Chapter 4
Lightkit got up and stretched, confused about whether she had just had a strangely vivid dream, or if it was real.
She sat down for a quick wash, then padded outside into the still air. The moon was still shining overhead, almost completely full. In the bright moonlight, Lightkit spotted the silhouette of a cat, their back turned towards her.
As Lightkit got closer, she started recognizing the features of the cat. It was Duskmoon, the medicine cat. She raised her head as she saw Lightkit, her brown eyes reflecting the moonlight.
"Lightkit, you should be asleep." she almost growled.
"I couldn't." Lightkit replied.
The two cats sat in silence, staring up at the stars. Lightkit felt a warm, Greenleaf breeze whisking through her fur and feathers. She closed her eyes, listening to the quiet sounds of the forest.
Duskmoon suddenly pricked her ears, her tail twitching sharply. The stars reflected in her eyes as a spasm gripped her body, throwing her to the floor. Her eyes glazed over as she started yowling "The moon and the fire!"
The spasm ended as abruptly as it started, leaving Duskmoon exhausted from the stress. Lightkit watched with concern as she stood up, shaking out her pelt. Then Duskmoon dragged her gaze from the moon and stared at Lightkit.
"I just received a vision," she mewed quietly "I have to tell Sparkstar."
The light brown she-cat started to hobble towards the leader's den, but then stopped as Lightkit let her lean onto her side. The two cats made their way slowly into the den, where Sparkstar's sleeping form was curled in the back.
She lifted her head sleepily when Duskmoon walked in, her eyes stretching wide as she saw the look of distress engraved onto the light brown she-cat's face.
"Sparkstar, I've just received a vision." she mewed ominously.
"What's it about?" the leader asked.
"It's about the moon," Duskmoon replied "It said 'the moon will shine bright and the fire will rage. The sun will rise to swamp the sky, while the stars slowly blink away.'"
"What?" asked Sparkstar, clearly as confused as Lightkit.
"I think it means that the stars will die, and StarClan won't be able to guide us anymore," Duskmoon meowed "But I can't be sure."
"I'll tell the other Clans at the next Gathering." Sparkstar mewed.
Lightkit left them to discuss the ominous prophecy and went back to the nursery, falling into a fitful sleep, haunted by Duskmoon's words.

The next morning, Sparkstar called a Clan meeting.
"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey join beneath the Highrock for a Clan meeting!" she yowled.
The Clan obeyed, all the cats gathering under the huge rock. Sparkstar stood at the top of it, waiting as her Clan gathered beneath her. Lightkit sat down, curling her tail neatly around her back paws. The rest of the Clan settled down, staring intently up to the leader.
"Duskmoon received a vision last night," the tortoiseshell she-cat yowled "We are both concerned with what it might mean. We will wait to see if we should tell the other Clans."
"What did it say?" Lizardfang asked.
"Duskmoon, will you care to share your vision with the Clan?" Sparkstar asked, her green gaze shifting to the light brown medicine cat.
"Yes, of course, Sparkstar." she replied, then turned to face the Clan. "The prophecy says 'the moon will shine bright and the fire will rage. The sun will rise to swamp the sky, while the stars slowly blink away.' I think it means that the stars will die, and that StarClan won't be able to watch over us anymore."
Shocked gasps filled the air as the Clan realised what that would mean for them. Some cat yowled a long, wordless yowl, silencing the rest of the camp. This was the end for the Clans.
This just got really ominous!
I've decided to put as little notes as possible unless I have announcements for anything on Wattpad. All my other notes are on my account on fanfiction.net.
If you have any questions feel free to ask.
