Chapter 92
You finally finished with your stupid meeting, having successfully surprised the shit out the Japanese business men, who'd had to be polite to you after they found out that you understood their language. You drove home after the meeting. You still tended to not relying on your magic, plus Loki still hadn't gotten around to teaching you how to teleport. He kept insisting you were ready yet.
You looked for him in the common room. That's where the team usually gathered when they weren't on missions. You frowned when you didn't see him, though couldn't help smirking at the sight of Nat and Bucky making out on the couch. Since Loki wasn't there, you headed up to your room to get ready for date. You found the green dress that Loki had left out for you. You dressed quickly and redid your hair and make-up for the evening.
There was a knock on your door moments after you were dressed and ready. You opened it to find Loki dressed in the black suit of sexiness. He looked hot as hell. As always in the black suit of sexiness. It had that name for a reason.
You gave him your usual bright bubbly smile, though there was awe in your eyes at how hot he was in that suit. "Hey, Lokes," you greeted him brightly.
Loki's smile was loving and awed in return. "Hello, love. You look amazing," he purred.
Your smile turned into a smirk. "You're just saying that because I'm wearing your colors," you teased as you stepped out of your room properly. "And you clean up nicely as per usual," which wasn't at all enough of a compliment for the black suit of sexiness, but you knew that Loki would understand.
Loki smirked. "You look lovely in anything you wear. The fact that you're wearing my colors is just an added bonus," he informed you as he bent to kiss your cheek. He held out his arm to you. "Shall we?"
You placed your hand on his arm and smirked up at him. "You're just glad to see me in a dress since most of the time I'm in jeans and grungy old work shirts," you replied and kissed his cheek before you headed over to the elevator. Loki pressed the button for the roof and you lit up in delight. "A rooftop date? We haven't done this in ages~"
Loki gave you a fond smile. "Do you like it?" He seemed nervous. Why was he nervous?
"Of course," you replied and hugged his arm.
The elevator let you out on the roof and Loki led you out to a small table and chairs. He pulled yours out to seat you before he took his own place across from you. He summoned a meal comprised entirely of all of your favorites, which made you light up in delight.
You couldn't help noticing how bright the moon was as you ate, and how gorgeous the stars. You knew your eyes were glowing. They had kept that vampire trait and you didn't bother with illusions except outside of the tower. You were safe here.
You looked to Loki again. "Gorgeous night tonight. I thought it was supposed to rain, though..." you commented, sure the weather had mentioned rain.
Loki chuckled. "Thor took care of that bit of nonsense," Loki replied. That was suspicious. Thor didn't usually play with the weather just because. "My brother decided to change the weather, just for us,"
"That was nice of him," maybe it had just been a favor for Loki for his date. Regardless, you enjoyed the meal that Loki had conjured and enjoyed chatting with him on the roof as you'd done on so many nights before this.
Once you'd finished eating, Loki used magic to change the table to a soft picnic blanket. You enjoyed stargazing together, curled in Loki's arms as you watched the stars and the gorgeous view. "I love you, kitten," he purred and you noticed he was watching you more than the stars.
"I love you too," you told him and kissed him softly.
Loki pulled back and pulled out a small box. Your eyes lit in understanding and realization of what he was up to. "Along with the boon you asked for, my father gave me this," Loki said as he shifted to one knee in front of you and opened the box, presenting the ring to you. "It is the same ring he used to propose to my mother. I always thought he would give it to Thor but he chose me, instead," you knew and understood how much that meant to him, especially for him to mention it now. "You, my love, have made my life worth living. You are the light of my life. I never thought I would find someone to love me like you do and I want to spend the rest of our lives showing you how much you mean to me. Would you make the happiest man alive and marry me?" He asked with hope and love in his eyes.
You were surprised and shocked, though were full of such delight and love. There was no way you were saying no. It took a moment to attach your brain back to your mouth in order to answer. "Yes! Of course yes!" You told him and kissed him. The kiss and answer were far more important to you than any ring. Loki returned the kiss well before he pulled back long enough to slide the simple, but elegant and beautiful, ring onto your finger before he pulled you into another heated kiss to celebrate.
