Chapter 1
I don't know where I come from. I remember falling and a voice telling me "it's Autumn" so I called myself Autumn since then. I don't know who I am. For as long as I remember I talk to someone who only I can see. The Moon Goddess. And she tells me I'm her daughter.
My life has always been quite lonely. Also, for a a confused girl, quite scary.
I shifted when I was 5 which was unusual of course. I couldn't hardly remember it but I felt no pain. It was hard growing up with no home, but I learned to like it. My mom, The Moon Goddess, provided bread, fruit and tea. If I wanted meat I would have to hunt for it. I learned to start fires to cook my meat. Im 17 now.
My mom always tells me I have a destiny. That I'm going to have to save 'them' . Protect them. She tells me that everything will be fine. She tells me I'm second to her.
Over the years I came to realize I have unusual powers. I can bring back the dead with the help of my mother. That's the only thing that requires her help. I can move things without touching them. I can see things without actually seeing them. And sometimes I can hear things I wish I couldn't.
I heard the snap of a twig and I was walking through the woods.
"Hello?" I speak.
There could hear people breathing. I could feel there were about 10 people surrounding me without even looking up.
"Don't be stupid boys." I smirked.
"You're a rouge" someone says.
Then I smell something so heavenly.
"That's not a very nice way to put it, I prefer-"
"Mine." someone growls out.
That caught my attention. Standing up I turn around to see a beautiful face.
"Let's get her to the pack house. Go ahead of me." He says and they obey. He grins at me. "I'm Logan, your mate."
"Hi Logan, I'm not interested." I say and sit back down.
"What are you doing?" Logan asks.
"Sitting." I reply quickly.
"No, I'm gonna get you home."
"This is home. You may leave."
He growls. "Your my mate. I won't leave you, your coming with me."
"I'm not. I wouldn't just go with you. I'm staying with my mom."
"Your mom can come too."
"You can't see her." I say.
"What? Are you on drugs."
"You may leave." I say again rolling my eyes.
"Please come with me." he begs.
Something about him made it so hard to say no to him. "You know you're really pretty." I say.
"I-um do I-well." Logan stumbles.
I think about going with him for awhile. I'm been in this woods 17 years. Doesn't look like the destiny is coming to me. Maybe I have to go to it. He looks harmless enough. I could always choke him to death.
"Let's go." I say.
"Your talking to an alpha." He states.
"Oou scary," I chuckle.
"Even if you're my mate I could break you in two seconds Autumn."
"Then what are yo waiting for?"
"You know you wandered into my territory."
"Wouldn't be the first time. I like to wander places I don't belong." I smirked.
"That could get you hurt one day."
"I doubt it," I said with a goofy grin on my face. I don't normally talk to people, nor do I ever smile this much when I do. "So what pack are you?" I questioned wanting to get to know my so called 'mate'.
"Black Shadow." He spit. Almost as if he were angry. I could feel memories from him trying to come in so I could see them. I hated this power of mine. A lot of people have dark, dark things in their head. And this power of mine allowed me to see people darkest desires. The darkest things they've done. It allows me to see only the bad in peoples head, never any good. It's why I hated being around people. I still was able to control this power. They would come flooding in my head making me have nightmares at night. I hated it. I tried my hardest to block out whatever Logan was thinking about and luckily I was successful.
"Daddy issues?" I joked.
"Shutup," he gritted.
"Someone doesn't have a sense of humor." I said in a sing song voice. And as soon as the words came out of my mouth I was pushed against a tree.
"I said shutup," he growled, "You don't know me."
I furrowed my eyebrows as I looked him up and down. Sizing him up. I raised my hand, connecting the base of my hand to his nose. As he stumbled backwards I moved quickly moving one arm around his neck and the other holding his arm behind his back. I got close to his ear," I obviously you don't know me. Don't test me." I said coolly. The words dripping from my mouth like venom. I released him and began walking towards the pack house I could see faintly. After a couple minutes I could hear him trailing behind me silently.
This was going to be one hell of an unpleasant adventure.
