Chapter 93

You finally broke the kiss and took a look at the ring. It was simple and perfect and absolutely beautiful. "I love you," you told him brightly before you leaned in to kiss him again.

"I love you," Loki replied before his words were cut off by kisses. He was ecstatic that you'd said yes. You didn't know how long you stood on the roof kissing your fiancé, nor did you care as your fingers ran through his hair and he purred for you.

Eventually, though, the kisses had to stop for you both to breathe. Stupid breathing getting in the way of kisses.

Loki pulled you closer and pressed a kiss to your hair. You could feel how relaxed he was, at peace, at ease with you. You curled yourself more comfortably into his arms and laid your head on his shoulder. Something came to your mind and you giggled. "How soon before our friends are up here congratulating us and demanding to see the ring?" You asked with mirth, sure they would be up soon to bother you.

"Probably not long. Bucky and Lady Natasha helped me plan this and my brother helped with the weather," it was unseasonably temperate for that time of year and no sign of a single cloud in the sky. "You know my brother isn't the best at keeping secrets," he chuckled. Thor was an oaf. You both loved him dearly, but he wasn't the brightest and was loud and seemingly incapable of keeping secrets.

"And you proposed on tower property. Jarvis would have told them by now," you reminded him. Jarvis was everywhere except the bedrooms. You were sure there were cameras up on the roof, so he likely recorded the proposal and sent it to YouTube by now. He really liked accumulating hits on YouTube by posting videos of the Avengers.

"True," Loki agreed with a sigh. He hugged you tighter to him and let out a sigh, ignoring the rest of the world just to relax with you in his arms. You were both taking the moment of peace before having to worry about being bombarded by the team.

You leaned up to kiss his cheek and summoned a blanket to wrap around yourself, shivering a little in the chill air. Loki didn't comment, just made sure the blanket was tucked around you. He was always so doting and loving with you and it warmed your heart every time.

Eventually, Bucky made his way onto the roof and came over to you. "Congratulations!" He told you brightly, more openly happy than you'd seen him in awhile. His grin turned to a smirk. "The others are demanding you come downstairs so we can celebrate. They've already got drinks out," there was no question that you and Loki were coming with him. That also explained why you hadn't been bombarded by the team. They'd been preparing a celebration and sent a representative to fetch you.

Loki sighed in exasperation and pulled you closer. "Thanks for ruining the moment, Cyborg," he grumbled. He pressed another kiss to your hair before he stood elegantly. He helped you to your feet.

"You had a choice of me or Stark," Bucky replied with a smirk. "I was nice enough to buy you some time." Stark would have just barged up to interrupt you and Loki enjoying your kisses and your engagement.

"Much appreciated." Loki pressed a kiss to your cheek. "Shall we, love?" He asked gently.

"If we must," you replied and kissed his cheek in return. Bucky made a face at how cute you were being with Loki. You wrapped an arm around Loki's waist to walk with him and Bucky to the elevator and head down to the common room to see your friends.

As soon as you stepped out of the elevator, you were immediately greeted to cheers from the rest of the team. Their shouts and congratulations made you blush and hide against Loki's side shyly.

Thor came over and passed you both a mug of Asgardian mead so you could join in the festivities. Loki wrapped an arm around your shoulders and gave Thor a smile when he accepted the mead. Thor clapped Loki's shoulder 'Congratulations, brother!" He boomed. Then added more softly: "It was about damn time," he teased his brother mercilessly. Thor kissed your cheek. "Mother's ring suits you well," he told you warmly. Of course, he recognized the ring. It had been his mother's after all.

"Thank you, brother," Loki replied, not at all surprised that Thor knew about the ring.

"Mother warned me that Father had given it to you," Thor gave an explanation anyway, even though it hadn't been asked for. Frigga hadn't wanted Thor to feel slighted since he was getting her ring to propose with.

The rest of the team started to come over, offering congratulations and demanding to see the ring.

"Seems a bit plain for you, drama queen," Stark teased Loki lightly. Not everyone knew the ring was a hand-me-down, it seemed, and the ring did look very simple.

Loki glared at Stark "It was my mother's engagement ring," he told the billionaire defensively. You all knew that he could've bought you the biggest, most expensive, ring in the universe, but that wouldn't have suited you. Frigga's simple ring did.

"And it's perfect," you added happily.

Stark smiled at that and ruffled your hair. "Of course it's perfect for you. A stupidly fancy ring wouldn't have fit you at all. And one that has sentiment behind it is even better," he smirked at Loki. "This may be the only time you ever hear this coming from me, but good job..."

Loki looked shocked at the fact that stark actually said something nice and not sarcastic, but covered it up with a smirk "Thank you, Stark."

Stark raised his drink in a salute before Nat stepped forward for well-wishing. She hugged you tightly. "Congratulations, sestrichka!" She told you brightly. She gave Loki a smiled. "And you too, ved'ma," she added, having to give up her usual address of 'boyfriend' since it no longer fit. Instead, she was calling him a witch.

Loki smiled, accepting the nickname. "Thank you, Lady Natasha," he said with a nod of the head.

Nat got you away from Loki to show off the ring. Bucky moved closer to Loki. "I've never seen her so happy," Bucky told Loki softly. He was now holding a beer. "She deserves as much happiness as possible."

"Thank you for your help, Cyborg," Loki replied. He got a little more seriously. "My brother is my best man, of course, but would you consider being one of my groomsmen? I'm sure kitten will ask something similar of Lady Natasha," Loki hesitated about asking, old fear of rejection running rampant in his mind, but he trusted Bucky.

Bucky gave Loki a grin. "Of course I'll be a groomsman. That would even out the numbers too, assuming Pisoi is going to choose Natal'ka and her little sister,"

Loki placed a hand on Bucky's shoulder, initiating physical contact for once. "Thank you," he told his friend kindly.

Bucky claps his shoulder in return. "That's what friends are for, ved'ma,"
