Chapter Two
Today all the higher ranking and important wolves would be arriving for tomorrow's wedding. The Alphas, the Lunas, and Betas from neighboring packs and from across the world had been invited.
Unfortunately I had been assigned to serve drinks to the guest as the arrived at the welcoming reception before the wedding.
I knew it would be a long day of preparing for the guest and the wedding, and I needed coffee.
As I made my way to the kitchen I immediately picked up Jackson's scent. He always smelled of pine trees and syrup.
When I entered the kitchen he was leaned up against the counter deep in thought. Something seemed off about him.
He was usually sporting his toothy grin, but not today. He seemed sullen.
"Is there any coffee left Jackie?", I playfully asked hoping to get his mind off of whatever was bothering him.
"Nope, just this one cup", he said as he slide it over the counter in my direction.
"Thanks, you're a life saver" I chirped as I took a sip.
"What's up with you today? You seem weird, and not normal Jackson weird" I asked with a small laugh.
He looked at me. Not saying anything.
"What?" I asked raising my eyebrows.
"Do you ever think about your mate?" he asked.
"Not really. I figure if I even have one the chances of meeting him are slim to none considering I'll never be allowed to leave pack lands, so I just try to forget about the idea all together. Why? Do you?"
"My dad is insisting I leave after the wedding to try and find my mate. I don't want a mate that's already picked for me by the Moon Goddess. I want to pick the one Im going to spend my life with" he said with a pout.
He was cute when he pouted.
"Don't be ridiculous. You're mate is out there, and you have the opportunity to find them. Whoever your mate is, she will be perfect for you." I soothed.
"Maybe", he said in a low voice, still pouting.
I walked around the counter and threw my arms around him. "Don't be so glum sugar plum. Now I got to go. Omega duties await" I said with a giggle.
I pulled out of the hug. Jackson grabbed me roughly around my hips and pulled me back into him almost possesively. My eyes widen with surprise.
"Meet me tonight at the end of the pier." he said.
"O...kay" I said slowly exaggerating each syllable as I rolled my eyes.
"Jeesh, what's crawled up his butt?" I wondered to myself.
Then he turned around and walked off without any explanation for being a complete weirdo.

A/N : This should've been two separate chapters. I realized how ridiculously long and drawn out it was when I went back to edit. Sorry! 😆
After a long day of preparing the rooms for the wedding guest, I was finally done. I was exhausted and in desperate need of a shower and my bed, but I was curious to see what was going on with Jackson.
When I finally made my way to the pier I saw Jackson standing at the end looking out over the ocean. He seemed so deep in thought.
He didn't even notice that I was there which was odd considering he was a damn werewolf with great hearing and a fantastic sense of smell.
I walked up behind him and tapped him on the shoulder. Then without warning he turned around as a loud threatening growl left his chest. His eyes weren't their beautiful honey color, instead they held a golden glow.
A second to late I realized his wolf was at the front. There was no trace of Jackson left.
I let out a scream and backed away as fast as I could, but I stumbled and fell backwards. Before I could get myself back to my feet Jackson was on top of me pinning me to the ground.
Hey Yall 👋!
What the hell is Jackson's problem? Why did he ask Grey to meet him?
Thank you for reading this far. I appreciate it. Please comment and let me know if it's good, ok, or trash. I need you to critique the story, that's the only way I can become a better writer. ❤️
