Monster: Road to X-Men
The Monster fought against time itself to return his reality to it's rightful place. He had saved the lost souls and gained new allies as well. However, he himself had more problems to see through.
The Monster had a vision, a thought, a dream, that spoke of his true name. Now, looking for answers, he finds himself at the school for others of his kind.
Xavier's School for the Gifted.
Monster:
Year 1
You got out of the car after the long drive and took in the fresh air. It's been two days since your episode and everyone in the Program was either worried, or curious. You had to make a note on your phone after the fact since you had no idea what had happened.
Y/N Creed.
You couldn't explain what happened even if you tried. You honestly couldn't remember what you were doing or thinking in that short amount of time besides two things.
Your name.
And the name of the man who can help you figure out this mystery.
Charles Xavier.
Cap: This is it. Xavier's School for the Gifted.
You looked back at the hero who drove you all the way here from the city. Widow couldn't do it since she had to actually do her job and be at the tower with the others. You were exempt from any meetings, missions, and training sessions for the foreseeable future.
You had your own mission to go on, after all.
Y/N: Thank you. For driving me here.
Cap nodded as he walked around the car. He then placed a hand on your shoulder.
Cap: No problem, son. Why don't we head in and meet with the headmaster?
You nodded and followed Cap inside. Word was, this school was a school for mutants. People who had the X-Gene just like you did.
Looking around, you noticed the building was mostly empty. However, it was a school day and you did hear voices echoing down the hall, so maybe everyone was just in class. Made sense.
Cap lead you through the halls before he stopped in front of two wooden doors. He knocked.
???: Come in.
Cap held open the door for you and you stepped inside. It was an office. This must be the headmaster's office. And the guy sitting at the window must be the headmaster himself.
The chair spun around and the man saw you. He smiled when he saw you.
???: Hello, Y/N. My name is Charles Xavier. And what a pleasure it is to finally meet you.
You nodded and walked over to shake his hand. Charles also greeted Cap like an old friend before he made his way over to his desk. You and Cap took a seat across from him.
Charles: I must say, it was a surprise when you called. But it was a welcomed one, I assure you.
Cap: Well thank you for seeing us. I know you must be busy with the X-Men and the school itself.
Charles: I'm never too busy to help a mutant in need. Nor an old friend. Now, Y/N, you wanted to ask me something.
You nodded.
Y/N: Actually, there's a lot I want to ask about. Like with mutants and this school and....I don't know a lot about a lot of things, sir.
Charles smiled.
Charles: Well, I will do my best to answer any questions you may have.
You looked at Cap who nodded.
Y/N: Well, I'm told that I'm a mutant. But that's not where a lot of my powers came from. Just my strength and healing factor. Everything else just kinda...evolved as time went on. Like during an impossible fight, I would gain a new power.
Charles: I see. I was also told that you were experimented on when you were younger, yes?
You nodded. Suddenly, Venom appeared on his shoulder.
Venom: How long have you been looking for mutantssss?
Charles: Since 1963. And you must be Venom.
Venom: Yesss. Actually, we've met before. Briefly.
What? Venom knew the professor? They've met before? Charles looked at Venom for a moment before he nodded with wide eyes.
Charles: Yes. I believe we have. You were with the Creator.
The Creator? The Old Man?!
Y/N: You knew him, too?!
Charles smiled slowly as he looked at you. As he did, he saw something that he had completely overlooked. Something he didn't see before.
He saw the resemblance of someone he had not seen in a very long time.
Charles: You look so much like your mother, Y/N.
Cap looked at you as you sat there in disbelief. So, he knew the Old Man, Venom, and your mother? How? Why?
Charles: Tell me, do you remember anything about her before she passed?
You hesitated before you shook your head. Your first memory was the lab. The blades. The cold. Charles moved around the desk and placed a hand on your shoulder.
Charles: Would you....would you like to go visit her?
-------------
You stood beside the Professor and Cap out behind the school. In front of you was a square piece of marble that was sticking out of the ground among others. It was clean. It also had some fresh flowers set out on it.
Elise Storm. 1981-2005. Friend, Leader, X-Men.
Charles: She was one of my most gifted students. Always smiling. Always laughing. When we got word of her passing, everyone here mourned for weeks. Some for months, even.
You kneeled down and slowly reached out towards the stone. You gently brushed your fingertips across the engraved name as you looked at it.
Elise.
Your mother's name was Elise.
Charles: We knew she was pregnant. But we did not know if the child had died with her. I am so sorry we did not look for you sooner.
You shook your head.
Y/N: Nah. It's not your fault. You wouldn't have been able to find me anyway.
Cap looked at you for a moment.
Cap: You okay, Y/N?
Y/N: Yeah.
You looked at the stone for a moment longer before you stood back up and looked at the school.
Y/N: So, she went to school here? This was her home?
Charles nodded.
Charles: She was one of my X-Men. Even after she had left with the Creator and Venom, she stayed in touch and visited us whenever she could. As a matter of fact, the first person to know about her pregnancy is still here.
You heard a bell ring and Charles looked at his school.
Charles: The students will be out here soon. Shall we head inside? I will prepare some tea.
You nodded. Charles and Cap headed back towards the school bit you stayed there for a moment. This was just a lot to take in.
Venom: Hey, kid?
Venom appeared on your shoulder.
Venom: I'm sssorry I couldn't tell you all of thisss. Honessstly, I ssstill can't remember much.
Y/N: It's fine, V. I'm just glad that I know a bit more about my mom. Though, we came here to find out about my dad, too. And hopefully someone here has answers.
Venom nodded and returned to your arm. You looked back down at the stone and smiled a bit. At least you knew where she was buried. That was some kind of closure.
You turned towards the school and went to catch up with the Professor and Cap.
-------------
You sat in the headmaster office across from Charles and took a sip of the tea he had prepared.
Charles: Now, you have many questions. Please feel free to ask them.
You nodded as you set the tea cup down.
Y/N: Yeah. A few. For starters, I guess, how many people here knew my mom?
Charles smiled.
Charles: Quite a few, actually. The students know of her, at the very least. But her former classmates and teachers are still here. Many of the current X-Men were her teammates. And the newer ones have learned about her.
Y/N: So, do they know about me?
Charles gave it some thought.
Charles: Some do. Elise was a very bright and happy girl. But she also kept a lot of things to herself. Her pregnancy was one of them. And regarding who the father is, I'm afraid I don't know. That is what you wanted to ask, isn't it?
How did he know that?
Charles: I'm a telepath. Pardon my rudeness for taking a peek inside your mind but, you seemed like you wanted to say something that just wasn't coming out.
Oh, so he got into your mind.
Y/N: So, you have no idea who he is?
Charles: I'm afraid not.
Cap watched your lowered your head and sighed. So much for that. At least you knew a bit about your mother, though. That was more than enough for now.
Cap: Excuse me, Professor.
Charles: Yes?
Cap: These other X-Men, do you think Y/N could meet them?
You looked at him confused for a moment before you thought about it. Actually, that didn't sound too bad. Speaking to people who knew your mom, who never met you.
Charles: Of course. I'll bring them now.
Charles placed a hand to his head and focused.
Charles: X-Men, please report to my office.
You instinctively lifted your hand towards your head when you heard him speak, but he didn't move his mouth. So, this was telepathy?
Charles: They're on their way. Can I get you some more tea? Perhaps a spoon to stir...
Y/N/Venom: No Ssspoonsss.
Charles and Venom looked at you as you took a sip of your tea.
Y/N: Fork Gang.
You set the cup down just as there was a knock at the door. Charles smiled.
Charles: Come in!
The door opened and in came two people. X-Men, you figured.
???: You called?
Charles: Yes. Ms. Rasputin, Mr. Guthrie, you know of Elise Storm, correct?
The two nodded. The boy took notice of you while the girl answered the professor.
???: Yeah, Codex. What about her?
Charles: Well....
???: I was eating, Professor. This better be important.
In came another woman who stopped when she saw Cap.
???: Steve. This is a surpsie.
Cap smiled as he stood up and walked over to the woman who hugged him.
Cap: Ororo, it's always good to see you.
Ororo: Of course, captain.
Cap turned to you and the woman looked at you. Suddenly, her eyes went wide.
Charles: You noticed it faster than I did. Must be my age.
Ororo: Is he...
Charles: Elise's son. Y/N.
Ororo slowly walked over to you in disbelief. She reached out her hand and cupped your cheek which was both weird and oddly comforting to you.
Ororo: Y/N. You're...alive.
Guthrie: Wait, this is Codex's kid? She had a kid?
Charles: Yes, Mr. Guthrie. Y/N, this is Ororo. She was a close friend of your mother's and these two are Samuel and Illyana.
Samuel: Yo.
Illyana: It's nice to meet you.
So, these were some of the X-Men, huh?
Samuel: So, do you got the same powers as your mom? Like the whole copy thing?
You raised a brow. What was it your mom did?
Charles: We should wait for the others to arrive before Y/N tells his story.
???: Chuck, this better be important. I was so close to finally catching that damn deer.
You looked over at the door and immediately noticed the man's costume. You had seen him work with the Avengers before. You've seen his file. Hell, you've heard his name every time someone new saw your claws.
It was the Wolverine.
Charles: It is, Logan. And thank you for bringing Laura and Ms. Pryde with you.
You looked behind him to see two girls standing there. Must be who he was talking about.
Pryde: He practically dragged us here. I was in class!
Laura: I was in the middle of training.
You nervously shifted in your seat and leaned towards Cap.
Y/N: How many X-Men are there?
Cap: I guess you could see them like the Avengers. There's plenty of members to go around.
Charles: It appears that this is everyone in the mansion at this time. Now, for why I called you here.
Charles looked at you which made you sit up straight.
Charles: Everyone, this is Y/N. He is a mutant.
Logan looked at you for a moment before you saw his nose twitch. Was he trying to smell you?
Charles: He is the son of Codex.
Suddenly, the others looked at you surpise while Ororo smiled. You nervously stood up and nodded your head.
Y/N: Hello.
Logan walked over to you and looked you over. Wow, he was short.
Logan: Elise's kid, huh? So that's why you smell like her.
You smelt like her?
Kitty: Oh! I've heard so much about her! Can you do that copy thing she did?!
You looked over to the Professor before you looked back to Kitty.
Y/N: I don't...what thing? What did she do?
Charles took the chance to intervene.
Charles: Y/N never knew his mother. As such, he is unaware of what she could do.
He then turned to you.
Charles: Your mother, Codex...
Y/N: Real quick, why do you guys keep calling her that? The hell is a Codex?
Logan: Codex was her mutant name. She was able to copy any power she came info contact with. So, can you?
Copy any power she came across? That sounds, over powered as hell. And intimidating. How many powers did she copy?
Y/N: No. I, uh, I can do a lot of things but that's not one of them.
Illyana: What can you do?
You shrugged.
Y/N: I can crate and control fire, ice, and electricity. I also have enhanced strength, speed, stamina, endurance, and a healing factor. Oh, and, uh, these.
You created a fist and popped out your claws which caught Logan and Laura off guard. You retracted them and smiled a bit.
Y/N: I'm also learning magic. And, uh, that's it.
Venom: He alssso hassss me.
Venom appeared on your shoulder.
Y/N: Oh, yeah. I got him too.
You and Venom high fived before he returned to your arm. You stood there proudly while everyone looked at you. Cap stood up and placed a hand on your shoulder.
Cap: He's proven himself to be a fine hero.
Ororo smiled. She couldn't get over how much you looked like your mother.
Laura: So, maybe you can tell us who your dad is? No one knows.
Y/N: I don't either. That's why I came here in the first place.
Everyone looked to Charles.
Logan: You have any idea?
Charles: I'm afraid not.
Y/N: Oh! But I know his last name is Creed....
Logan: What?!
You flinched at his sudden snap. He marched over to you and took another sniff. Okay, that was really weird. He needs to stop that, right now.
Logan: You don't smell like him.
Y/N: Him? Who?
Logan looked at you before he shook his head.
Logan: Forget it, kid. If it isn't him, no point in getting involved with him. He's nothing but bad news.
That was weird. But he knew something.
Y/N: Well, I was experimented on a lot when I was younger. Maybe that's why I don't smell like him?
Everyone looked at you surpised.
Samuel: Experimented on? How?
You just shrugged.
Y/N: Didn't know there were different types. Look, do you know who this Creed person could be? I'm kinda desperate for answers here.
Logan looked at you for a moment before he shook his head.
Logan: Wouldn't matter, either way. He's dead. Besides, your mom would never go after a guy like him. Not in a million years.
Then why was he hiding his name from you? You were about to push for more answers but Charles stopped you.
Charles: Y/N, I would like to ask you something.
You looked at the professor.
Charles: How would you like to stay here with us? You can go to school here and train to be an X-Men. Just like your mother did.
Y/N: What?
Cap looked at you to see your reaction.
Charles: Elise was our family. And that means that you're family. If you wish to stay here and be with us, then you are more than welcomed to.
You looked around the room before you noticed the Laura girl glaring at you from the corner. As if you had just offended her on her haircut or something. You ignored it and looked over at Cap.
What do you even say to that? This was a lot to take in at once. And a decision that shouldn't be made lightly.
Y/N: I...I need to...think about it.
Charles nodded.
Charles: Of course. Take your time. If you come back, I can introduce you to the others. They'll be excited to meet you.
You nodded.
---------------
Nadia: They did what?
You were at the table back at the tower where everyone was eating. Well, everyone who lived here. You had just told the girls what happened during your trip and they had various reactions.
Y/N: They offered me a place on the team.
Felicia: And what did you say?
Y/N: That I needed to think about it. I mean, there's a lot to think about.
Wanda nodded.
Wanda: Your mother was one of them. And her body is buried there. It was her home.
Y/N: Yeah.
Viv: And what are your opinions in the manner?
You just shrugged.
Y/N: I dunno. It's a lot. I didn't even know my mom was an X-Men. Venom said she was on a team called the Strikers but that was it.
Venom: Sssstrikersss forever!
Felicia looked at you as you rested your head on your hand. She had seen you think about things like this before. Her mind immediately went back to the day you decided to leave for the Program.
Felicia: If you say yes, you'll have to leave the Program.
You nodded.
Y/N: Yep.
Nadia: But....you'll be with your mom's family.
You nodded.
Y/N: Yeah.
Wanda looked over to Widow was had been quiet the entire time. It looked like she was thinking about something.
Wanda: Do you have any input, Natasha?
Everyone looked at her as she looked yp at you. In truth, she was one of the people you were worried about telling. She was your caretaker. And you also saw her as a mentor and, though you'd never admit it outloud to anyone, a mother. She even said as such herself.
Y/N: Wido...
Widow: You do what you feel is best.
She got her plate and headed for the sink. She rinsed it off quickly and began to head toward her room but you stopped her by standing up.
Y/N: Wait! What do you mean?
Widow stopped and you walked over to her.
Widow: Kid, do what you want. That's what I mean.
Y/N: Well, yeah. But, what should I do? I'm at a complete lost here. Can I get some advice or something?
Widow crossed her arms and looked at you.
Widow: Look, I'm not going to tell you to pick one or the other. You need to learn how to pick your own path and I can't always be there to hold your hand.
The girls watched as you looked at Widow confused.
Y/N: Why are you suddenly being so hostile? I'm just asking for some advice. Isn't that why you're here? You said that...
Widow: Forget what I said. This isn't about me. It's about you. It's your future. Figure it out.
She turned and left without another word. You stood there for a moment before you clenched your fists and headed off to your own room.
The girls just sat there awkwardly.
Nadia: That was, rough.
Felicia: I think I should go....
Wanda: I'll go talk to him.
Wanda got up and levitated her plate over to the sink while she walked towards your room. Felicia's eyes shifted and Cat glared at her the entire way.
You sat in your room to think when you heard a knock. You just ignored it. Suddenly, the door slid open on its own and Wanda walked in. The door closed behind her.
Y/N: Normally when no one answers, they want to be left alone.
Wanda: I'm aware. You need to talk to someone.
You rolled your eyes.
Y/N: Yeah. Widow. She's the only adult I can talk to about this stuff and instead she's being so....what's her problem?
Wanda stood there for a moment before she walked over to your bed and sat next to you.
Wanda: She's scared.
You had to chuckle at that one.
Y/N: Widow, Black Widow, is scared? Of what?
Wanda: Losing you.
You looked at her confused.
Wanda: You two are too immature to admit what you really feel. She sees you as her child. You should realize it by now.
You did. But you never said it. Plus, she would never admit that if you asked. Why would she? But, if that was the case, then why was she being so hostile towards you? You just wanted someone to help you with this. Someone you could trust.
Y/N: I don't know what to do.
You rubbed your hands and lowered your head.
Y/N: I love the Program. You're my family. But my mom's legacy is with the X-Men.
Wanda placed a hand on your shoulder.
Wanda: Widow was right. This is you're choice. One that only you can make. And regardless of what you choose, we'll still love you. Everyone looks up to you. They'll understand if you want to help the X-Men.
Was that true? You had no way of telling. Not really, at least. You sighed and looked at Wanda.
Y/N: Hey, you said you would obey any request I had, right?
Wanda smiled as she began to rub your shoulder.
Wanda: Of course.
Y/N: Then, can you stay? Just for a bit? I don't think I really want to be alone.
Wanda nodded. So, the two of you sat there. Together. That was a big plus side to being in the Program. Everyone had each other's backs. You had to.
You looked back at Wanda and noticed that she seemed to be thinking about something. How odd that you were the one responsible for her being here. Well, everyone kinda. Danny, Gwen, Felicia, Viv, Nadia, the Young Avengers.
Wanda looked up at you and smiled reassuringly. She really was beautiful. You remembered the conversation with the Fist Bros about her. Or, her older counter part. But here she was. In person. Your age.
So, you did what any hormonal teenage boy would do in this situation.
You kissed her.
But she gently pushed you away before she placed a finger on your lips.
Wanda: You know, you need to behave better with women.
You blushed when you realized what you did. Immediately, you scooted back.
Y/N: S-Sorry! I was just....
Wanda: No. Don't apologize.
She moved closer to you.
Wanda: Ask nicely.
You looked at her for a moment before you nodded.
Y/N: Can I kiss you?
Wanda smiled as she leaned closer to you.
Wanda: You may, darling~
And with that, you two kissed again. But this time, no one pulled away or pushed. If anything, you moved closer. You found your hands on her shoulders while hers landed on your chest.
This.
Was.
Heaven.
Wanda slowly pulled away and moved to your ear where she whispered.
Wanda: Your wish, is my command.
You gulped and felt your body heat up.
Y/N: Stay.
Wanda smirked before she gently bit your earlobe.
Wanda: Gladly.
She kissed your cheek and waved her hand towards the door. It locked and Wanda laid down on the bed.
Wanda: Now, what?
Venom was asleep. He also left that box in your drawer. Plus, you had a lot on your mind.
Y/N: You can read minds, Wanda. You already know.
Wanda: I want you to say it.
You smirked a bit as you lowered yourself towards her.
Y/N: I want you.
Wanda smiled as she snaked her arms around your neck.
Wanda: And I want you.
You'll have you answer in the morning. But right now, your mind was on other things. And you were going to enjoy every second of it.
