S Y N O P S I S

　　THE HIGH EVOLUTIONARY SOUGHT TO CREATE A PERFECT WORLD WITH THE PERFECT SPECIES. In doing so, he enslaved pregnant women and children from all across the galaxy and would experiment on them. Subject 78N14 had known what was pain ever since she was a fetus in her mother's womb. From the day she was born, she had been poked and prodded, torn apart and put back together again. She grew up never knowing what love was like, and only ever knowing the inside of her cage, never able to discover the world beyond. That is, until she met him.

　　Subject 89P13 was unlike anyone else she had ever met before. Although they weren't part of the same batch of experiments, she had never felt more connected to anyone but him in her entire existence. Rocket was her best friend in the entire world, the one who gave her hope for a better future. He even helped her pick out her own name. Moonie. For she had spent hours upon hours staring up at the moon from the inside of her cage, dreaming of being able to reach out and touch it with her hand one day.

　　But one day, everything changed.

　　Moonie and Rocket had realized the truth of their existence. They were nothing but mistakes that would never get the chance to live on the new world that the High Evolutionary was creating. They had been made for nothing but pain, and would soon be killed, their bodies used as spare parts for other projects and kept as data. It was then that the two best friends knew they had to leave, for if they stayed, they would never get the chance to see the world beyond their cages, and their dreams would die with them.

　　Though they had escaped the High Evolutionary, they had lost so much in the process. But they never looked back, and they kept running as far away from the High Evolutionary as they could. For years, they would look over their shoulders, fearing the High Evolutionary would find them and put them back in their cages. But that day never came. Instead, Moonie and Rocket met a friend named Groot and they went on amazing adventures together all across the galaxy.

　　One day, when they are out hunting for bounties on the planet of Xander, they find themselves way over their heads when they realize that their mark, Peter Quill, is in possession of something called an Infinity Stone. And somewhere along the way, Moonie just couldn't help but fool around and fall in love with the Legendary Star-Lord.

A U T H O R　N O T E
So, after watching Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, I decided to revamp my old fanfic, Shadowcat, into a Peter Quill fanfic. Although the main character will no longer be Kitty Pryde from the Guardians of the Galaxy comics, she will, however, reamin an experiment of the High Evolutionary and best friend of Rocket through their shared pasts.

Also, my character Mallory Quill, who was Peter's sister and Kitty Pryde's love interest in Shadowcat, still exists as well, though she has now been made the love interest of Gamora in my fanfic, Spirit in the Sky. Anyways, I hope you all enjoy this new and improved version! I'm honestly so excited for you all to learn more about Moonie and her past with Rocket and the High Evolutionary, as well as what that will mean for her in the third movie.
