Blake POV
Jack and I walk into the club, and I wanted to puke. With my heightened senses, the smells and movement all clog my brain as I try to process everything.
"You okay kid?" Jack asks me as he throws his arm over my shoulder to keep me moving.
"Yeah, it's just a lot to process," I say as my eyes flash from one place to the next.
"I was like that too when I entered my first club too. How about we take a seat in the VIP section so that I can grab myself a drink, and you find our girl, okay?" Jack walks us over to the VIP section and we take an empty table.
"I'll be back, don't start any fights." I look up to Jack from my seated position and give him a smirk.
"I would never." Jack snorts.
"Yeah right, just stay in your seat until I get back, ya hear?" I nod my head, and Jack leaves to grab a cup of whiskey. I lean back in the booth and listen to pop music. I personally prefer alternative music, but I'll listen to anything.
With my wolf eyes, I can pick out every feature of every person and object in here. I search for a couple of minutes with no luck before two tall male humans walk past me and sit down at a table in the back corner of the VIP section with another man.
I change my gaze to look at the people in the VIP section, but nothing jumps out at me. No feeling of magic. Nothing is out of the ordinary. But then a wall of magic hits me like a truck.
I immediately look towards the door and there they are, just as the demon said.
The Demon Queen, the shortest of the three, is wearing a black two-piece dress that doesn't cover enough skin. The tallest of the three, the witch is wearing a red dress that accents her cleavage so much that it would make anyone go crazy.
My eyes quickly move to the young woman in the middle, who looks barely over 20. She has soft doe eyes, but are surprisingly a violent shade of blue. It's like something else is making them that way. Her light brown hair is thrown behind her shoulders, the waves have a mix of yellows and whites in them. The dress that she is wearing is the most conservative. The black material has a tint of blue in it as it hugs her curves. The strap hugging her left shoulder keeps the dress from slipping down to low. She only wears two pieces of jewelry, a silver ring with three sapphire pieces lies on her middle finger, and a crescent moon piece lays on a necklace that hugs her neck.
She is simply stunning.
I quickly look away from the group to calm my thoughts. The demon, the witch, and the Moon Dust carrier are here, I cannot take my eyes off of one of the three, and Jack still didn't come back from getting his drink.
"This is great, just great," I mumble under my breath as I look back to where the three were, but they're not there anymore.
I take a deep breath and lean back. I need to wait for Jack. Let's just locate everyone first so that Jack doesn't ask me why I lost everyone like I just did.
Looking to the bar, I see Jack talking with the bartender, a cup of whiskey in his hand. I roll my eyes. Of course, he would do this.
My eyes scan the dance floor, and I find the witch and the woman easily. They're dancing towards the far end of the floor. They are standing closer to the hallway that leads to the exit.
I scan the rest of this club locating the demon sitting at the bar, sipping a blood-red cocktail as she watches over the dance floor. I watch the woman dance and enjoy herself as I wait for Jack.
"If he doesn't show up in the next five minutes utes, I'm acting without him," I mumble under my breath. The five minutes never came.
I stand up from my seat and brush off my black polo shirt. Jack said that this matched the best with my dark blue Jean's.
I walk casually towards the exit hallway. I lean against the wall and go over the plan. Grab the Moon Dust carrier and try to get them to come with me
It seems simple enough.
But how do I get close to the girl?
Well, I think my only option is to try and blend in. Time to go dance.
I get off of the wall and walk towards the woman that I can keep my eyes off of. She is swaying her hips to the beat of the song as she shouts the lyrics to the witch.
I come up from behind her and tap my fingers on her shoulder. The little contact brought tingles from my hands to my chest, and I think she felt it too.
She immediately turned around and looked me up and down.
"Can I help you?" She asks over the music. Shit, what do I say? Luckily a slower song turns on and I smirk.
"May I have this dance?" I offer my hand, she looks at it, and then she looks over to the witch.
I look to the witch to see her dark green eyes widen as if something finally clicked. The witch quickly nods her head and gestures with her hand for us to continue. The witch walks towards the bar.
The Moon Dust woman takes my hand and I hold it up. My free hand moves down to her waist, and her free hand travels up to my shoulder.
We sway to the beat for a moment before she breaks the peaceful silence.
"What's your name?" Her voice is soft and light.
"Blake, what's yours?" I say a little louder so that she can here me.
"Mine's Audrey. Why-why did you want to dance with me?" I move my arm to wrap around her tiny waist, successfully pulling her closer.
"When you walked in here, I couldn't keep my eyes off of you. I figured that I should grow a pair and ask a pretty girl to dance." I flash her a charming smile that she returns.
Audrey then moves both of her hands up to my shoulder and she interlocks them behind my head. Her dark blue eyes cloud over and then turn black. She starts to fall limp but I quickly pull her closer to me and tighten my hold on her hips. Her eyes and mouth open in horror, the black eyes start to form tiny white specks in them.
"No." she whispers, yanking her hands away from my head. Her eyes slowly return to the dark blue that they were. Her chest starts to heave up and down, her hand goes to her throat.
It looks like she is having a panic attack.
We have to help her.
Oh, so now you talk to me!
Fuck off, we have to help her! She is our mate!
No shit.
When Audrey backed away from me, my arms retracted from her hips. Now I reach out to touch her shoulder, but she jerks her shoulder back and it knocks into another girl.
"I- sorry!" Audrey apologizes before running into the exit hallway.
I ran after her.
"Audrey! Wait! What's wrong?" She is leaning against the wall, her chest is still heaving up and down.
You need to calm her down.
I know.
"Audrey, you need to calm down. Take some deep breaths," I reach my hand out to her to try and calm her down with the mate bond.
"Don't touch me!" She shouts and throws out her hand towards me.
Purple magic flows from her hands and forces me against the wall. I slump against the wall, the wind knocked out of me.
I look through the blonde hair that fell in my face.
Audrey is slumped against the wall still breathing heavily, but not as bad.
I get up from the wall and walk towards Audrey. Heavy pounding footsteps are running towards Audrey and me. I ship my head around to see the witch.
"Get away from her!" The witch growls as she points her hand towards me, and I freeze.
"Do you know who I am?" I growl as I struggle to break out of the bond the witch put on me. The witch sprints towards me and when she unfreezes my body, I throw a punch to her face, but she barely moves. Her light blue eyes turn more vibrant. The witch holds up her fist that has blue magic flowing around it. She throws the punch and I barely block it before she has me in a headlock.
More footsteps are coming towards us.
"Go, Audrey! Get out of here. Forget about me, dont go to Hannah!" Audrey picks up her head when the witch talks to her.
Audrey nods her head and runs back onto the dance floor. I finally get out of the headlock. The witch and I square up to fight but a tall man throws me into the wall.
Who the hell does this human think he is?
Chill, we can't go around killing random humans.
"Stay out of this man, it ain't your problem."
I pick myself up from the wall again and try to push myself to the witch.
"Not a chance." The man had the guts to use that tone against me, an alpha!
The human is stupid. Let us kill him!
No. Killing.
"Zack, as much as I love to see you again, please don't get involved in this fight." The witch pleads as she steps closer to the man.
My wolf, picks up something in the air once they touched. It wasnt a mate bond, it was something else, something much more ancient.
Focus. Drake calls to me, and I take a deep breath to calm down and center my thoughts. I set my eyes on my target to get my goal. The witch.
I've had enough of getting thrown into walls and losing fights. It's time to start winning.
Once I throw a punch at the man, he leans back to doge it.
"Stop." A clear and crisp voice says, and my fist stops moving once it got close enough to touch his face.
The demon is here, but I can barely smell her.
Yeah, it's like the witch is over powering her.
Yes. But calm down and access the situation. Who are you fighting?
I take another deep breath at my wolf's words. I take a good look at my opponent's face.
Zack Barnes, renowned demon hunter. Samantha Fischer, Mercenary, used to work for Hell. Audrey, the Moon Dust carrier that looks like she can't hurt a fly. The woman who stopped us, the Demon Queen, Hanna, Emila, summoner of chaos and evil, what ever you want to call it.
All of these people could beat me if they worked together.
Good, what's the logical situation where no one dies?
"Let them go!" Fischer yells at the demon. A blue haze starts to form around the witch.
They won't be working together, but there is still the bond between Fischer and Barnes. They would fight with each other. Aidrey would only fight in self defence.
Keep going.
"Give me a good reason for why I shouldn't throw them both in Hell." The demon says in an icy tone that sends shivers up my spine.
We need everyone to stop fighting. Once I get unfrozen, I take charge and get to a secure place to work something out.
Yes, use your Alpha voice so that it is easier for everyone to comply.
Alright, since when did you become one to talk first, fight later. You were always the other way around.
Oh, I still want to rip off the demon hunter's head for disrespecting us, but I will not mess with the bond between the hunter and the witch.
Huh. Okay then.
I shut off the communication with Drake.
"Because I said so. Now let them go!" The witch used her magic to make the demon think. It looks unintentional though.
"Calm your tits you bitch, I was only stopping them from causing a scene." The witch steps out from behind Barnes and forms her hands into fists. The blue haze that was surrounding her gathers into her hands and forms around her fists.
"Sam, please calm down. There aren't enough drugs and alcohol in this place to cover up your magic. Please, Sam." The witch then lets out a frustrated scream and the blue light disappears.
"Whipped." The demon says under her breath.
She is a bitch.
I fully agree.
"Unfreeze them NOW!" Her hair starts to float in the air once I can move my body again.
I step away from Barnes and then speak.
"We need a secure place to talk, now." Barnes immediately turns towards Fischer, his hands moving toward her face until he stops and looks towards the Demon Queen.
I watch his eyes turn wide before I look at her too.
She is really short.
Yeah, but that's her meat suit.
My eyes then quickly move to look at Audrey, whom is standing behind the demon.
Our mate is really pretty.
My breath is taken away when Audrey looks at my. Her light brown hair is messy from running. Her dark blue eyes are still wild from earlier. Her dress, by the Moon Goddess, is doing wonder for her body. Especially in this lighting.
Audrey send me a little grin before looking at the demon hunter and the witch.
"Zack, your house." Fischer says as she moves her hands to tug on Barnes' arms.
"Uh, yeah, we can go there." I dont know if it's the lighting but Barnes looks really pale.
"Good, I've got a spell for that. Everyone needs to be touching me." Almost immediately, Fischer and Barnes throw their arms around each other. Audrey then runs up to the witch and wraps her in a tight hug with her arms around the witch's waist.
The witch then offers her arm to me. I walk up and grip onto the witch's wrist as she does the same to me.
Samantha Fischer then closes her eyes in concentration as she starts to mumble under her breath.
I look towards Audrey. My mate has her head tucked into the witch's shoulder, her eyes are close tight.
Then I take another deep breath and close my eyes. Once I open them again, I am standing in a living room.
The lights are shut off, but everything looks modern and comfortable.
"Why didn't Hannah grab on?" Audrey sounds like a scared pup.
Go comfort her you idiot!
You saw how she reacted at the club, what if she reacts the same way again?
Pussy.
"She knows that she cannot enter your house."
Zack POV
"Get out of my house!" My voice cracks as I yell at Brittany. The woman mentioned throws another of my grandmother's vases on the ground.
"Fuck you!" She screams as she marches out of my kitchen and to the front door.
"You already did. Get out." Brittany slams the door behind her and I lock it. We're not even in a relationship and she thinks that she owns my house.
"Crazy ass bitch," I mumble under my breath. I then grab the broom and dustpan and start to clean up the shards of clay. Cece shouldn't have to clean up after Brittney.
After cleaning up, the doorbell starts to scream. I run over to it, unlock the front door, and Aaron is standing there with a shit-eating grin on his face.
"What do you want?" My eyes narrow from the look on his face. This can't be good.
"Come to the club with me?" He smiles and I roll my eyes. The last time he gave me that smile was after he crashed my black mustang.
"You know that I don't do clubs." I open my door wider and let the man child in.
"Come on bro. Why are you still partners with Billy then? Huh, ya want to tell me?" Aaron goes straight for my fridge and pulls out the pizza box.
"Because I'm a good friend. Can you stop coming over to eat my food?" I take the pizza box away from him to find that he already had the last piece in his hand.
I give him the really look and fold up the pizza box so that it will fit in the trash can. I come back from throwing away the box to see that my chips and my last water bottle are being taken from my friend Aaron.
"Hey man, now you have to go out! You're almost out of food." Aaron takes a large bite of an apple from my fruit bowl to make a point.
"Yeah, because you keep eating it all. Let's just go." I grab my car keys and push Aaron out of my house.
Billy, the true owner of the club, was sitting quietly beside me in the VIP section. We're both looking out into the crowd for two different reasons. Billy is looking at people's different reactions to different parts of the club so that he can make things better.
I sit and stare off into the distance, slowly sipping on my water. Aaron knows that I don't like to come here, and let alone drink. Even though I am happy for Aaron and Cece, Aaron keeps pushing me to find someone to live happily ever after with. Someone other than Samantha Fischer.
Even though she was abruptly thrown into my life, Sam changed my life in the week that she stayed at my house. It's not even the facts that she is a witch, or that she saved my life. It's that Sam showed me what real friendship is like. We ate junk food while watching lots of different movies, we would tell each other stories about our childhoods. We could take Gracie out for walks during the day and when the nightmares plagued us, we laid outside and looked at the stars.
Sam knows so much about everything. About space, magic, buildings, wars, she knew something about it. It still amazes me that her first experience with war was Gettysburg, fought in her home town.
Samantha is very different from the blonde company that I hated to keep. She never throws or threatens to break any of my items. Heck, she was probably the least expensive of my friends, including Aaron and Cece. It sucks that Sam had to leave in such an abrupt way, but her house was burning down. The fact that she dropped her phone when she teleported away broke my heart, she told me that she doesn't do a lot of stuff with her phone except to call and text people. Her signal spreads quickly when she leaves the barriers of her homes, that and she says that she doesnt have many friends.
The witch said that her old line of work classified her as an assassin, so many people wanted to kill her. I have had no way to contact her.
While my train of thought ran away form me, I was staring intently at the wall with my resting face on.
I've been told that I look like I want to kill someone when I have that face on.
Then my eyes catch a sudden movement leading to the back door.
I get up out of my seat and stalk my way towards the commotion. When I get there, my mind cannot process what is happening.
Samantha Fischer is standing in front of me and she has a tall blonde man in a headlock. A younger woman is holding herself up with her hands on her knees while taking in a raspy breath.
My eyes are drawn back to Samantha when the blonde slipped out from the headlock.
"Go, Audrey! Get out of here! Forget about me, but dont go to Hannah." The younger woman ( whom I presume to be Audrey) picks her head up when Samantha shouts to her. Audrey then runs back into the club.
The blonde man then charges at Sam. That is when I jump out of my daze. I sprint to the man, hook my hand around his shoulder, and throw him into the wall.
"Stay out of this man. It ain't your problem." The man picks himself up off the wall and tries to push past me to Samantha.
"Not a chance," I speak in a low tone, balling up my fists.
"Zack, as much as I love to see you again, please don't get involved in this fight." Samantha pleads.
Her hand touches my back, letting me know that she is still behind me.
Suddenly, through the dim light, my eyes catch the blonde's fist starting to move towards my face. My body automatically starts to lean back away from the fist when a chilling voice rings through my ears.
"Stop." Everything then slowed to a stop, my back is bent at an awkward angle, and the man's fist is nearly missing my face.
"Let them go!" Samantha yells at someone. I can not see anything because my eyes are glued to the fist that is centimeters away from my face.
"Give me a good reason for why I shouldn't throw time both in hell." Another voice says from behind me. I presume that she is the one that froze me and blondie.
"Because I said so! Now let them go!" Samantha yells at the other woman. I see a familiar blue haze from beside me.
"Calm your tits you bitch, I was only stopping them for causing a scene." The woman that froze me (I'm just going to call her a bitch) laughed an evil laugh that I heard in my nightmares.
"Sam, please calm down. There aren't enough drugs and alcohol in this place to cover up your magic. Please, Sam." I beg Samantha. Sam then lets out a frustrated scream and the blue light disappears.
"Whipped." The bitch mumbles under her breath. If I wasn't frozen, I would have been throwing punches.
"Unfreeze them NOW!" Sam tells again, and I can move my body. I step away from the blond man, his own arm falls limp to his side.
"We need a secure place to talk, now." The blonde man speaks in a calm tone.
Normally I am the person intimidating, but with the tone of voice that blondie used, it felt like I needed to follow this order.
This is a new feeling for me, and I don't like it.
I turn towards Sam to see that she is intently glaring at a short, dark-skinned woman. Chills run down my spine and my eyes grow wide.
The woman is the demon from my dreams. I always saw her traveling and talking to different people in the dreams. Through my dreams, I could feel the demonic energy radiating off of her.
Now, I can barely feel the negative energy, only Samantha's power.
"Zack, your house," Sam says to me as she tugs on my arm.
"Uh yeah, we can go there." I look over to see sam intently staring at me. I almost forgot how tall she was.
"Good, I've got a spell for that. Everyone needs to be touching me." Samantha slides her right arm around my waist. The shirt brunette from earlier wraps her arms around Samantha's waist. I wrap my left arm around Sam's tense shoulders as Sam holds out her left arm to blondie.
Blondie walks forward and grips Sam's wrist tightly as she does the same to him. Sam then closes her eyes and whispers words of s foreign tongue.
One moment I'm in Billy's club, the next I'm standing in my living room with two strangers and Sam.
Third POV
It was almost as it Fate planned it. Just as the four people left via magic, Jack walks out of the bathroom, fixing his pants. He stops to look around the place before noticing some things were missing. More specifically, four some things.
Jack places his hands on his hips and looks around once again.
"Damn it." He mumbles under his breath before walking out of the bar to his car. He needs to have a talking with Blake.
