Audrey POV
I don't know if I should be getting used to having panic attacks or not. I was just trying to fall asleep after Blake gave me his shirt and Zack gave me some shorts to sleep in. The queen-sized bed was very comfortable, not to mention the weighted blanket that I was given too.
I am starting to notice a trend with the attacks too. I think I figured out my trigger. My ex was my last thought before my brain started panicking. He was in my dream when I had my first attack. When I caught a glimpse of Blake's memories, my ex was getting torn to shred by two invisible things. Then I was thinking of how Blake held me back at the club. He held on to me like I was everything. His skin, felt like I had pins and needles when I touched him. The feeling spread through my whole body and I loved it.
Then my mind wanted to compare my ex to Blake. I didn't get too far before panic rushed through my brain again. I couldn't breathe, it felt like there was no oxygen in the air. My body felt really cold. Before I lost complete focus I fell out of the bed, trying to get to help. My eyes felt that they were going to explode. Someone pulled me into their body (it was Blake because of the tingly feeling) and I started to thrash around. I did not want to be held.
Then my eyes opened but I couldn't see it. Everything was blurry.
Suddenly my body relaxed. My breathing evened out, and my brain calmed down. I eased myself into Blake's hold and fell asleep.
.Now, I really have to pee, but Blake wouldn't let me go.
I am laying on my back with one of my hands on top of Blake's head. The other hand is tangled with Blake's hand. The man that is basically laying on top of me, has both arms around my waist, his legs tangled with mine, and his head laying on my chest.
"Blake," I say, shaking his shoulder.
"Shut up." I roll my eyes and shake him again.
"I am going to pee myself. Let me go to the bathroom." Blake then grumbles something into my chest before letting me go and rolling over to fall back asleep.
I roll out of the bed and attempt to sprint to the bathroom. My body is still asleep.
After I did my business, I dress in the clothes set by the door. Samantha probably conjured them up for me this morning. I pull my hair into a high ponytail and walk down to the kitchen.
Sam and Zack were already awake. Sam is dress in one of her rare colorful outfits, a blue tank top, dark grey shorts, and a pair of blue vans that I never saw before. Zack on the other hand is wearing all black, a tee-shirt, jeans, and socks.
"Good morning Audrey. Do you want pancakes or French toast? Zack won't help me decide." Samantha is chopping up fruits while Zack is busy reading something on his phone.
"I told you, I don't care what you make. All of your food is great." Zack says without looking up from his phone like they already had this conversation. I sit down at the island with Zack and fiddle with the moon necklace.
"Zack is right, all of your food is good. I am also really leaning towards the French toast."
Samantha grins at me proudly.
"This is why I like Audrey more than you Zack." Zack just sticks his tongue out at Sam and she blows him a kiss.
I just sit there and look out Zack's kitchen window. His yard looks perfectly done, the grass is evenly cut, the flower bushes are all trimmed, and the pool looks clean.
All of Zack's house looks clean. The white walls, white bedsheets, and the bathrooms have white linoleum on the floor. The white is balanced out with other colors too, but mostly blacks and greys.
"Uh, Zack, what time is it?"
"It's almost one in the afternoon." I look at Zack with wide eyes. Without looking away from the oven, Samantha adds to Zack's comment.
"Zack and I woke up an hour ago. I wanted to let you and Alpha Blake be together for as long as possible. Werewolf bonds are very powerful. After you two met last night, the bond will grow until you're dead. There are different ... steps to becoming fully mated, but I'll let Balke cover all of that." Sam adds another piece of French toast to the growing plate.
Minutes later Blake joined us, thankfully with a shirt on. I would not be able to focus on anything but him. I got a good glimpse of him and his glorious abs earlier.
Once Blake sat down we ate in peace. Blake then started a conversation.
"So how can you tell if Audrey and I were mates?" Sam sets down her fork and finishes chewing before she speaks.
"At the college I went to they taught us how to see different things." She blinks her eyes and they become back.
"This allows me to see at night or in dark places." She blinks again. Her eyes are now white.
"How I can see your souls and access Holy Light." She went through a bunch of different visions and she stops once the whites of her eyes are a light pink and her irises are a magenta.
"This allows me to see bonds between people, like you and Audrey, have a bright white bond, it like of looks like a rope connecting you two. Now I know from experience that mates that have been together longer have stronger bonds." Samantha then looks between her and Zack.
"Well would you look at that." She comments before making her eyes normal
"Now at the club I didn't use that vision, but with you being an Alpha I could sense that you two were connected."
"Yes. With me being an Alpha I can also see when other people are connected." Blake gestures between Zack and Samantha.
I am honestly confused about where this is going because I thought that only werewolves could have mates.
"I think," Blake pauses to take a drink from his glass. He then runs a hand through his hair. "That cupid has chosen a new couple."
"Cupid is real?" Zack and I ask at the same time.
Samantha runs her hands over her face.
"Yeah, the tiny bastard lives. I personally hate him for what he did to Nico."
"Who?" Now I can say that three of the 4 of us are confused.
"Uh, he was a demigod in an alternate universe-" Blake's head snaps up and Samantha stops talking at the same time.
"Did you hear that?" Blake and Sam stand up and walk to different windows.
"Zack, grab your equipment. Something is trying to breach my wards." Sam says as her fists start to glow with the same energy at the club.
"Audrey, come to me." I scurry over to Blake.
I'm looking out the window and see black masses huddled by the pool. One of them runs towards the house, but its body dissolves once it hits a wall of white light.
"We'll have to leave. Zack can defend his house well enough. There are a lot of them out there. I want to get Audrey out of here." I turn around at my name to see Samantha facing us. Her body has a light blue shimmer around it, her eyes are solid white.
"I can transport us out of here and to my home. The residue magic will solidify the barriers around this house. But we need to go now." Samantha steps toward us as Zack runs towards her.
"Not without a kiss." They kiss as I look at the throwing knives, daggers, and crossbows that Zack has attatched to his body.
"Go," Zack says his last word to Sam and waves goodbye to me and Blake. He then steps out to his patio and starts fiding bullets at the black masses.
Samantha takes mine and Blake's arms and starts to chant again.
It felt longer than before and I could feel my body being forced into weird shapes. We then land on a lawn of dying grass, Sam falls to the ground after letting go of me and Blake.
