

Fu-

Tamaki.

She actually forgot him. Now she felt horrible. She didn't even say bye. Damn. Now she felt like a bad friend. While the topic of Tamaki was on her mind, Taishiro gave his kids phones. Tamaki didn't? Maybe he didn't want one. That was probably the answer. He looked like one of those people who just don't want a phone for all sorts of reason. Privacy? Probably privacy.

"You ok? You've been quiet for a while." Mirio asked.

"Hm? I'm fine." Nejire said.

"Ya sure? Your favorite song came on and you didn't start screaming it. I had my phone prepared and everything."

"Sorry! I was just thinking of something." She was forgetting something else now. "Oh, Frick! I forgot to text my mom." She grumbled. Yuyu squinted her eyes.

"No cursing for the child." She said. Nejire stuck her tongue out and texted her mom.

The only thing her mom said was 'did you call Ryuko?"

"Well thanks for caring about my wellbeing mother." Nejire murmured. She didn't call her mother unless she was being sarcastic.

Wait, she didn't call Ryuko. She seriously texted Ryuko everyday and forgot to call her...

"I am so stupid, oh god." So, she texted Ryuko. It didn't make much sense for her not to call her herself, but it was Ryuko. She was stressed and it must've been important if she needed to call.

Bubbly Idiot: Mom said you needed to talk to me.

Dragon mum: we're dress shopping next week. I should've called, I know, I'm sorry.

Bubbly Idiot: it's fine, who else is going?"

Dragon mum: my bridal party, the ring bearer, and the flower girl. That's it.

Bubbly Idiot: okie dokie

Nejire felt bad for her. She was stressed and parents were telling her to stop coming to ballet classes so she could rest. At least her fiancé was home that day. Nejire has never met 'Shinya', but Ryuko seemed happy being with him, so she didn't mind it.

The drive seemed to take thirty minutes instead of two hours. It was weird to Nejire. Why did it take so long to get there, but so little to go home? She wasn't dropping this because she needed the answer!

But Mirio dropped Nejire off first, helping her get her bag out. The first thing she did when she got inside was hug her mother. Her dad dipped on his coffee in an weird way.

(Lmao, originally she wasn't supposed to come back-)

-------
A week later

(I told y'all this was rushed.)

Nejire put on a nice outfit and brushed her teeth. Her mom was driving her to the place she needed to be. (Me being an 'amazing' author) Did she need to dress up? Probably not.

Nejire honestly thought there was gonna be a lot of people viewing Ryuko try wedding dresses. Then her mom dropped her off and there was only a few people. Taishiro, seven friends, Momo, herself, the flower girl, and the ring bearer. Ryuko really didn't have any friends, did she?

(I'm going off what I see from Say Yes To The Dress so yell at me if I'm doing it wrong-)

Ryuko's mother and father weren't even at the dress shopping? Nejire met them before, on Ryuko's twentieth birthday. It had been six years since she had seen them. Maybe they had died? Taishiro and Ryuko probably cut them off. They weren't the nicest people.

"Hey Nejire!" Momo said, inviting her to sit next to her. Taishiro waved at her as she sat down.

"Hey Momo! Hey Tai! How's Eijirou and Tamaki?"

Both of them paused for a moment. They were fine with him acting as if they were related, it was to protect him. They just didn't know he told that to Nejire.

"Oh! They're both fine!" Taishiro spoke up. Momo nodded and went back to her phone. Nejire didn't see Ryuko, she must've been trying on a dress already.

"What kind of dress was she going for?"

"She was going for a Mermaid style dress, but she's open to trying on ballgowns though." Momo said.

The tiny girl who must've been the flower girl looked up at Nejire and smiled. She was adorable. "Hi. My name's Eri!" She said and waved at Nejire. Nejire smiled back and introduced herself.

"You're very pretty Ms.Nejire." Eri said. Nejire was in awe. Eri was so polite. And, she was just precious.

"Thank you Eri!"

As she and Eri talked a bit more, they could hear Ryuko returning. She showed up wearing a, obviously, white dress. It definitely wasn't her ideal dress style. It was a ballgown. She looked ridiculously beautiful. Like a princess. The straps were off of her shoulders, the bodice was a lacy fabric, like the shoulder straps, the design looking somewhat like leaves. The skirt was airy and big. As if it were the 1700s.

"Woah! You look beautiful in that!" Nejire gasped. Taishiro seemed unimpressed, one of the girls she was friends with smiled like she was a proud mom. Momo didn't seem to like it. The ring bearer, Kouta wanted to leave, and Eri thought she looked like a princess.

"I don't like it..."

"It doesn't fit your personality, I'd see it on Nejire, but not you." Momo was brutally honest with her aunt. Ryuko agreed with her.

"Sorry about the wait. They were picking out dresses for me while I waited. I have to try on five more?" She said as if it were a question, not a fact. "But I'll be back sooner than I was that time."

She walked back to the dressing room. Nejire thought about the wedding. What colors did they think of having the bridesmaids wear? She was curious. The bridesmaids chosen had an array of hair and eye colors. Two brunettes, a white haired woman, two blondes, two green haired girls, and herself. The two guys were a different story. The groom was picking that or something.

When Ryuko returned for the second time, she wore a absolutely hideous mermaid dress. She was absolutely gorgeous but the dress wasn't. The white fabric looked like it was made from a horrible material, the design was as if a ogre and a demon had sewn the ugliest dress imaginable. The sleeves were long but made of a horrible material. She was fine with long sleeves, it was a fall wedding. But they weren't lace. Then the tail part was lazy and like Ariel's weird dress that was tied up with rope in 'The Little Mermaid'. It was weird as hell.

"Who picked this out?" She asked in a nice tone, obviously angry. Nejire held back a loud laugh. It looked like her green haired friend had the same idea as her. Well, both green haired friends.

She walked back immediately to change.

"So, you're gonna be the flower girl?"

"Mhm! I'm supposed to throw flower petals at Ms.Tatsuma. I don't know. It seems fun and my daddy asked if I wanted to do it."

"You know, I've always wanted to be a flower girl. But I'm a bridesmaids, so that's amazing."

Ryuko took five minutes this time. She must've been trying to get the dress on, too amazed to walk out yet, or absolutely dreading the dress.

By the time she finally walked out, she wore a sleeveless dress with a sweetheart neckline. There was a small belt around her waist, a rose gold color. The bottom of the dress was beautiful, unlike the last one. It wasn't airy, it was simple and silky. The only issue she seemed to have was the top parr's chest area. There was a slit between both breasts, making her feel a bit uncomfortable.

Taishiro didn't look happy about it. "If you like it, wear it. I don't like the whole slit thing, but other than that it's really nice."

"I don't like that either. The venue isn't planned yet, but we plan on doing it inside a church or something. We're planning this so fast, I'm not even surprised if the wedding turn out badly." She nervously laughed and scratched the back of her head.

She turned around and left. Nejire pulled out her phone and let Eri play on it. She had a few games because she got bored on plane rides and things like that. Ten minutes passed while Eri played on her phone.

Ryuko walked out, wearing the best dress out of the five. She hadn't even tried the fifth one on. Everyone just knew she was gonna pick this one.

(Personally, I think mermaid dresses are weird, but I wanna be Princess Tiana for my wedding so :/. )

The current dress she was wearing was sleeveless. The sweetheart neckline didn't dip too far down, only enough to show a bit of cleavage. She was fine with that bit. The entirety of the dress before the 'tail' was lace over a silklike material. The dress hugged her tightly, making her hourglass form stand out. The 'tail' was a thin material but there was so much of the material, her legs weren't visible.

Nejire was in awe. Ryuko looked amazing. She looked amazing in everything though.

"I love it!" Her white haired friend said. Ryuko looked amazed at herself.

"I think we all love this one a bit more than the others." She giggled. Ryuko seemed so happy. How was she gonna style her hair? She wore it in that classic over the eye style. She never changed it. How was she gonna wear it for her wedding?

"Shinya and I agreed the color scheme was Navy Blue and pink. So the bridesmaids dresses are going to be pink."

The ring bearer, Kouta seemed a bit disturbed by wearing pink. He was a little kid who didn't know both boys and girls could wear pink, sticking to that weird stereotype 'pink is a girl color'. Eri looked pretty excited to wear pink. Especially since she never thought pink looked nice with her hair and eyes.

(Me rushing this part cuz it's late and y'all deserve a chapter.)

The bridesmaids dress were picked to fit what everyone was comfortable with. Rumi wore a tuxedo because she was obviously uncomfortable with the ideas of wearing dresses. The pink dresses were teacup length, the chosen sleeves were off the shoulder. The exact color was Crepe pink.

Ryuko actually looked alive for the first time in a few weeks. Nejire was happy for her.

Ryuko's happiness was a refreshing thing to see after so long.

(YO 2021 WORDS FOR THIS CHAPTER, ARE YALL PROUD? I'm never doing this again until the last chapter. Took me all day. Woke up at 12pm, finished at 9pm. It's all I've been working on today.)
