🌙37| Torment
I am excruciatingly very sad to announce the fact that Moonlovers is finally about to end. I wish to thank each and everyone who kept up with me as I released each chapter ☺️ Let me not bore you with my long speech...
🌟🌟
Running, my hair dangled over my back as I threw my eyes around critically. When I turned to the main streets, the honking of cars from a huge traffic made my eyes widen. "Where's Allan?" She turned to a bed. But when I moved forward, my feet stumbled back. I regretted asking him the moment after. He was not only beaten up by Max, but he had hit his head quite hard to need bandages.
"He tried to stop Max, and this is how he ended up."
As I run my hands in my hair in despair, I looked a far and realized that the traffic goes way beyond the main streets. Cars had crashed against each other while a few still stood in the traffic waiting for the green light. Several passengers stepped out of their car and honked loudly for the cars in their way to move.
"Move your car!" This repeated sentence was all I could hear apart from the honking. "Max, where are you?" Asking myself this question, the traffic light turned on green, but the cars were too compacted and crushed to move. Traffic conductors rushed over from their cars and stopped at the streets to conduct the cars.
But it was still difficult to pull through. When the car in front tried to move, another car beside it also moved a crashed car in front of it to drive. But by doing so, the crushed car moved uncontrollably hitting the first moving car. A thick smoke emitted from the engine after crashing together.
"Stay in your positions! I repeat stay put drivers!" Holding a phone, one of them called for assistance with the traffic overlooker. Frustrated, I crossed in between the cars which honked at my irresponsible crossing as they moved forward.
"Hey!" a man in his car yelled when I intersected his driving way. "Are you crazy!" another woman screamed pressing on the honk to stop me. But I pushed my body in between the parked cars and crossed the road to the other side.
As I run along the streets, I found a busy city. Everywhere was packed with people. I saw a few rushing back from the other street screaming. "Run!" I heard when I glared at them in confusion.
I pushed my body in the crowd looking for him. "Max!" Covering my mouth before repeating his name was to make it travel farther. But I didn't get any response. Turning around in circles, I began to feel dizzy from looking at the faces of everyone around me. My eyes soared when I saw someone familiar. Smiling, I rushed over and pushed him by his shoulder.
But when he turned to face me, my eyes wavered. It wasn't him. "What's with you!" I lowered my head with an apologetic expression before taking steps back. Max, where are you? As I went around in circles, my eyes fell in the street screen board.
"Citizens. There's currently a vampire running wild on the streets. Please stay in doors and don't come out for your own safety. Please vacate the streets now!" the broadcaster announced. Tuning to a video, I blinked my eyes in surprise. I saw Max, but he looked totally not like the Max I knew.
Walking haphazardly in the streets, his dangerously lit eyes hid under the hoodie he wore. But it wasn't difficult to see his clenched teeth from his sideway on the screen. Shaking my head, I recognized the street. "Payprus? Max." He stopped for a moment when he saw a man looking at him in fear.
Twisting his head slightly, he grabbed the man by his throat and clenched out his teeth ready to feed on him. My eyes widened as I took to my heels, running in the streets as the cars drove in between my running. He turned slowly when he felt the scent of another vampire behind him.
"P-Please spare me," the man sobbed putting his hands together. Those around him started running and screaming. As his eyes met Ian's, Ian smiled at him.
"I guess you still come back to me after leaving. I can't believe you're a complete vampire like me." The look on his face wasn't like that of Ian's. Even though he didn't seem to be a threat in his eyes, vampires never really clicked with each other, especially being in the same zone.
Darting to his back, he attempted to thrust his hand through his heart, but he moved back before he could get the chance. "Argh!"Max screamed attacked Ian with all what was bottled up in him. Ian sighed and dashed away, running towards the empty street.
"Let's fight then. Clara will be here for you soon, with the spell books to save you. Things turned out better than I expected!" Smiling, he turned around while Max darted after him with full force.
I glanced everywhere desperately checking every nook of the street. I stopped resting my hands on my knees in thoughts, "Where are you?" Holding in my tears, I took in deep breaths before continuing my search in the city.
I took a deep breath to regain some energy to keep up. As I tied up my loose hair into a bun, I resumed running the moment after. It didn't take me much effort to trace him when I got to that street.
But when I got there, I suddenly heard screams and clashes from supernatural acts. No! Did Ian find him already? I need to save him with the spell books. It won't end well if he finds it with me. What should I do? I think I found him... Sighing, I looked around scanning the whole area.
My eyes blinked once, twice and then multiple times when my eyes set on Ian from a few metres around the empty burnt train station.
He threw his hand violently at Max, and Max grabbed his hand fiercely, smiling wickedly at him. He gave out a smirk, curving his hand away from him.
"Is that all you got? I might end up killing you before she gets here!"
he mocked laughing at him. He yanked his hand, but Max grabbed his other hand swiftly, hitting him in the face.
Grabbing him by his neck and twitched his neck slowly, his eyes quietly lit dangerously. With a sharp push, Ian fell back, pouting blood. As he lifted his head, I could see his left hand trembling dangerously with extreme force. With a crooked smile, he twitched his neck and looked at him like he was going to undress an antelope.
Was it back? This is not good. The glare in his eyes has no compassion like they used to have. Was he completely drained of his human instincts?
"Max," I echoed running towards them. Immediately my reflection casted on his dangerously lit eyes, he went silent and immobile.
He moved back focusing on my movements as I rushed over to him. While Ian struggled to get up, a wicked smile gradually exposed at the corner of Max's mouth. He smirked drifting towards me with a sudden swiftness.
Ian looked puzzled staring at his movements. Instead of attacking him, he was moving to me. Smiling, he crossed his arms. When I got a feet closer to him, I tried to talk him out of his condition. But his next action shut me up. Max struck impactful with full force attacking me physically. He ogled at me furiously sparing no chance to push me against my chest.
Pouting blood, I slowly looked into his eyes were emotionless and full of hate, anxiety, anger, despise, pure frustration, tainted black in the soul and weak at heart.
"Max. It's me. Get back to your senses!"I yelped dodging his attempts to hit me, but it he couldn't recognize me at all. His senses were driven so far from humanity.
I tried to touch his hand but he pushed me away, throwing me off balance. I writhe in pain, clutching to the bare sand to get back on my feet. Tears rolled from my eyes when I felt a sharp pain at my back.
He twirled to me grabbing me by my neck. "What are you waiting for? Kill her already!" Ian yelled smiling at him.
People were screaming searching for shelter due to the thunderstorm approaching. He gave me a death glare smiling wickedly. I sulked, stammering, "Please. C-Come back. This is not you."
He grabbed hold of me tighter, with his eyes emitting pure hate. Grasping and squeezing my neck tighter at each attempt I made to talk, I felt totally out of breath. I tried to fend off of the little air in my throat while moaning in pain.
With a tear gliding down my cheek, he squeezed my neck much more tightly to rip the life out of me. When I thought I couldn't breathe anymore, I raised my hand slowly trying to touch his face. But as I did that, the snow globe fell out.
As it rolled, a bright light emitting from the snow globe drew his attention automatically.
He dropped me on the floor before walking to the snow globe. My body fell on the floor as he move forward to pick it up from the floor shaking it playfully with joy in his hands.
"Max! What are you waiting for? Just finish her already!" Ian criticized, rolling his eyes. I darted to his side in struggles, hugging him from behind. "Please," I cried. He blinked his eyes and gave up into my arms after a few minutes.
His eyes returned back to normal and his arms dropped as people continuously screamed panicking.
"What drama is this nephew? If you won't kill her, then I will!" Ian demanded with a wicked smile drawn on his face. He raised his hand at me about to hit me on the floor when I saw a hand in front of me grab his hand fiercely.
"Don't you dare touch her as long as I'm alive and don't call me nephew because I'm not related to you!" Max yelled yanking away his hand.
Ian scoffed and walked around us for several minutes. He tapped his chin playfully beaming with a chuckle. "Your parents especially my brother were at fault. They didn't want to give you to me. So simple I killed him and your mom. Whether he's my brother or not, he had to pay! Oh...didn't he tell you I'm your uncle? How did I know about their farmhouse and how to get in?" Ian mocked squabbling his lungs out.
I turned to Ian curiously wondering if he was telling the truth.
"You're lying!" Max screamed before looking at him furiously clenching his fists. Ian laughed and tapped his shoulders.
"It's the truth. I visited you once. That day remember when someone was at the door and you asked your father who it was...oh what did he say?" he added tapping his chin with his middle finger.
"Yes! He said it was no one. I'm sure you remember that day. And when you were playing football with your friends and went unconscious. I made someone drop sleeping tablets in your milk. I took you...but your father found me and took you away before you woke up."
"Just shut up!" Max screamed, about to hit him, but Ian stopped him laughing,
"So I had to kill them. You should have seen his face when he breath his last with your mom in the car," Ian commented. Max grabbed his neck and put him in the air shaking from all the bottled hate he had for his uncle.
"Put me down. You won't last long without feeding from now. I can help you and you must come with me. But she needs to surrender the spell book first," Ian alluded pushing him away.
He twisted his head and sighed. "It's still not over yet. You can still come with me. Let's destroy the world together," Ian muttered turning around happily.
Max clenched his fists fuming with anger. He raised his head abruptly. "Are you with me? Have you two decided? He'll die soon!"
He stepped back folding his lips. "Well I know I killed your parents but I had no choice. You can get back at the world for taking them from you. What do you think? That they'll praise you if you kill me? You're a vampire too! They won't let you live.
You still have such impeccable skills. Work with me instead. I can forgo killing her if you come with me. Why do you waste time trying to satisfy a girl who doesn't ever trust your words?"
I looked at Max shaking my head. Without thinking, he nodded extending his hand to my utmost shock. "Max? No!"
