You stopped flying suddenly when you heard how weak Venom sounded. You landed on a nearby building and Venom appeared on your shoulder.

Y/N: Ven? What's wrong?

Venom: I'm....I feel weak. I don't know how much more I can take.

He did look weaker. You could actually feel him thining out.

Y/N: Venom....

Venom: We need to ssstop Carnage. But, I think that'll be it for me.

Y/N: What? What do you mean?

Venom sighed as he moved to be in front of you.

Venom: The way I've been pulling the sssymbiotesss, it'ssss pulling me apart. Taking piecesss of me and dessstroying them.

Y/N: So, if I use you to pull Carnage away.....

Venom: That'll be it.

You stood there for a moment as the revelation ran through your head. If you pulled Carnage away from Cletus, the only way to end this, Venom would dissappear.

Venom: We have to do thisss.

Venom suddenly pulled you to the ground and appeared above you.

You landed on the Empire State Building and popped out your claws with Cap's shield at the ready.

You kicked open the door and charged in, but found Carnage just sitting there, waiting.

Carnage: You've arrived.

You kept your flaming claws lifted as you slowly approached him.

Y/N: Game over, Cletus. Give up, and I might only beat you to near death.

Carnage: Tsk tsk tsk. You should learn to be nicer to us. Soon, we will be allies.

Y/N: Fat chance. Your symbiote doesn't affect me.

Carnage began to laugh which echoed though the empty room.

Carnage: You mistake us. We aren't going to infect you. No. Please, take a seat.

Y/N: I'll stand, thank you very much.

Carnage: Sit. Otherwise, I'll snap the kitty's neck.

You hesitated. Felicia?

Y/N: Bullshit. You're bluffing.

Elsewhere in New York, Taskmaster approached the original Avenger's tower. Inside was his prize.

Taskmaster: Good work, Kasady. You've done well.

He smiled under his mask as he walked into the tower. However, he was suddenly stopped by an unseen figure.

Taskmaster: The hell?

???: So, this whole shit show was your fault.

Someone dropped down from above and landed about a yard away from Taskmaster. The empty lobby only had two figures, both shrouded by the shadows.

Taskmaster: Oh, it's you. Let me guess. Vengeance?

The figure extended their staff and spun it around before hitting the floor.

???: Only a little. But this is more for everything you did to Y/N.

Taskmaster pulled out his sword and shield as he smiled.

Taskmaster: Come and get it, then. You know I'll just copy your style. Beat you at your own game.

The figure smirked herself.

Cat: Good luck. You're gonna need it.

Carnage: Join us. Together, we can rule this planet. Then, we can expand and rules so many others. We can be unstoppable.

You stood up and glared at him.

Y/N: Fuck you!

Carnage seemed surpised at your reaction.

Y/N: You think I'm just going to join you?! I've had people die for me to be here! You have to be fucking sick in the head to think I would allow you to do this!

Carnage stood up and looked at you as you contiued.

Y/N: I'm a hero. I fight everyday to save lives. I do everything I can to make sure that at the end of the day, the bad guy loses. I'm not turning myself over to you. I'm here to stop you.

You ignited your hands before you popped your claws out. Your eyes began to spark as frost began to cover your legs.

Carnage: So, you wish to deny us? You will kill your friends!

Y/N: No. We're going to stop you.

Carnage lunged at you, but you lunged at him.

Taskmaster swung his blade again but Cat blocked it before she swiped his feet. Taskmaster leaped back up quickly and went to attack again, but Cat blocked his attack.

Taskmaster went to lunge at her, but Cat was quick to switch to Felicia. She then ducked under his attack and kicked up at Taskmaster.

Felicia: You're going to pay for putting a bomb in our neck!

She slammed the staff into Taskmaster's face.

Felicia: But you're going to pay for hurting Y/N most of all!

She then shoved Taskmaster to the floor. He pushed himself up and turned back to Felicia.

Taskmaster: How are you doing this? It's like two different fighting styles at once.

Felicia: Does it matter? You're not going to win this. Especially since I tripped the alarms. I believe Widow and Moony are on their way here right now with the Program. At least, those who weren't infected.

Taskmaster looked at her surpised.

Taskmaster: You're bluffing.

Felicia smirked as she pulled out a device from her bra.

Felicia: Am I?

She clicked the device on which showed a Rader with a beeping dot. Viv.

Felicia: Just cause I left, it doesn't mean I don't care for them. Now, you can stay here and meet the full force of two angry, unstable adults and a bunch of frustrated teens, or you can leave. Your choice.

Taskmaster clenched his fist before he smirked.

Taskmaster: Fine. Have it your way. But the next time I see you, I will make sure I kill you.

Taskmaster put her sword away and turned towards the door. Felicia watched as he left the building before she let out a sigh. However, Taskmaster stopped.

Taskmaster: Oh, but I do have one more thing to say.

He turned back around and pulled something out of his pocket. A trigger.

Taskmaster: I hope your boyfriend can survive this.

He hit the trigger, and Felicia heard something explode. She quickly looked out the window and found smoke coming from the Empire State.

Felicia: No.

When she turned back, Taskmaster was gone.

You and Carnage lunged at each other, but a bomb suddenly went off which sent you and Carnage flying away from each other.

You hit the ground and immediately smoke filled your lungs. Several more explosions erupted around the building which caused it to become increasingly unstable.

Venom: Kid, we need to ssstop Carnage now!

You pushed yourself up and looked around. You coughed as you got back to your feet.

Y/N: Carnage! Come out, you coward!

You looked around before your senses went off. You turned around just as Carnage's claws sunk into your shoulder. You let out a cry and sliced his arm which caused him to let go.

Carnage leaped back as Venom tried to cover you, but there wasn't enough of him.

Venom: I can't cover you.

Y/N: It's fine. Just do what you can.

Venom covered your arm as Carnage charged at you again. He swiped at you but Venom blocked it and began to pull away at Carnage.

Carnage: It won't be that easy!

He suddenly dug his other claws into your neck. You cried out as Venom immediately move a part of him to try and stop the Carnage smbiote from entering your body.

Carnage: You will die here!

Widow and Moony stood in the street and looked at the smoking building. They had managed to restraint the infected heroes the best they could to escape. Now, everyone who was left watched as the Empire State sat there, ready to fall.

Widow: He has to be in there.

Moony: Maybe. But the alarms at the tower tell me that someone is using this as a chance to steal the stone. I can't let that happen.

Widow and Moony looked at each other.

Widow: I'll go look at the building. You go check out the tower.

Moony nodded. Besides, Taskmaster might be there as well. Moony got the kids and began to leave, but some stayed.

Nadia: We're going with Widow!

Wanda: Indeed. If Y/N is in danger, we need to help.

Viv: We shall provide backup.

Widow hesitated, but she knew it was pointless.

Widow: Fine. Get me a portal to the building.

Wanda nodded and began to open the portal. Moony lead the rest towards the tower.

You felt your power slowly grow weaker as Venom continued to fight off Carnage's infection.

Carange: Scream! Louder! I want to hear it all!

You grabbed his wrists and looked down at him.

Carnage squeezed tighter but you saw it. The opening. You grabbed Cletus' hair, and began to pull on it with on hand, while you began to peel away the symbiote with the other.

Carnage: What is this?!

Y/N: We have a major difference in friends, Cletus. Yours is nothing more than a parasite. But mine is a fucking symbiote!

Venom used all he had to allow you to finally pull Cletus out of Carnage with one mighty roar.

Carnage pulled away from Cletus while Cletus was thrown in the other side of the firey room. You stood there, with whatever was left of Venom, Carnage in hand.

Carnage: I-Impossible! How?! What are you?!

Y/N: Me? No. This isn't me.

Venom: It'ssss me, you sssssorry sssson of a bitch!

Venom moved from your arm and began to consume Carnage as it screamed out.

Venom: My name is Venom. The protector of my brother. A fucking hero!

Carnage: Noooooo!!!

Then, all was silent. Time seemed to slow down as you watched the two symbiotes consume each other. Then, you couldn't feel him. You couldn't hear him.

Your hand opened up and the ashes began to fly from your hand. No final words. No last jokes.

Nothing.

You watched as the red and black ashes flew through the air over your head.

You then clenched your fists as tears threatened to form.

Y/N: I'm sorry there wasn't another way, Venom. I won't let this go to waste.

And just like that, all over New York, everyone who was infected began to change to their original state. Heroes, villians, civilians, everyone.

You let out a shaky breath before you turned back to Cletus. He pushed himself to his feet before he looked at you with a massive smile.

Cletus: Won't you look at that. The day is saved. Ha. Haha. Hahahahahahahaha!

You took a step towards him before your head suddenly began to throb. You cried out as you dropped to your knees. Your eye began to glitch as you screamed out in pain.

Cletus: What's wrong, little monster? Can't control yourself suddenly?

You held your head as you slammed it against the floor. Then again. Then again. Then again. Your cries turned to groans. And groans turned to growls.

Cletus: How long have you relied on that symbiote? You're a damn fool! You should've just done what I said! You should've just joined me!

Y/N: What's happening to me?!

Cletus: Taskmaster told me about this.

He began to walk towards you as he held his injured arm.

Cletus: That symbiote of yours was the only thing keeping your powers at bay. Without him, you're completely unstable.

He kicked you over before he got on top of you. He pulled out a hidden knife from his pocket. He then placed the blade against your cheek.

Cletus: Your dip in the Wellsping of Power messed with your body. You try to use your powers now, you'll end up destroying yourself.

He suddenly cut your cheek, causing you to cry out. However, it didn't heal.

Cletus: You're too weak for your own power. You dumb boy.

He placed the tip of the knife against your chest as he grinned even wider.

Cletus: Now I get to see you bleed as much as I want!

He dug the knife into your chest as your growled wildly. It was then that Widow and the others arrived. They found you and Cletus on the ground.

Cletus: Unlike you, I never needed my symbiote. But like you, they both held us back.

He finished his cut as your struggled under him. Wanda used her magic to push Cletus off of you while the others raced towards you.

You rolled over and looked over at Cletus who was struggling to escape Wanda's magic.

Widow: Y/N? Y/N?! Can you hear me?!

Y/N: I...I you can't be here!

Widow: Deep breaths, kid. Calm down.

Nadia: Wanda, can you do something?

Wanda held Cletus in place with one hand while she used her other to create a spell over your body. Slowly, your head stopped hurting and your eye turned back to normal.

However, your hair also began to change. The girls watched as your hair slowly turned lighter than before. Almost like it was aging.

Widow: We need to get outside. This building is going to collapse any moment now.

Viv and Nadia helped in supporting you while Widow cuffed Cletus. Wanda opened a portal and you all hurried through it.

You ended up back at Avenger's tower where Moony and his team were. When he heard the portal, he turned around and spotted you. He quickly rushed to you as you fell forward.

Moony caught you and helped you into a nearby chair.

Moony: I got you, kid. I got you.

He sat you down and you groaned as you shook your head.

Y/N: Venom....venom is gone. H-He sacrificed himself to stop Carnage.

Moony looked at you for a moment before he shook his head.

Moony: No.

Cletus: Oh, misery. My favorite.

Everyone looked at him as he grinned at your defeat. You forced yourself to your feet and pushed passed Moony.

Y/N: Shut up. Shut the hell up you son of a bitch!

You stumbled but Billy caught you. Cletus began to laugh even more before you heard a pop.

Cletus rolled his shoulder to moved the cuffs in front of him before he grabbed Nadia. Everyone immediately went on guard as he held the cuffs against her neck.

Cletus: No one move! Or she dies. And for you, little pixie, if you shrink, I won't hesitate.

You couldn't help. You couldn't use your powers or you'll burst. You couldn't put everyone in danger like that.

But, you could still feel something in your hand. Something that was always there.

Cletus: Now, what will happen? Someone gonna shot me? Who's gonna be the cold blooded killer? You?

He turned to Billy.

Cletus: Or you?

He turned to Cassie.

Cletus then looked at you.

You slowly walked over to Cletus with your hands raised.

He moved closer to Nadia.

Cletus: She is kinda cute. But, I wonder what the kitty would say if she knew you moved on.

Cletus looked at the massive halo over your head and grinned even wider.

Cletus moved, but you leaped at him and tackled him to the ground. You held him there as Wanda captured him with her magic.

You groaned and fell over in pain as Cletus was lifted into the air.

You stood beside your team as Shield worked to do what they could to grab a hold of the aftermath of Carnage's invasion.

Cletus was being carried away as you watched. He looked at you from over his shoulder and grinned.

He was taken away as you watched. You shook your head and leaned against Moony.

Y/N: I'm sorry. I wanted to save him.

Moony placed a hand on your shoulder and sighed.

Moony: I know you did. But he saved everyone. Glorious bastard.

He looked over to the others as Widow checked in on them. She looked up long enough to see him, and offered a smile.

Moony: I just wished that we could've done more.

Y/N: No. You guys did what you could.

You stood up and looked over at the horizon. The sun was now beginning to set. You let out a breath and began to walk down the street.

Everyone looked up as you walked away.

Venom was gone.

New York was saved.

Cletus was captured.

Carnage was defeated.

Venom was gone.

Your family.

Your brother.

You dropped to your knees and looked up at the sky.

You smiled.
