chapter three

Train wreck
•TW; this chapter doesn't go into full depth about sensitive topics but it does allude to them•

ABOUT TWO DAYS LATER, VICKI WOKE UP IN one of her moods again. She didn't want to leave bed, talk to anyone, she didn't even want to move. Parts of her felt like calling Alexei but, she knew she couldn't, not after what he said. So, she sat there looking at the crumpled up piece of paper with his number on it, not talking to anyone, not doing anything.

Alex was not the reason for Victoria's current mental state, ever since Monica left it happened to her left and right. She could be at her happiest and then all the sudden hate everything about her life or want to scream until she couldn't anymore. It was just normal for the Gallaghers, that doesn't mean they weren't worried about Vic.

Suddenly, Debbie came upstairs and started to shake her. "Come on,Vic. You are going to miss family time. I know how much you love burgers so Ian and Steve got some!"

"Please go away, Debs."Victoria begged, practically mumbling. She didn't want to be mean to her adorable sister, the opposite actually. She wanted to hug Debbie, her body just wouldn't let her.

"I put extra cheese on it." the young Gallagher said, trying to persuade her sister.

"Extra cheese?" Vicki questioned, a slight smile tugging at her lips. She was still upset but, eating did help sometimes.

"I put on three slices, just for you." Debbie took the blankets off of Vic's body. "There is even bacon."

"You are an amazing little sister." Victoria laughed slightly as Debs tugged at her arm.

"We are going to miss it!" the young girl yelled, running out of the room.

Vickie still wasn't in the mood to move but, she was aware that nobody would bring her food if she didn't, and she was starving.

She made her way downstairs to see everyone waiting patiently for her, scattered around the living room.

"Do you ever wear pants?" Lip questioned, his arm around Karen, someone Vick practically despised.

"No." Victoria sat on the floor in front of the couch and watched the tv blankly while Debbie got her burger.

"Shhh." Fiona shushed them as she stared at the screen, extremely happy about the scenes unfolding in front of them. Which only consisted of a fishing boat and some scrappy looking old men.

After getting their food, the Gallagher's sat in a happy and peaceful silence as they watched the tv, they had all been getting closer lately and it was evident. It almost made Vic feel happy again, that was until Frank busted through the door.

"You ok Frank?" Steve asked. The eldest Gallagher had bloody nose and scowl on his face. He ignored the whole family and started walking to the kitchen.

"Hey, is that my shirt?" Ian questioned, it was a good question but it probably wasn't asked at the right time.

"Yeah." Frank answered, he then started walking towards Ian and Vicki got up to her feet.

"I-..i'm just asking." Ian defended, it seemed like he realized he shouldn't have asked when Frank head butted him, hard.

"You piece of shit!" Victoria yelled at her father, she definitely hated him, him and Monica single handily ruined their seven children's lives without even realizing it.

"Guy at the bar said pass it on." Frank yelled, poor Ian gripping his nose, trying to stop blood from coming out.

"What the fuck is wrong with you, Frank?" Steve asked angrily.

Vicki had had enough that day, her emotions were already on overload and this made it all worse. So, she did what anyone in her situation would, or so she thought because most people wouldn't do this. The Gallagher took her hand, tightened it into a fist, and punched Frank straight in the nose. It was enough to knock him back a bit but, he bounced back quickly and pushed her to the ground.

"You're drunk Frank! Don't do this to your kids!" Steve yelled, he seemed to be the only one defending Ian and Vicki, Fiona just kept telling him over and over to stop.

A pool of tears filled the young girls eyes as she watched Frank get what he wanted with no consequences, like always. This time, she was going to do what she did best, run.

After putting on pants, of course.

VICK HOPED DESPERATELY THAT DARIO WOULD be home when she went there but, he wasn't there, or at his usual corner. After not being able to find him, she fell to her knees and let it all out. There was nothing else for her to do in that moment, not anything that came to mind.

"Vick?" Alexei furrowed his brows at the Gallagher girl who was just sitting on the corner of the street balling her eyes out, like a crazy person.

"Go away." Vicki glared, he was the the last person she wanted to see, besides Frank of course.

"What the hell happened to you? Do you need me to get the boys? You know they'll do anything for a figh-"

"I said go away you asshole! I obviously don't want to be around you. What do you not understand about that!?" she yelled, all her anger being directed at Alexei.

"Are you sure your okay?" Alex questioned with his hands in his pockets. "It's cold out and you don't even have a jacket on."

"What are you my mother? Oh right, my mom left me." This was the point where Victoria Gallagher felt like she was going insane, she got up to her feet and started to laugh catching Alexei off guard.

She knew in her mind how weird she probably appeared to any passerby but, she didn't care, she couldn't care.

"Maybe you should go home." The Milkovich boy said worriedly.

"Oh my god, i'm going, i'm going." the Gallagher girl put up her middle finger and walked away from Alex, having no idea where she was going.

Vicki ended up at the Alibi room, she came sometimes and Kevin who was kind of like a cool uncle to her would sneak her some alcohol.

"What's up kid, you look like shit." Kevin commented as she settled into a seat in the bar, she hoped Frank wouldn't make an appearance.

"Gee, thanks, Kev."she looked around the bar and pointed at a drink, she didn't know what it was but she wanted it. "Give me one."

"Wow, Fiona raised you real polite." Kevin joked but, Vicki who wasn't in the joking mood stared blankly at him. "Okay, looks like you need it."

He poured her a cup of beer and slid it over to her. "If someone asks you're 22."

"I'll tell em i'm 24 if it gets me more drinks." Vicki said emotionless as she basically chugged her beer.

She really needed them.

ABOUT FIVE SHOTS AND TWO BEERS LATER, Vicki was drunk. Way too drunk for Kev's liking at least. The guys at the bar were angry she kept beating them at pool and she was shit talking them way too much plus, Kevin cared about her and wanted her to be safe.

"Hey, Vick i'm going to call Fiona to see if she'll come get you." Kev spoke as she came back for another shot.

"No, you can't call her, I don't want to talk to her." Vicki waved her finger. "That won't do."

"Why do you suddenly have a British accent?" the older man questioned, his brow slightly raised.

"Maybe i'm British." Vic shrugged her shoulders. "I am queen Victoria, after all."

"Okay, Fiona it is." Kev nodded his head and reached behind him for the phone.

"No, I-... let me call someone else." Vicki quickly snapped out of her joking mood and reached over the counter for the phone.

She had no idea who she was going to call.

"You don't have friends." Kevin said suspiciously, knowing she kept to herself, or her family for the most part.. after Camila.

"Who am I, Frank? Give me the phone party popper." Vic glared at him, angry that he was stopping her from drinking, but, knowing she'd probably thank him later.

Kevin handed her the phone and Victoria leaned her head on the table as she dialed a random number, like it was instinct.

"Who the fuck is this? It's like one in the morning you piece of sh-"

"Someone is in a bad mood." Vicki giggled as she twisted her hair like a school girl. "You are hot when you are angry."

"Vick? Why do you sound drunk?" Alex questioned over the phone.

"...because I am, silly." Vicki frowned. "I know that i'm just like some random girl you slept with but could you get me from the alibi room."

"You aren't a r-.. alright, i'll be there soon." Alexei let out a sigh.

"Thank you." Victoria looked up at Kevin who was waiting for her to be finished with the phone call. "Kev is being an asshole and not letting me drink."

"Something tells me you don't need a drink, i'll be there in five minutes and you better not fucking move, Gallagher." Alex warned.

"You better not fucking move, Gallagher."Vicki mocked, rolling her eyes heavily.

Alexei hung up on her and she handed Kevin the phone back.

"Someone's coming to get you?" he asked.

"Yes,thank you very much." Victoria smiled. "Can I have a cigarette, please."

"Seriously?" Kev furrowed his brows at the Gallagher girl.

"Yes, I want one and I promise I won't leave without telling you." Vick saluted. "Scout's honor."

"Don't get into trouble please, I don't need Fiona killing me for what you are doing." Kevin handed her a cigarette and Vicki happily walked out of the bar.

Not a care in the world, for now.

THE COOL BREEZE FELY NICE ON VICKIS skin that was burning up. As she flicked the cigarette in her hand she closed her eyes and breathed it in. Sure, it wasn't fresh air but it was her air, Chicago air, and she wouldn't trade it for the world.

"Finally, you're here." she smiled as she felt a pair of arms wrap around her waist.

But, the man holding her was not who she was hoping for. He was in his late 30s or 40s with dirty and greasy blonde hair, dirt all over his skin. Vicki gasped as she opened her eyes and came face to face with the predator.

"Who are you!? Get off of me." the Gallagher girl tried her best to push him off but, to no avail. Her drunk state was a weakened state and she couldn't break free from his arms.

"You are so beautiful, I had to come and get you." the man said in a scary and menacing voice.

"Please get off of me." Vick begged as he ran his hands up and down her body.

"Stop whining, make this better for yourself, little girl." he said as he unbuttoned her pants, Vicki feeling completely and utterly nauseous.

"Help!" she screamed loudly, loud enough for half the bar to come out and see what was going on.

More importantly, loud enough for Alexei to hear as he walked down the street. The Milkovich boy sprinted towards the direction of the Alibi Room and when he seen a man holding Vicki he went towards them. The blonde man quickly let go as he seen people come out of the bar and he tried to run but, he ran right into Alexei's chest.

Without saying a word, the Milkovich boy who was filled with rage punched the man straight in the face. Vicki slid to the ground and placed her hands on her face as she began to cry, why me she wondered.

"Vick, it's going to be alright, okay?"Kev hugged her as he watched Alex beat the blonde man to a pulp. "Is he the one you called?"

Victoria looked up from her hands and nodded.

"You are going to have to get out of here before the cops come." Kevin warned. "I'll get him off the guy but you have to convince him to stay off."

"O-..okay." Vicki agreed, her voice shaking and hands trembling at both the thought of the blonde mans hands on her and the sight of the blood now dripping from his face.

It took a few seconds but, Kevin finally got Alexei off of the man and held him back.

"Alex, we have to go, you are going to get arrested. "Victoria warned, she honestly had no strength left in her to be doing this but she didn't want him to go to jail because of her.

"You think I give a fuck? It's happened before!" he yelled angrily, never taking his eyes off the blonde man.

"Please, I just need to sleep, can you bring me to sleep?" Vicki begged, she didn't want to go home and she remembered he liked to sleep on her chest.

Her hands placed themselves gently on his face, making him look straight into her eyes.

Alexei's face softened as he noticed the tears pouring down Victoria's face and he calmed down slightly.

"I better never see his face again." Alex said to Kevin who nodded his head. "Come on, Vic. I'll take you home."

"Can I stay with you?" she questioned. "I know your cousins don't like me b-"

"I don't give a fuck who they like, let's go." he knew that Vicki was too distraught and drunk to walk so, he picked her up and carried her all the way to his house.

After awhile, the two teens got inside and walked to Alexei's room.

"This is the worst question I could ask." Alex said as he set Victoria down onto his bed."... are you okay?"

Vicki didn't answer, she simply started to cry and hugged his waist tightly. Alex was caught off guard but, he let out a sigh and returned the hug. He felt awful he couldn't get there earlier to save her from whatever happened, he wanted to do more.

... because he was never able to do more for his mother.
