Together Always (The Madness is Over)- Chapter 53 (FINAL CHAPTER)

Together Always (The Madness is Over)

Chapter 53

Draco spent the night in Anna’s arms, their baby girl asleep in the crib in the room with him. Draco’s joy was such that he could hardly sleep, he just dozed, waking up to kiss or gently touch Anna, still not quite believing he’d actually found her and she was here, lying warm in his arms. But she was, and the excitement of having her again did little to help him sleep. Anna would wake up to and snuggle in closer to him or kiss his neck and face and then fall back to sleep her hands on his chest. After being apart for so long it was still hard to believe that they would now be able to spend every waking moment together, just like this if they chose to and all thanks to Harry defeating Voldemort.

The next morning Anna was in the kitchen fixing breakfast as Draco feed Dora her cereal and bottle. More of the cereal was going on him than in Dora’s mouth. They both started discussing where they would live, but both agreed it would not be Malfoy Manor.

“What about our family's cabin down by the lake?” Draco asked, “it’s large enough and has four bedrooms and we can always add on if we need to. We can keep the townhouse here too if you want to?”

Anna thought about it. The cabin was lovely and it was the place where they had spent the night when she had conceived Dora. Plus it was closer to Andromeda, Teddy and Draco’s parents. “I think it would be a great place to raise a family,” Anna said with a smile as she flipped the pancakes in the skillet. Draco came up behind her, his arms going around her and rested his chin on her neck. Draco asked her if he might be able to contact his mother and father so they could come see Dora. At first Anna was hesitant, but she did not want to hurt Narcissa, so she agreed. They prepared for Narcissa and Lucius’s arrival. The nanny, Ms. O’Donnel showed up and Anna was able to introduce Draco properly as her fiancée and Dora’s father. Ms. O’Donnel was happy to meet him and so thrilled that Anna was going to be married and Dora would be with her father.

There was a knock on the door and Draco went to answer it, thinking it was his parents. He was shocked to see Rafe standing there in the doorway.

“Well I’m glad to see that one of you came to your senses,” Rafe said as Anna walked up beside Draco, taking his hand in her own, the huge diamond shining on her finger.

“She is already taken, Montgomery,” Draco growled, getting angry.

“Good, Malfoy. It’s about time you got around to it,” Rafe said smartly.

Rafe had come to say good-bye to Anna and Dora; he was going back home to America. As he was leaving he hugged Anna, “You better treat her right, Malfoy, or I’ll come across the pond and kick your ass.” Rafe left, promising Anna he would stay in touch.

“He doesn’t have to worry about that,” Draco said, pulling Anna into his arms, “because I plan on treating you like a queen,” he leaned down and kissed her softly. They were interrupted by someone clearing their throat. Narcissa and Lucius had arrived. Narcissa hugged Anna tightly, and Lucius stood off to the side quietly.

“Okay, I want to see my granddaughter,” Narcissa demanded firmly, “I have missed her long enough.”

Anna watched with a smile as Narcissa took Dora into her arms and she saw the tears in the woman’s eyes. Narcissa was a natural with Dora and Anna still could not believe how Dora had taken right to her. Surprisingly, Lucius came over; taking Dora’s little hand in his own. At first Dora gave him a serious look as she studied him. Dora surprised everyone when she started smiling and talking baby talk, reaching her little arms out to Lucius for him to hold her. Lucius took her hesitantly and Dora reached up, grabbing a handful of long silvery hair and pulled it, laughing when Lucius said, “Ow.” Dora and her grandfather hit it off great, both of them laughing and smiling as Dora tugged on his hair some more, getting him to make funny noises.

“Alright, give me my grandbaby back, Lucius,” and Narcissa took Dora from him. Draco and Narcissa were playing with Dora, when Lucius grabbed Anna’s arm gently, “Can I speak to you in private?” he asked, and Anna followed him into the foyer.

Lucius looked like he was unsure how to begin and Anna was a little afraid of him, “I just want to tell you thank you for everything you have done for my son and I am glad to welcome you into our family. I know he loves you and you love him and I just want both of you to be happy,” Anna could tell it was hard for him to say these things, but he seemed sincere.

“Thank you, Mr. Malfoy,” Anna said timidly, a little in shock over this turn around in Lucius Malfoy, “I do love him, with all my heart and I want to make him happy.”

“Please, call me Lucius;” he said with his usual proper, almost snobby voice, “after all we are family.”

Thank you, Lucius,” Anna said smiling, and then she hugged him. At first he did nothing, but then he hugged her back. They both returned to the living room, Draco smiling up at Anna with that heart breaking, sweet smile. Anna was finally with the man that she loved.

A month later, Anna and Draco were married at the beautiful cabin by the lake. They now called it home. They both had worked hard at decorating and refurbishing it, turning it into a nice cozy place to raise Dora and hopefully many future children.

They both had enough money that Anna did not have to work, but Draco decided to work for the Ministry of Magic, working in the Department of Wizard and Muggle Relations of all things. Anna decided to sell her townhouse in London to buy a bookshop on Diagon Alley that sold not only magic books, but muggle books as well.

A year later it was their anniversary and Draco told her to meet him at her bookshop and not to worry because Narcissa and Lucius would be keeping Dora. He told her to dress in her finest gown.

It was getting late, but finally the little bell on the door rang as Draco walked in, looking gorgeous in his muggle clothing. He was dressed in a nice suit. Anna was wearing her silver and black gown; the same one she had worn the night of The Weasley wedding, in the cabin by the lake, when Dora had come along.

“You look beautiful, Mrs. Malfoy,” he said, pulling her gently into his arms, “I have a surprise for you, so follow me my lady.” He held his arm out to her and Anna took it, locking the shop door as they went out. They made it out onto the London streets, where a limo was waiting on them to climb in. They finally arrived in front of a beautiful theater.

Draco handed her the tickets. It was “Romeo and Juliet.” “Do you remember telling me how much you wished to see Romeo and Juliet back at Hogwarts and I told you how I would like to go with you?”

“Yes,” Anna said with a smile, remembering from when they were younger, tears forming in her eyes.

“Well, here we are,” he said smiling. Anna hugged him, kissing his cheek and then his lips. Draco helped her out of the limo and led her into the theater. They had boxed seats in the balcony, private and to themselves. They sat there, cuddled together, watching the play unfold until the end. Anna had to sniff back tears. The play had been beautiful, yet tragic. Anna realized that it was a lot like her and Draco’s story, which could have ended tragically as well, but theirs had turned into a happy ending.

“I have a surprise for you as well,” Anna whispered against Draco’s lips, kissing him deeply. Draco pulled her onto his lap, his hands running back through her beautiful dark hair, “Dora is going to be a big sister."

Draco looked at her puzzled at first.

I am pregnant,” she said softly in his ear.

Draco shocked her when he stood up, pulling her with him and shouting with joy, his voice echoing through the theater, “I am going to be a father again!” he yelled. Some of the people down below who were still leaving the play began to applaud and Draco laughed with joy, “Anna, you don’t know how much I’ve been hoping for this,” Draco took Anna in his arms and dipped her like a dance, looking at her deeply, “I love you,” he whispered, “and I always will. You have made me the happiest man on earth again and I want even more children. I want to fill that cabin with more of our children until we have to add even more bedrooms.”

Anna laughed, wrapping her arms around his neck, “And I love you.” Anna returned Draco’s kiss deeply. They would be together always and Anna knew whatever life sent their way they would face it together. The madness in their life and world was over and as long as they had each other they would have love. Family and the love they had for each other was all that mattered now.

Anna and Draco had a little platinum haired boy this time and Dora became a big sister. Little Remus "Scorpius" Malfoy had a hard time with his little mummy, as Anna and Draco liked to jokingly call Dora. She took Scorpius everywhere and was a wonderul big sister. It was not long until Anna and Draco were expecting again. This time it was twins. Draco could not be a better father or huband, and he doted on Anna and his children. Anna and Draco got their wish for a big happy family and none of their children would ever know the lonely feeling of being an only child. The madness that had once ruled their life and world was over and now they could sit back and embrace the love that had always been there, just waiting for them to take it.
