A tiny town of weaponry: Fairyfly

"This looks like the place," Diamondback said as a smallish town came into view. It was built into a wide valley, a river cornering one end, and steep rock walls covered with caves, another. As they got closer, Fairyfly could see the buildings were made of plain, grey rocks, all neatly packed together, with wooden support beams on their corners and wooden roofs.

"Don't worry about your... freak attributes," Diamondback paused, trying to find the words without offending them. "The SkyWings in this town have seen some stuff. What happens here stays here. They're all too busy mining to go tell anyone, anyways."

The dragons all gave them strange looks as they walked by. Fairy hadn't seen too many SkyWings in her days, the only one she knew by name was Aether, so she hadn't realized how different each member of one tribe could look. They ranged in colours from deep reds to light oranges. Some even had flecks of gold mixed in their scales. Some were mostly one flat colour, while others had patterns, circles, stripes, big random spots, freckles, and several more. Some were huge elders, while others were small dragonets or younger dragons. Some were cute, with more rounded features, and others were rough and pointy. A few wore at least one type of jewelry or accessory, earrings, bracelets, horn bands, necklaces, rings, bags, and even a few wearing pieces of armour. No two dragons looked the same. In fact, one of the only things they had in common was the fact they were all covered in dust and soot. A sigh this was definitely a mining town.

"Who are those guys? They look weird!" A dark red dragonet covered in rock dust asked who Fairy presumed was her mother. Wait, isn't that an Ice dragon?" She pointed to Mirror. "Are we UNDER ATTACK!"

Instantly, every weapon these dragons had been carrying on them was raised, and more dragons came flying over buildings and running through the streets to find the source of the problem.

"Wait, Diamondback? Is that you?" A yellowy orange SkyWing asked. She was quite large, probably in her thirties, Fairyfly noticed her dark grey back spikes were huge, much bigger then anyone else's, and her face had a line of lighter grey under her eye that started from her ear, which was the same colour. And her jagged horns were pitch black, as well as her nose spike and claws.

"Citrine! You're just the dragon I wanted to see! My group and I need armour, and-" Diamondback was cut off by her holding up her talon. The other SkyWings looked more relaxed, but were still brandishing their weapons.

"So, you came all this way just for weapons? Not to see me or have a romantic dinner date or anything? You didn't even say hello. I haven't seen you in about two months!" The SkyWing grumbled. "I've only had your messages to-"

"Okay, I'm sorry. I'll make this up to you. Just, please! The whole world is in danger, and I'm not joking around. Can we go somewhere more private? Please!" Diamondback cut her off, worry filling her voice.

"Ugh, how can I say no to that adorable face. Guys, chill out. They're with me," Citrine raised her huge wings at the crowd. Most went back to whatever they were doing before, while others stayed, weapons lowered, watching.

The dragonets were lead to a small house with a large yard. The yard was filled with all sorts of stone and metal things Fairyfly didn't quite know the uses of. A huge square of metal with a spike on the end, sitting on a built-in pedestaled intrigued her the most.

"You all stay out here. And don't touch any of my blacksmithing stuff. I need all of it!" The SkyWing said in a threatening tone before she and the sandy and black hybrid disappeared into the house.

Fairy looked around more. The whole area was covered by a cloth roof, with wooden beams at the end. Under it, "blacksmithing things" were scattered everywhere. Shelves of metal, a big table, a long tube filled with water, hammers, a furnace with a pipe leading out of a hole cut in the fabric, and much more. The ground, like the rest of the town, was light grey stone, but it felt almost... softer here.

"Hey, where's that MudWing we can't touch?" Vivid asked, Aether under his wing.

"Huh," the others asked, looking around. Terracotta was nowhere to be seen.

"Uh, about that..." Vine grinned nervously. "She ran off. She got mad I made that joke about her being a weapon, and she ran back to the Wing's base."

"WHAT!" Some yelled, but Fairy forced rage into her voice.

"YOU JUST LET ONE OF THE MOST DEADLY DRAGONS EVER JUST WALK AWAY! ARE YOU STUPID, OR AN IDIOT!" she yelled at him.

"Well, it's not like I could have stopped her," he shrugged. This made the fluffy HiveWing even more mad, but instead of yelling more, she stormed off behind the building to try and calm down. She could hear talking, but it was quiet and paused in between. Fairy tried to peek through the small window, but the curtains had been drawn. Finally, she heard the door open, and rushed back over. Diamondback seemed slightly less stressed as she stepped out of the house, her tail twined around the SkyWing's.

"I guess I should probably introduce you all," She said. "Citrine, this is the freak gang. Freak gang, this is my long distance girlfriend and leader of this town, Citrine."

"Nice to meet you all," the yellow-orange dragon grinned. "Now, I hear you all need weapons and armour. We don't have many of either with us right now, because of the war, but we can sure make some!"
